The "sentimental journey" does not dwell on monuments, landscapes, or political observations, but rather on fleeting encounters, everyday details, and emotional impressions--whether Yorick giving alms to beggars, exchanging snuffboxes, conversing with peasants, or reflecting on the kindness and follies of strangers.
