I officially have a humongous case of the yawns, thanks to the book My Unicorn and the Very Contagious Case of the Yawns (Sleepy Kids Series). This is such a creative, unique book that I can't wait to read to my own kids. I found myself laughing throughout the story. To date, this is one of my favorite books I have read, and I will be purchasing it along with several other books Hailee Oman has written. I couldn't help but giggle out loud at the disclaimer in the opening pages of her hilarious book. Oman did a wonderful job creating a story that will engage a child and help parents settle down kids before bedtime. Who doesn't love unicorns and sleeping! (Okay, maybe my kids don't like the sleeping part, but I do.) This imaginative story would inspire even the wildest of kids to yawn along with the reader. Hailee Oman did a spectacular job of choosing the right fonts and color choices for this book. The book read extremely well from page to page, and I found myself wanting to flip faster just to see what was going to happen next to this unicorn. I truly enjoyed the illustrations and color choices. They were vibrant and eye-catching. Oman's writing is a breath of fresh air with its fun and engaging text. I know without a doubt that My Unicorn and the Very Contagious Case of the Yawns will undoubtedly be a family favorite in my home and one I will go to nightly with my little ones. Oman is correct; yawning is contagious!
