Statement
In my paintings I ask myself “Is this the way the world is?’ I reshape and retool my painting experience to answer that question. But while the question begins with the world, it ends with the work itself: “Is this the way the world is in this work?”
The search is for the world in painting and painting in the world (painting worlds/ paintings’ world). Am I in the world or is the world in me? I allude to my life, to writers’ works, and to artists’ imagery. It is my hope that this record of allusion conjures and creates the same. I am referring to text, theory, idea but I am also finding myself already there, looking out to see in.

在我的畫作中，我會問自己：「這就是世界的樣子嗎？」為了回答這個問題，我不斷地重新打造和組織自己的繪畫經驗。然而，當問題從世界開始之時，它卻在作品本身中找到了答案：「這就是世界在這幅作品中的樣子嗎？」
在追尋畫中世界的同時，我也將對這世界的呼應轉成繪畫。而這個“我”，是存在這世界之中，還是我透過生活、作家的文字與藝術家的意象，間接地建構“我的世界”。因此，當我涉獵與這世界相關連的文字、理論和觀點之後而創作，才發現自己已身險其中，卻也置身在外。希望我這樣的創作方式能喚起並還原這宇宙萬物最貼切真實的面貌。
