İstikrarlı-a Turkish word meaning "consistency" is Vibhuti S's second poetry collection, following her debut Forelsket. The subtitle, subtly inspired by Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, this book reflects on how, through turmoil, we are constantly called to reinvent and adapt ourselves. Yet amid all the grey and the hurt, we find what is truly ours, something no one can ever take away.Beginning with the quiet unrest of self-doubt and unfolding toward the discovery of the right person and the right people, İstikrarlı moves through a vivid palette of emotion: the deceptive greys of loss, the maroon ache of longing, and the golden warmth of healing.Even the fiercest days, Vibhuti writes, do not exhale fire but dusks and dawns bleed light back into us. This collection can be read as a honeyed refrain after emerging from the stygian mist, or as a story that ends in something inexplicably, unreasonably whole.Every poem here is painted by number and made to count, a reminder that the greatest loves of all time aren't over yet. Somewhere in the unraveling, a single thread of gold ties the poet to her yellow, the yellow that whispers, "Perhaps, just perhaps-light still filters through. The sun roars for you; the stars shine for you; everything you do, as it always was, is yellow."
