Double Trouble with Dick and Jane is the second of three children's books depicting the story of their lives.As in Precious Moments with Dick and Jane, Double Trouble consists of vignettes divided into five sections: Mommy, Grandma's House, The Ball, Jane, and Dick. Each of the vignettes describes the antics of these two mischievous "dogettes.'"No longer puppies but not quite adult dogs, I made up the term "dogettes." As you will see in this book, Dick and Jane look like mature dogs but behave like playful puppies.Just like human children, Dick and Jane love to be loved and love to give love. When dogs are in the house, there is enough love for everyone.Double Trouble ends with values that are demonstrated in the vignettes: safety, cooperation, obedience, helpfulness, learning, fun, and curiosity. While these are human values, it would be interesting to see if the reader and the children can identify which vignettes represent each value.Enjoy reading the second stage of life with Dick and Jane.

George McGovern was one of South Dakota's most accomplished politicians. From his more than 20 years making laws in the U.S. House and Senate, to his remarkable run for president in 1972, McGovern made his mark on South Dakota and American politics.McGovern was the first and only South Dakotan to run for President of the United States. When she turned eight, she and her siblings were placed into the foster care system. Dr. Ricks and her sister were placed at the same home and her oldest brother was placed at a different home. Although Dr. Ricks was in a loving home with relatives she wanted to be with her parents. Dr. Ricks experienced a lot of sadness and trauma due to being removed from her parents. She felt sad, alone, and she did not love herself. Dr. Ricks doubted herself and developed a negative self-image. She did not embrace who she was at a young age because she did not know how to.
