內容簡介
Handsome, rich and highly intelligent, Peter Gerard seems destined for a brilliant career in the US diplomatic service, and he is about to marry the beautiful Cynthia Barbee, who will join him on his first foreign assignment.
But in one day, all Peter's plans are shattered: first by the news that a plot against the government has been uncovered in his home town, Simonton, Connecticut; then by Cynthia's cruel refusal to join Peter in Simonton for the winter, where the State Department and the FBI now plan to send him on a top secret mission.
