Parents on a Mission

2025/07/08 出版

Parents on a Mission (POM): Transforming Parents, Rebuilding Families, and Breaking Generational CyclesParents on a Mission (POM) is a transformational parenting and leadership development program that empowers parents to lead their families with emotional maturity, clarity, and purpose. Unlike traditional parenting classes that focus on fixing child behavior, POM shifts the focus inward-challenging and equipping parents to grow themselves first. At its core, POM teaches that parenting is not about control-it's about leadership. Through our structured, values-based curriculum, parents learn how to regulate their emotions, heal past wounds, earn their children's respect, and lead with love instead of fear. We speak candidly about topics many others avoid-like spanking, yelling, blended family struggles, and unresolved trauma-offering not judgment, but clarity, compassion, and truth. The program includes writing exercises, group discussions, real-world coaching, and practical tools for leading a united, respectful home. Whether a parent is raising biological children, stepchildren, or navigating family breakdowns, POM provides a pathway toward healing, influence, and legacy.POM is ideal for schools, churches, jails, prisons, and community organizations that want to support families from the inside out. Our "Train-the-Trainer" model also allows organizations to multiply the impact by equipping their own staff to facilitate the program in their communities. Our mission is simple: to turn the hearts of parents to their children, and the hearts of children to their parents-because when that bond is restored, everything changes.Parents on a Mission is not just a class. It's a turning point.

Everlasting Motherhood

Emma,Heaphy  著
Emma Heaphy 出版
2025/07/08 出版

The hand holding you need as you face the depths of your continued early motherhood with an expanding family and the bittersweet journey that is your last baby. Emma Heaphy's fourth book of poetry and prose on early motherhood is finally here. Everlasting Motherhood is the missing piece of the popular poetry collection for mothers. Her earlier books, Dear Motherhood, Mother On and Motherhood to Me, take you through new motherhood, subsequent pregnancy and postpartum journeys and the ups and downs of life as a young family in the early years. This book picks up where they left off, and dives deep into the last baby feels with her fourth baby and the realisations that come with her bigger-still-little-ones.Everlasting Motherhood will make you really feel. You will cry regularly. You will nod often. You will feel held in the words of comfort and validation. It's what every mother needs when saying goodbye to a chapter so close to her heart. This book is ready for you, when you are ready. And when you are, take your time with it. With both tenderness and deep reverence, Emma's poetry cradles the complexity of mothering: the ache, the awe, the contractions, the (un)becoming, the (re)making, the love. Her words erupt waves of recognition, stirring what lives unspoken beneath the surface of motherhood. A powerful witnessing of how the experience of mothering unsettles, remakes, and redefines us - and what it means to traverse the transitions and tender terrain of everlasting motherhood.- Dr Sophie Brock, Motherhood Studies Sociologist Emma makes both her poetry and outlook on motherhood feel easy to understand, despite their complexity. Through simple language and a string of seemingly ordinary moments and experiences, she conveys a depth and duality of feeling that resonates with women navigating any unique strain or stage of motherhood. Everlasting Motherhood reminds us that these feelings and experiences connect us to a collective and stay with us forever.- Neha Ruch, USA TODAY Bestselling Author of THE POWER PAUSE

The Lost Art of Lingering

2025/07/07 出版

Reading The Lost Art of Lingering gives you a gallery of the best quotes from the best books on mentoring. As an avid reader and quote collector, the author treats us with richly colored quotes from the best writers on the topic, which gives you a sense of having read a library on mentoring. What if we approached mentoring relationships to listen and learn, rather than merely talk and teach? What if mentoring friendships became the norm in your church rather than an off-to-the-side ministry? This book is an invitation to engage in relational slowing, to linger long enough for spiritual friendships to develop over time. It is also a call to fold key mentoring practices into your life or small group so that they become life-changing habits. The Lost Art of Lingering is also for leaders who dream about a day when God will create a mentoring/disciple-making culture in their church. They long to see Spirit-orchestrated transformational friendships folded into every aspect of church life, where two or more people come with the attitude: "I've come to listen to you and the Holy Spirit through you. I've come to learn from you and want to be real with you. I'm a work in progress, so please come and grow with me."

