The Essex Institute Historical Collections (Volume Xliii) 1907
The Essex Institute Historical Collections (Volume Xliii) 1907
內容簡介
A portal to Essex County's living past. Discover Essex County's vanished voices. The Essex Institute Historical Collections (Volume Xliii) 1907 stands as a distinguished historical society collection, assembling regional historical records and early American documents from the Salem, Massachusetts, archives and neighbouring repositories. Compiled in the early 20th century, the volume preserves manuscript transcriptions, local sketches, institutional notices and official returns that together illuminate facets of Essex County history rarely available in modern summaries. For researchers and historians it functions as an academic library resource rich in primary material; for practitioners of New England genealogy it offers concrete leads that connect families to place. Scholars of American antiquarian studies will recognise the volume's methodological imprint, and anyone interested in Massachusetts local history or colonial era reference will find in these pages the documentary scaffolding behind later narratives. The material ranges across municipal notices, memorial entries and organisational reports, providing both factual leads and textured context; as an archival snapshot of 1907 it also reveals the editorial priorities of early 20th century historical practice. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure. Presented with editorial care, this edition retains the documentary authority of the original while making study straightforward for contemporary readers. Casual readers will be rewarded by archival particulars and local colour; family historians and regional enthusiasts will discover practical pathways into New England genealogy; classic-literature collectors and bibliophiles will prize the volume for its provenance and its role in preserving Essex County memory. A heritage volume of substance, it sits equally at home in a public research library and on the shelf of anyone assembling a thoughtful collection of American regional studies. A useful companion for local research.
