內容簡介
The series that aims to fill the gap left by the demise of Timeform's much-loved Racehorses annuals. Best Racehorses has been described by reviewers as "the new racing bible", "an incredibly valuable addition to the libraries of racing and breeding buffs", "the most comprehensive review of the European flat season available", a "treasure trove of information" and "an amazing achievement".
This is the third year of the series in its current format and fifth in all including the European Group 1 Winners books for 2018 and 2019's campaigns.
Best Racehorses of 2022 contains racing and pedigree profiles and analysis on all the Group 1 winners in Europe, all the Irish- and British-trained group-race winners at home and abroad, plus all winners of Group 2 races in France, and any horse who travelled to Ireland or Great Britain and won a group race there. There is also the usual extensive and invaluable data section plus a new Others Of Note section.
This was the year in which we saw the brilliance of Baaeed, a popular Arc victory for Alpinista, a new Cup star in Kyprios, an undefeated Derby winner in Desert Crown, a standout French three-year-old in Vadeni, impressive Group 1 wins from two-year-olds Little Big Bear and Tahiyra that catapulted them to the head of the ante-post market for the 2000 Guineas and 1000 Guineas respectively for 2023. It was the year in which classic-winning miler and phenomenal stallion Dubawi finally became champion sire, when his 2021 conqueror Frankel secured a repeat championship title overall in Europe, and when Lillie Langtry joined the small but select group who of mares have produced three Group 1 classic stars at stud thanks to her daughter Tuesday's victory in the Oaks.
So many memories, so much to look forward to in the coming year!
