Miranda is shocked to learn she has inherited the lucrative ranch. J.D. was her stepfather and she expected his natural sons, nine-year-old twins, would be the heirs. When Colter Bellamy shows up with his suspicious questions and a good-sized dose of the Bellamy charm, she doesn't know what to think. But within days, someone fires shots at Miranda and her young stepbrothers, and she knows all their lives are at risk, unless J.D.'s killer is caught.
