Two Adventures with Mom and Dad: Explaining Divorce to Young Children is a children's book about divorce. Divorce and separation are difficult for children to understand. This book helps explain these foreign concepts, and helps start the dialogue at home on what to expect during the process. The author, family law attorney Kelly Chang Rickert, and illustrator Tanya Campbell encourage separating parents to read the book to their child. Two Adventures helps start the dialogue at home, and can be used as a road map for the family's journey.
Certified Family Law Specialist Kelly Chang Rickert has exclusively handled prenuptial agreements and family law cases for 22+ years. Kelly routinely appears as a legal expert on television/radio to comment on family law issues in celebrity divorce and custody cases. During COVID-19, Kelly founded Quarantine Publications and began publishing children's books about divorce. Her first book, "Two Adventures With Mom and Dad", helps parents explain the concepts of separation and divorce. Her second book, "Hope's Broken Snow Globe" tackles the topic of holidays and emotions. Both were Amazon #1 best-sellers. Kelly volunteers as a Judge Pro Tem in family law courts. She is a prayer warrior. She discourages "scorched-earth" tactics in family law and encourages mediation whenever possible. Follow @lawyerkelly on all social media.
Tanya is a concept artist working in television and film, as well as a freelance illustrator for comics and children's books. She has been in the industry for 12+ years and has worked on such productions as My Little Pony, Polly Pocket, Peabody and Sherman, Transformers Rescue Bots, with many notable clients, including Hasbro and Marvel. Tanya draws most of her inspiration from nature, and her home Island on the coast of British Columbia. She loves creating worlds that are fun, vibrant, colorful, and bring out the kid in everyone.
