Judgment

We are instructed by the Apostle Peter to pay careful attention to the prophetic word as to a light shining in a dark place. The Bible shows that the prophetic ministry was very difficult for the true prophet. Take for instance Jeremiah. He ministered for almost half a century and no one listened to him. On the other hand, false prophecy was common. False prophets prophesied what would please the people. False prophets are doing the same today: men pleasers.

Biblical events point to the soon return of Jesus Christ. The church has been lured to sleep by the enemies of the cross and politicians. The last Trump is a warning for the world to prepare for judgment, to prepare to meet the God who created all mankind.

God gave Adam and Eve dominion over the creation of his hands. They failed because of their disobedience to God by listening to Satan's lies. Satan took over dominion of the earth. Satan is a liar and murderer and by these he rules the world ruthlessly. Satan is the spirit behind all disobedience, and works through human systems to accomplish his hatred of God and those who follow God. Satan is condemned to hell but he wants to deceive as many people to go to hell with him.

Satan impersonates behind human empires and exercises his wicked rule of the world (Satan and his kingdom are revealed in Daniel 2; 7; Rev. 12; 13; 17; 18). God revealed to the king of ancient Babylon and also to the prophet Daniel the timeline of the rise, progress and fall of Western civilization. The last of those empires in succession was Rome that later became Europe. Prophecy shows Europe would conquer the world; "...it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. ..." (Daniel 7:7) European colonization best describes this attitude revealed in Daniel. This is evident in the colonization of the Americas, where the indigenous peoples were devoured and trampled. The same can be said of the Aboriginals of Australia and the islands. Though not exactly the same, Africa has felt and continues to feel that ruthless colonization methodology (the worst of which was the forceful deportation, enslavement and dehumanization of black people in America). John 10:10 says that the thief comes only to steal and kill, and destroy. That is a fitting description of the colonial enterprise.

In both Daniel 2 and 7, there is great news from our loving and Creator God. He will intervene not only to judge, but to redeem those who have believed in him. His messenger, the Son of Man will strike this edifice of human civilization beginning with the foremost nation, America, and smash them into ashes. In their place God will inaugurate the eternal kingdom of peace; "In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever." (Daniel 2:44; cf. 7:26-27) This is the hope of the believers; the true church of Christ, who is his bride. This is the hope that is offered to all in the gospel. There is time to believe in Jesus as long as The Son of Man is not revealed. But that time is short.
