This is the message my younger self needed to hear, but took decades to name and reclaim. This is the message so quickly forgotten . . . that we seem most reluctant to believe, and yet is perhaps the greatest source of our own resilience. Please join me in trying to make this message clear to children today. My hope is that they will recognize it much sooner and help pass it on for generations to come."Dena Parker Duke has published three books of poetry: In Your Bones: Poems of Radical Forgiveness; Tiny Lights: Small Poems for Big Moments; and When You Know: Poems of Self-Love.
