That their actions could not only hurt themselves but also hurt others. By not listening to their parent's that bad thing could happen. At a young age kids have a strong self-identity to satisfy their needs and wants. But the needs and wants may not be bests for the child. That is when the term "Tough Love" comes into play. Tough love should be constant in the early years of a child life.

The most important thing is be constant and spend a lot of time with your child to develop a strong relationship. I say this because some kids start rebelling for the lack of attention.
