藥品到貨，供求舒緩

休士頓健康局也於當天收到1.7萬劑的疫苗藥品，並在上午9點於市內十家健康診所內開始為民眾注射，民眾可先到先得。
同時，一半以上的藥品將專們為孕婦和18歲以下患病的青少年使用。
聯邦疾病控制和防治中心官員表示，目前有2240萬的流感疫苗可供注射。該機構希望本月底至少有5000萬藥劑可供支配。
同時，官員也坦稱為近期藥品不足的現狀感到無所適從。截止目前，休士頓已有19人患A型流感而死亡。
H1N1 Vaccine Finally Arrives
On Wednesday, a large shipment of H1N1 vaccine made it to the Texas State Health Department by the thousands of doses, bundled by the hundreds and eclipsed the initial shipment expectations.
The State health department has steered the vaccine initially to providers who treat pregnant women and toddlers. Heath care workers with direct contact with patients also got early doses. Those people are part of priority groups identified by the federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention this past summer.
The City of Houston Health Department has received more than 17,000 doses as of Wednesday. Vaccinations began at 9:00 am at ten city health clinics. The doses are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but half of the doses are reserved for pregnant women and those younger than 18 with medical condition.
Director of the CDC, Dr. Thomas Frieden said that 22.4 million doses of the vaccine were available as of Tuesday. The agency expects to have at least 50 millions doses on hand by the end of this month.
Frieden also stressed that, “'We are all frustrated that we don't have more vaccine available at this time."
So far, 19 people have died from confirmed cases of H1N1 complications in the Houston area.
