全球化英語跟英語一樣？
全球化英語是正確的英語
英語母語人士讀起本書應該會覺得簡單易懂。但正因如此，英語人士卻不一定會注意到全球化英語並不等於一般英語，而錯失把自己說的英語限制為「全球化英語」會有什麼好處。但他們應該覺得很安慰，使用全球化英語的人也能輕鬆看懂本書的內容。
閱讀本書時，每個英語人士都觀察到「中間地帶」出現了。能看懂這本書的非英語人士很可能高達五億人。
當然，一開始的時候，或許所有的英語人士不假思索，就能使用全球化英語。然而，想要說寫全球化英語的英語人士必須符合四點：
（1）使用簡短的句子；（2）像廣告商或政治人物，使用簡單的詞彙；（3）只用最常見的英語詞彙；（4）使用肢體語言和視覺輔助溝通。
此外，英語人士也必須找到方法來重複他們覺得非常重要的事項。
全球化英語有自己的名稱
聽到這名字，大家就知道自己使用的英語詞彙量有多少。英語母語人士也明白自己並不「擁有」全球化英語。全球化英語表示所有人都適用的相同簡單規則。通常也表示說話或寫字的人希望能幫助別人了解。使用全球化英語的人，對「所有文化一起發聲」這個事實，欣然接受。
全球化英語有 1500 個詞彙，可用四個方法擴充：

當然，兩個人在對話時必須達成共識，除了這 1500 個詞彙外，還有哪些詞彙可以用。如果其中一個人不了解對方添加的詞彙，就不建議使用這個詞。
全球化英語大多使用主動語態
使用全球化英語的人應該了解被動式和條件式，但傳達訊息時最好盡量使用主動語態。在全球化英語中，做動作的人或東西一定要很明確。英語中可能出現下列句子：
The streets were cleaned in the morning.
（街道早上被清掃過了。）
但全球化英語則是（參見第18 章）：
The workmen cleaned the streets in the morning.

全球化英語建議使用簡短的句子

When we went to Paris we took a nice little hotel not far from the main shopping area so that we would not have too far to carry our purchases.

全球化英語可省略傳統英語不需要的發音
