內容簡介

Hetty Honeywort is a little witch who isn't quite like other witches. For a start, she doesn't look much like a witch. Hetty is short, cute, and wears round glasses and dungarees. Oh, and she has a talking chicken as a familiar too. She's also not really up to scratch when it comes to magic, especially when she brews up her spells and potions. She always makes a teeny little mistake and ends up producing rather silly results!. Nevertheless, Hetty is perfectly happy and content living her quiet, boring life in the forest, along with her chicken familiar, Penelope Yellowlegs. In fact, the very LAST thing Hetty wants is an adventure. But when an angry dragon starts blasting fire all around the kingdom, causing mayhem and destruction, Hetty knows she has to help. Joined by two new friends, His Royal Highness, Prince Cuthbert the Third (a very annoying prince) and Derek (a grumpy llama who spits a lot), they set off on an adventurous quest across the magic kingdom, to find the dragon and put an end to her fiery rampage. Along the way they meet a cast of unique magical characters, all with their own stories to tell (and all needing Hetty's help!). Eventually, Hetty discovers that all is not quite what it seems. Is the dragon really the villain of this story? Or is something peculiar going on? Join Hetty on her very first adventure, for a little bit of magic, and a whole lot of nonsense! This amusing chapter book is perfect for young readers aged 7 to 10 years (or any age!). It contains 12 amusing chapters and almost 100 black and white illustrations, making it perfect for newly independent or reluctant readers. It's also perfect for parents to read out loud to younger children and enjoy together as part of a bedtime reading routine.