Your Legacy Moment

K,Lee  著
2025/07/03 出版

What does preserving your legacy look like? For many of us attending funeral after funeral, we have to ask the question. I have attended, on average, ten funerals a year, and the numbers aren't shrinking. The young and the old, the sick and the healthy, are leaving this earth. The question we have to ask is, am I ready? Is my family ready? For many of us, we never had someone to take us by the hand and guide us on what we should do to prepare for our exit from this life. We haven't been told how to invest for this life, or the honest truth, we heard a lot of things, but we didn't do any of them. This book will help you navigate the tasks you need to accomplish in life if you haven't done them yet. It is meant to take you by the hand and reduce your fear of talking about death, after-life expenses, and seeding your children's future. Preserving your legacy is about you living life and becoming the best you can be, and preserving a legacy for your children later. If you want to document your story and put it in a book to give to your children, or if you are curious about what kind of financial plan you may need to seek out, I will provide some helpful information in this book. The dead don't bury the dead; it is the living.

Angels with Tails is a heartwarming and deeply emotional novel that follows the intertwined journeys of two dogs, two cats, and their grieving owners as they navigate love, loss, and the enduring bonds that transcend life and death. Told from multiple perspectives-both human and animal-the story explores the afterlife through the eyes of the pets, who awaken in a beautiful new realm, struggling to understand their transition while still feeling an unbreakable connection to the people they loved. Meanwhile, their owners are left behind, each grappling with grief in their own way-some searching for signs, some struggling to move on, and some finding comfort in the belief that their pets are still watching over them. As their paths unfold, the novel beautifully captures the essence of companionship, the lessons animals teach us, and the hope that love never truly dies. A poignant tribute to the deep relationships we share with our furry friends, Angels with Tails is a moving exploration of loss, healing, and the eternal connection between pets and their humans.

The Green Apple Tree

Fackler  著
2025/07/03 出版

In the summer of 1963, in the rugged heart of Texas Hill Country, three teenage boys roamed wild-pushing boundaries, testing fate, and soaking in the tall tales of weathered old men who'd seen too much. For Thomas, Pete, and Bennett, it was a summer of reckless freedom and fading innocence. But only two of them would grow up to remember it.Fast forward to 1986. Thomas Kessler sits alone in a bar, nursing a cold beer and waiting for Pete-now a driven attorney and haunted by an unsolved double murder that shadows their shared past. Bennett vanished without a trace that same summer, and Thomas carries a truth he's never dared to tell... until now. With time to kill and ghosts pressing in, Thomas drifts back into memory-back to that mysterious stone house littered with old Colts and Winchesters and whispered legends, the foul-mouthed gas station that offered a crude kind of wisdom, and the bluff overlooking a town full of secrets. As past and present collide, the question looms: how much do we really leave behind, and what never truly lets us go?

Women Like Me

June,Palmer  著
2025/07/02 出版

"Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery." J.K. Rowling We're taught that acceptance is important if you want to get along with people and have good relationships. But are you aware that acceptance is vital to your happiness? If you're struggling to accept a person or a current/past situation, then you may want to recognize this as a possible 'red flag.' Usually, we are accepting of it all without much stress. However, if you are seriously struggling to accept something, it could be a signal that you have a problem, either in your mindset or your attitude. Are you holding onto a situation? Possibly, your thoughts are too negative, or you are not seeing things clearly. Regardless of why you may be doing it, if you are doing it, you should get to work to remove the negative mindset that could be holding you back. You will feel so much better about yourself and your life if you work on acceptance. Now, don't get your back up about what I'm saying here. Acceptance can be similar to forgiveness in terms of someone who hurt you or did you wrong. Forgiveness is not saying it is okay, but it is forgiving so that you can move forward with your life. You are accepting that someone wronged you; that's it. With this realization, it will be easier to leave that past where it belongsbehind you. Acceptance is like that. Your acceptance of your past. You can't change it. You accept it, learn from what happened, and move on. Never stay stuck! Nine brave women share their personal stories in Volume Six of Women Like Me. All have experienced trauma in their lives. And all have reached a level of healing and acceptance.Anna walking to church, was attacked by a stranger and almost died.Katherine had no choice but to courageously ask for help and to get out of an abusive situation.Emily did everything she could but decided to walk away to protect herself and her children.Lisa explains about growing up and not knowing why she felt crazy.June tells the story of her mother growing up in the residential school system.Tessa endured years of abuse but broke the chains of generational trauma.Katelin was abandoned by her mother at a young age, suffered greatly but found forgiveness.Guelda fought for her son's life; his diagnosis of schizophrenia saved him.Noella looks back on her life growing up and says she's amazed she didn't kill herself. These women are women like you and me who want the best for themselves and those they love. Healing and acceptance helped them be able to write their stories for you and share their important life lessons in this book. If their stories can help just one person to overcome, then that one person can help someone, and the chain of healing and acceptance can grow.

