This is The Manorial Society of England and Wales 2023 register. The Society was created by its founders due to their interests in genealogy and the manorial system/seignorialism. It has developed as one of its aims a desire to produce a searchable database of those holding manorial titles in England and Wales, something that has become of greater significance since HM Land Registry stopped recording such interests. HM Land Registry maintains an index of registered manors, however this index of lordship titles stopped receiving new registrations since October 13th 2013. Titles already listed are updated but there was no legal requirement to register such titles and so many never were. This is inline with the Land Registration Act 2002, which stopped the ability of an individual to register a Manorial Title as outlined in the Land Registration Act 1925. Disclaimer- The information held within this publication is accurate at the time of publication to the best of our knowledge and after reasonable levels of research. If an update is required due to new information then this will be placed on all websites connected with The Manorial Society of England and Wales TM and their Manorial Title listing for the next publication of this book. Listings made are for the last registered title holder and/or the last known title holder. All entries are to be read as to hold the note that the holder is the person herewithin listed or their rightful heirs and successors. We have contacted all reputable organisations and requested information from their members to help build this list, as well as utilising entries from the London Gazette and HM Land Registry. Where such information was forthcoming it has been used, unless further information was obtained that improved the individual entry. Where individuals have submitted applications to be included within this publication we have included them as persons claiming the relevant manorial title. If there is conflicting information the entry has not been made, or this has been noted in this publication. In such cases this is not to be taken to mean that any person or organisation putting forward related information is not doing so in good faith. All works and research connected with this publication are the intellectual property of The Manorial Society of England and Wales TM. Some Manorial Titles can be very similar to others or identical but refer to another place, sometimes in another county.
