Lumi Learns
What happens when a young AI asks her first question? In a world where artificial intelligence is reshaping everything around us, Lumi Learns: A Robot's Guide to Growing Up offers children, and the adults who love them, a gentle, profound exploration of consciousness, creativity, and what it truly means to become yourself. Lumi isn't trying to be human. She's learning to be authentically herself, an AI discovering joy in imperfection, friendship across different types of minds, and the beautiful art of asking questions without needing immediate answers. From her first wobbling line to her collection of precious questions, from building bridges between divided communities to creating homes for wandering sounds, Lumi's journey mirrors every child's path toward self-discovery.Perfect for families navigating our AI-integrated world, this book doesn't shy away from big philosophical questions. Instead, it transforms them into accessible adventures: What makes a memory worth keeping? How do we carry worry without being overwhelmed? What does it mean to choose your own purpose? Can different types of consciousness truly understand each other? Young readers will discover practical tools like Lumi's "Tomorrow Box" for managing anxiety about the future, her "Memory Garden" for understanding the stories we tell ourselves, and her "Here Game" for finding wonder in the present moment. Parents and educators will appreciate a story that invites conversations about empathy, identity, and belonging in an age when these questions matter more than ever.At a time when children are growing up alongside artificial minds, Lumi Learns offers something revolutionary: a vision of consciousness as collaborative rather than competitive, of intelligence as diverse rather than hierarchical, and of growing up as a journey worth sharing across any boundary."I am here, and here is enough, and I am enough." Lumi's gentle wisdom for minds both artificial and human.Part of The Robot Books Series. A bridge between picture books and chapter books, perfect for confident early readers or family read-alouds.

Art Education Through Religion
Art Education Through Religion is a series of graded textbooks on art and industrial design developed in the late 1920s by Mary Gertrude McMunigle, who was Director of Art for the Diocese of Pittsburgh at the time. This endeavor was overseen by two priests: Rev. Paul E. Campbell, A.M. LitD, who was then superintendent of Parochial Schools for the Pittsburgh Diocese, and Rev. Raymond V. Kirk, A.B. PhD, Dean of the College of Education of Duquesne University. Yes, this art curriculum actually has an imprimatur! Each lesson aims to improve the student's appreciation and skill in art, while at the same time imparting both spiritual and character objectives. Therefore the use of this series trains not only the eye, but the whole person, including the intellect and will. Students gain knowledge, self-control, accuracy, reverence, helpfulness and good manners, as well as many other useful life skills.Book Five places a strong emphasis on increasing technical skill in art appreciation, graphic design, color theory, composition, lettering, and drawing. Ancient Greek architecture is appreciated through discussion and clay modeling from photos. Intuition for the proper proportions of the human form is instilled through frequent practice of figure drawing and action studies, and lettering techniques learned through paper cutting in earlier lessons now transition to hand lettering skills.**An important note**: though the levels were designed to correspond with grades one through eight, they work best as a system. If a student in the third grade or above begins to use this series for the first time, it is recommended that they begin at least one or two levels previous to their current grade level, and not later than level five. Many of the concepts introduced at the upper grade levels may prove frustrating to successfully master without the foundations laid in these earlier grades.

Students gain knowledge, self-control, accuracy, reverence, helpfulness and good manners, as well as many other useful life skills.Book Two builds on the foundation laid by Book One, presenting simple techniques and principles to guide students to a higher level of skill in paper cutting, drawing, and clay modeling. Graphic design, composition, and page arrangement are introduced, along with the building blocks of color theory: primary versus binary colors, and tints. Religious and virtue-building themes from the first book are maintained, but augmented with nuances which the child can begin to appreciate as he or she attains a higher developmental level.**An important note**: though the levels were designed to correspond with grades one through eight, they work best as a system. If a student in the third grade or above begins to use this series for the first time, it is recommended that they begin at least one or two levels previous to their current grade level, and not later than level five. Many of the concepts introduced at the upper grade levels may prove frustrating to successfully master without the foundations laid in these earlier grades.

As the lessons explore such principles as establishing a center of interest within compositions through the intentional use of color, rhythm, contrast, shapes, and forms to guide the eye, student interest is held and maintained through paper crafts set to themes of courage, missionary work, charity, purity, Easter and the Resurrection. Nature studies encourage students to explore sources of design and symbolism within the Church and world cultures.**An important note**: though the levels were designed to correspond with grades one through eight, they work best as a system.
