About the Author
John Petre PhD has coached youth and young adults in the art of pitching for more than thirty-five years. He has taught pitchers of all ages and has been a high school pitching coach for nearly twenty years. During that time, he has amassed a vast knowledge of the pitching skills that allow both novice and experienced pitchers to develop effective pitching mechanics. His expertise is a direct result of working with hundreds of young pitchers. From the basics to the detailed mechanics of pitching, he has analyzed and studied pitchers to identify proper pitching concepts and an ideal path to their pitching success. Using his background in physics and mechanics, Dr. Petre has analyzed the basic actions of the pitching motion and related their effect on the accuracy, movement, and velocity of a pitch.
