內容簡介
One day Meadow searched the land and found not much was there!
"Come quick" she called her mum and dad, "I think we have been robbed,
"There's little here to eat or sell," the beautiful girl sobbed.
"Perhaps it's moles or rabbits" a friendly farmer did propose,
"Or maybe pests flew from the sky, like collared doves or crows?"
"I don't believe our farmer friends would commit such a crime,
"These marks within the soil, are not from fox or rabbit's paws,
''This is the work," her father said, "of giant, beastly claws....."
Meadow is a sweet child whose family are poor. When the family's supply of vegetables at their farm is stolen, clues indicate that a bigger creature is at play, than the average farm animal. When the family falls sick, Meadow cares for their wellbeing, and spots a mysterious figure in the night stealing along the farm fields. Brave and wishing to understand who the shadowy figure she saw was, Meadow follows it to it's lair. But what is this creature that her eyes behold? Why does it live in the woods? Why does it destroy and take without asking? Open the covers and find out the intriguing tale of the Clawby.
This children's rhyming story about a mysterious and misunderstood creature looks at our prejudices and how kindness can overcome and break barriers down, and teaches that we can all correct our mistakes with honesty, courage and understanding. Children will love to spot the humours details in the colourful, detailed illustrations and will want to discuss what is happening in each picture. Children will love the Clawby, whose demeanour, behaviour and story unfold with each turn of the page, and will keep your little one asking question after question!
