The Relational School

Sue,Chandler  著
Amba Press 出版
2026/03/29 出版

Schools say they value relationships - but do their systems actually support them? The Relational School is for educators and leaders who sense the gap between what their school aspires to be and what it feels like to work and learn there every day. Drawing on decades of experience as a teacher, counsellor and school leader, Sue Chandler explores why well-intentioned relational initiatives struggle to stick - and what it takes to build a culture where connection, accountability and trust aren't just ideals, but everyday practice.Through compelling stories, practical frameworks and honest reflections, this book introduces the Relational Practice Bridge - a systems-level approach to embedding relational culture across leadership, policy and daily interactions. Complete with the Relational Practice Assessment Audit Tool, this is not another quick-fix behaviour management model. It's an invitation to reimagine how schools relate, lead and respond - with clarity, courage and a willingness to align what we say we value with how we actually work.

Nep 2020

2026/03/27 出版

The title of this book, "NEP 2020: Navigating Skill-Oriented Education," reflects the central theme of the policy-moving away from a traditional exam-driven and memory-based learning approach towards a skill-centered, learner-friendly, and holistic model of education. The term navigating is significant here, for it highlights the practical challenges, opportunities, and responsibilities of different stakeholders-teachers, administrators, students, policymakers, and parents-in successfully steering the vision of NEP 2020 into reality. One of the most revolutionary aspects of NEP 2020 is its focus on skill development and employability. In today's world, knowledge without application is incomplete. Students are no longer required to only memorize concepts but are expected to apply them meaningfully in diverse contexts. The policy emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving ability, communication skills, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and vocational training as essential tools to prepare learners for life and work. This shift places the learner at the center of education, encouraging experiential learning and competency-based assessments.

Understanding Other Intentions

Mdpi AG 出版
2026/03/25 出版

Theory of mind (TOM) is a critical human skill. Without it, humans would not be able to communicate, form relationships, or understand and predict others' intentions. Much research in the area has focused on examining TOM development in young children and TOM impairments in clinical populations. However, renewed interest in the field has sparked a wave of research that examines TOM and related constructs (e.g., social cognition, mentalizing, social competence, common ground, perspective-taking) in a number of areas, including (a) changes in TOM in later adulthood, (b) individual differences in adult TOM, (c) the role of culture and language in TOM performance, (d) issues relating to TOM measurement validity and reliability, and (e) the real-world effects of individual differences in TOM.However, this increasing amount of research is rarely shared intra- and trans-disciplinarily, leading to disjointed findings in the field and hindering progress on TOM. Accordingly, this Special Issue provided an outlet for researchers studying TOM across different psychological and related fields to share their work.

Activate Math!

Suzy,Koontz  著
ASCD 出版
2026/03/25 出版

Get students excited to learn math with these fun and creative movement-based activities!Math instruction and physical movement might seem like an unlikely combination, but think about it: For many students, math is the most stressful subject. And research shows that regular physical activity is an effective way to mitigate stress and boost brain power. Movement not only helps students regulate their emotions, but also improves their overall health and strengthens their neural networks. Activate Math! is the resource elementary and middle school teachers need to shake up math instruction's deskbound status quo and get their students up, moving, and learning with enthusiasm. In this book, acclaimed educators Suzy Koontz and Kirby Schoephoerster draw on educational psychology to integrate movement-based learning with mathematics concepts. With this approach, students become the manipulatives by hopping on a number grid to solve equations, imitating animal gestures and poses to demonstrate skip-counting, and even dancing through algebra problems. Each chapter addresses the five catalysts of movement-based instruction: Engage students, Scaffold math concepts, Expand knowledge, Enrich curricula, and Review progress. The authors also include a comprehensive appendix of activities ready for you to incorporate in the classroom or try outdoors. Activate Math! is a must-read for all K-8 teachers who want to improve their students' math skills and promote a healthy, active classroom environment.