Touch and Go

2025/07/01 出版

Dr David Palmer, ICU Consultant at the Royal Oldham Hospital describes Touch and Go, as, "Mike captures in his heart-breaking account a moment in history, told from the patient perspective. Mike honestly, and often with a stoic sense of humour, describes his ordeal, including the hellish experience of delirium, which one wouldn't wish on their worst enemy." Mike takes the reader from the beginning of the horror story of Covid, through the rapid decline towards near death and on to the long haul of rehabilitation and recovery. The story is a roller coaster passing through the house of horrors in what is sometimes a bizarre world of delusion and paranoia experienced when emerging from the induced coma that saved Mike's life. The first two months of that roller coaster ride being almost all downhill with the occasional glimmer of hope as Mike gripped on to life. And then came the words "Mike is Covid free," and the uphill battle began. Walking, talking, eating and all those things we take for granted had to be learned again as if a child had been born. The learning continues as the disease maintains a hold on the author's life creating new pain and obstacles to overcome every day. Mike describes the struggle to fight for life and then fight to live making clear reference to those who made that possible. Not only the medical professionals and support staff, but the family and friends who lived their own nightmare as they watched a loved one clinging on to life when his wife, Glen, heard the words down the telephone, "You need to prepare for Michael's end of life."

Still His Mum - Parenting, Advocacy, and Love in Adult Social Care

Lorena,Hall  著
Lorena Hall 出版
2025/06/29 出版

Still His Mum is a powerful and deeply personal exploration of parenting, advocacy, and love within the adult social care system. Written by a mother, researcher, and long-time practitioner, this book combines lived experience and professional insight to illuminate the realities of navigating care systems for individuals with a learning disability. At its heart, this is a book about relationships: between mother and son, between families and services, and between policy and personhood. It asks difficult questions about inclusion, communication, and who gets to be heard. Through stories that are honest, tender, and sometimes painful, it exposes the epistemic injustice faced by families and the people they love, and challenges the language and labels that often shape care practice.Yet this is also a book about hope. Grounded in good practice and real moments of connection, it honours the power of relational care, the importance of being truly seen, and the emotional labour that sits behind co-production, advocacy, and family voice.Still His Mum is a call to centre love, belonging, and dignity at the heart of adult social care. It will resonate with professionals, policymakers, and anyone who cares about disability rights, supported living, and what it truly means to stay present in someone's life.

Peggy Owen And Liberty

Double 9 Books 出版
2025/06/28 出版

Peggy Owen and liberty examines the personal cost of conviction during a time when ideals and duty are constantly at odds. The narrative follows a young woman raised within a pacifist tradition as she confronts the moral uncertainty of war. Her struggle is not only external but internal, as she attempts to reconcile deeply rooted values with the reality of revolution. Questions of justice, loyalty, and protection emerge within a close-knit community tested by political and personal danger. The story underscores how the home becomes a battleground for ideological conflict, where acts of compassion become acts of defiance. Tension builds through the quiet urgency of sheltering those in need, and the strength of relationships is revealed in moments of fear and trust. Against the backdrop of snow-covered streets and guarded dinners, the narrative offers a nuanced portrayal of sacrifice, showing that resistance can be found in care as much as confrontation. Through subtle choices and layered interactions, the story reflects on how personal identity must adapt when confronted by sweeping change.

The Fortunes Of Fifi

Double 9 Books 出版
2025/06/28 出版

The fortunes of Fifi captures the collision of aspiration and selfhood in a world that celebrates spectacle while obscuring sincerity. Through a setting shaped by performance and public adoration, it explores how visibility can both empower and distort. The work considers how success reshapes relationships, especially when loyalty is tested by the influence of sudden wealth and social transformation. It reflects on how ambition, though vibrant and magnetic, may lead to a detachment from origin and simplicity. Through the backdrop of Parisian streets and stage lights, the novel offers a portrait of a life where charm is currency, but the cost of maintaining it grows with recognition. It is a meditation on the price of reinvention and the effort to remain grounded in a world where admiration often overlooks the complexities behind it.
