The author wants the reader to know that life is just not based off the facet of beauty, but that we can also find beauty amongst the scenery of life's storms if we just focus hard enough. The author in this book believes that we would not have life itself if we were not faced with some harsh conditions, such as sadness and grief. The author himself has grown to believe that if the interwining emotions of happiness and sadness did not meet.
