Kathryn the Grape Songbooks
Kathryn the Grape Songbooks are learning tools for children. This dual activation assists with comprehension, memory retention, sight word recognition, phonemic awareness, and overall cognitive development. Father Joe - A Humble Hero
This book was inspired by Father Joe Carroll's example of goodness. Father Joe (1941-2021) helped millions of unhoused neighbors in need have access to meals, housing, education, job training, medical care, and more. Author Kathryn Cloward created the six golden seeds concept from life lessons she gained from Father Joe during her over 150 hours of recorded conversations with him while gathering information for writing his memoir, Father Joe: Life Stories of a Hustler Priest. "Father Joe's Six Golden Seeds" shares the true story of how her signature purple outfit came from the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in downtown San Diego, California when Kathryn's mom worked alongside Father Joe in the early years of his work with unhoused neighbors in need.
About Kathryn the Grape-Purple-Powered Positivity
Kathryn Cloward is Kathryn the Grape. Bringing her childhood nickname to life as an illustrated character was originally her mom's idea; Kathryn was inspired to create heart-centered stories and songs to share positive messages of love, compassion, understanding, and inclusivity. By sharing with children, Kathryn knows she is also sharing with adults. A prolific storyteller of simplification, she is passionate and purposeful in her desire to provide children, families, caregivers, and educators with simple and relatable tools for navigating life. Dressed in the replica of her favorite purple outfit from childhood, Kathryn the Grape is engaging for young children as an illustrated character on the pages of their books and a real person they see on videos and meet in person at concerts and events.
