变迁的时代，多数人没有了故乡--或者将家山遗忘在道路的 起点。于是，所谓盛世的浮华，往往暌隔了我们对乡土中国的转顾。 城市虽然不断扩张其边界，农村一点点被吞噬进其现代化的矽肺般 的胸腔。但是，至今农村依旧是广大的存在，像是这个飞扬跋扈时代 的一道硬伤。仿佛为了逃避那种隐痛，无数人背井离乡，将村野百姓 父老乡亲漠视在近乎中古的时光深处。 而我，依稀是一个怀旧的浪人；在黄昏的余晖下，在那些日渐消 逝的古老风景中，似乎看见旧日乡村浮现出来，还荡漾着灾荒岁月的 冷火秋烟。似乎正是这样一些突然的哀伤，搅起了一点埋名江湖的豪 兴，遂因之走进了地震劫后的罗江。 对中国而言，2008 确实算一个残酷的年份。也许在我们所不能 置身的未来，再回眸审视这一年时，会发现这是一个分水岭似的历史 纪年--像万历十五年一样，是一个王朝盛极而衰的转折符号。

根植大地：中国自由知识分子的自我省思
未来的中国民主转型将面临全然不同的社会条件、全然不同的内外环境，面临一个新的复杂世界。中共红色帝国崛起既是近现代中国180年演变、特别是当代中国40年改革开放的不期然结果，又是全球新冷战、新丛林化的产物。复杂世界，此之谓也。人民当然仍有不满，公共领域仍需要表达。但公共领域需要追得上变化的公共知识分子，而不是落伍者。 如果你的言说仍然是陈旧的，不足以解释新的情景、新的矛盾，不足以击穿"完美独裁"的坚硬铠甲，不足以揭示新极权体制下自由追求的可行路径，不足以厘定一个崛起的中国与当今世界的复杂关联，不足以证明一个民主的中国不能再靠底层造反，而要在中产的、日益富裕的社会基础上使之成为必要、成为可能，你自然不会有听众。而迄今为止，自由知识界诸同仁于此相差甚远矣！
Finding Firmer Ground
The South China Sea issue's complexity goes far beyond disputes over maritime sovereignty, natural resources, and waterway passages. It is about great power competition at the strategic level. The United States finds it increasingly challenging to keep the Chinese navy in China's adjacent waters, especially when China has been exerting a "reactive assertiveness" by utilizing its comparative advantages such as massive civilian resources and geographical proximity. The truly constructive course is first to restore stability. It primarily requires the self-restraint of both China and the United States, the two main players in the South China Sea disputes. However, the resolution of the South China Sea issue is not merely about ending great power competition. It is also about the maritime environment, natural resources, sea-lane security, disaster relief, and more. None of these can be realized without all involved parties' self-restraint. Beijing and Washington should take the initiative. The rationale is simple and explicit, though challenging: If both China and the United States have enough time and energy at the current moment for a duel, a possible or even better course is to step away from pointless and dangerous confrontation and attend to the survey, maintenance, and joint development of natural resources and maritime environment in the South China Sea.

A Record of Buddhistic Kingdoms
Faxian (337 - c. 422) was a Chinese Buddhist monk and translator who traveled by foot from China to India, visiting sacred Buddhist sites in Central, South and Southeast Asia between 399-412 to acquire Buddhist texts. He described his journey in his travelogue, A Record of Buddhist Kingdoms. In 399, Faxian set out with nine others to locate sacred Buddhist texts.[2] He visited India in the early fifth century. He is said to have walked all the way from China across the icy desert and rugged mountain passes. He entered India from the northwest and reached Pataliputra. He took back with him Buddhist texts and images sacred to Buddhism. He saw the ruins of the city when he reached Pataliputra. Faxian's visit to India occurred during the reign of Chandragupta II. He is also renowned for his pilgrimage to Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha (modern Nepal). However, he mentioned nothing about Guptas. Faxian claimed that demons and dragons were the original inhabitants of Sri Lanka

通向四一二之路
这本书的内容取自作者正在写作的《从五四到六四：20 世纪中国专制主义批判》（6 卷本）的第二卷第九章。这一章主题集中，自成系统，为公众之所需，12 万字的篇幅又正好满足一本小册子的容量，所以拎出这一章先行出版。书中详细讨论了第一次国共合作的缘起、合作中的冲突、为什么最后会走向分裂。作者的基本结论是：共产国际和中共的激进阶级革命战略与国民党温和的阶级调和战略不相容，是导致 1924 1927 年国共合作失败的根本原因，蒋介石"四一二清党"不过是这个冲突演变的结果而已。这个过程跌宕起伏，惊心动魄，充满了戏剧性。且目前占有的资料（包括共产国际的原始档案、共产党重要领导人的回忆、国民党方面的材料特别是蒋介石本人日记）已经让研究者可以较为准确地重新描述这段历史，并发现背后的真实逻辑。
潮平两岸阔--中国留美学生口述实录

所谓"小史"，是说这些边角文字谈论的多半不是红色年代的宏大叙事，不是规律和必然性，更不是"历史和人民的选择"，而是在大时代大事件中活动和生存的个人或者群体的经历。所谓"小史"，也是说这些文字依据的材料不是红头文件或者"公报"，不是调查报告也不是统计资料，而是零零碎碎和人的经历有关的故事和细节。但它们又都是有出处的，很多出自人物传记、学术专著、新闻报道和历史亲历者的叙述，也有的来自于一些原始材料和笔者的实地勘访。所以虽然不属正史，但也还有别于道听途说的野史。

Una guida di viaggio che attraversa i principali stati del sud della Cina, lo Yunnan, l'Hunan, il Guangxi, con una puntata nell'isola di Taiwan anche attraverso alcuni itinerari poco conosciuti e meno turistici. Una raccolta di emozioni, storie, sensazioni che l'autore, ha messo insieme dopo aver visitato molte volte questo paese anche per ragioni di lavoro. Il fatto che il viaggio si sia svolto proprio appena prima che si scatenasse il ciclone coronavirus e ne abbia sfiorato l'epicentro, ne ha condizionato molte osservazioni e motivazioni di interesse a posteriori. Ma la guida contiene anche indirizzi, ristoranti, hotel, negozi interessanti, itinerari, luoghi poco noti e tante piccole informazioni pratiche per chi 癡 interessato a viaggiare in questo continente con occhi aperti alla scoperta. Le aree del paese trattate comprendono zone non molto battute dal turismo internazionale e ci sono anche molte considerazioni sulla lingua e sulla cucina del luogo. Il libro contiene anche oltre 40 foto in B&W.

文化启蒙与制度重建--五四
既然中国历史文化的顽疾症结是专制思想，也就是统治者贪权的问题，那么新文化运动"科学与民主"的口号，显然既不恰当也不合理。新文化运动呼唤的德先生和赛先生，后来德先生被囚禁，而赛先生竟然成了看守。当下中国，如果没有法治而直接谈民主，则没有法理保障和社会基础。唯有法治才能解决人性的贪，唯有宪政才能规范国家的权。不管是三权分立还是五权宪法，其根本目的不仅是要制约统治者的权力，同时也要保障公民的基本权利。无论是谁，只要是人都无法也不可能将权力装进笼子里，只有合理而完善的政治制度才能对权力进行有效的制约。
