The Spear of Fate
The Spear of Fate
內容簡介
Following the death of Ariel and the destruction of one of the oldest vampires in the world, Aiden Gallagher and Elizabeth Callahan return to their Los Angeles home, where they are met by Brigit, the High Queen of Faerie. Brigit informs them that the mother of Aiden's race of vampires has crossed over to the Earthly plane with Samael (Lucifer) himself, both seeking revenge for the death of their daughter, Selene. In their first confrontation with Lilith, Aiden becomes debilitated and they must flee in order to survive.During their self-imposed exile, they gain the assistance of two angels neither of them expected and learn that Samael crossed to the Earthly plane for possibly a different reason: the search for a very well known holy relic thought to be under lock and key, but really secreted away in a location unknown to anyone but the Church and - of course - the angels. The Spear of Fate, also known as the Spear of Destiny, was used to pierce the flesh of Christ during the crucifixion as a mercy in an effort to speed his death and end his suffering. It was rumored to possess not only the ability to give the owner of the weapon unbelievable good fortune and long life, but also the ability to change their fate altogether. They must find the Spear before Samael, and keep it out of the hands of the Fallen Archangel. As Samael unleashes his legion of demons on the world in search of Aiden, Elizabeth, and the Spear; he unwittingly raises the attention of a man he thought he would never cross paths with again; a man who - like Lilith and Judas - had been cursed to walk the Earthly plane never to age or die. Unlike them, however, he was not cursed to walk in shadow and darkness, only to watch everyone he loved grow old and die around him; cursed to live forever alone regardless of the company he chose to keep around him.The Spear of Fate is the final chapter in The Chosen One Series and will captivate you from the first page to the last.
