I studied at home. Personally I could never concentrate on a lesson when other people where around me. In my mind school was a place to have fun and interact with people around you rather than a place to learn. The place to educate myself was at home by myself in silence. My classmates always questioned me on how I get straight A's when all I do in class is mess around. That's when I had the epiphany to show my friends some of my studying techniques I have used over the years that impacted my school years. Surely enough after applying my techniques my classmates grades started to quickly rise. From E's to B's and in some cases A's. I figured if I can help the people around me improve their grades with a few simple tricks I can help the whole word. That's why I created this book, to help you rapidly increase your grades without having to pay extra tutors. I know what you're thinking... This all sounds wonderful but you don't want to sit inside all day studying while your friends are out partying, getting drunk and having a great time. Don't worry! You will discover that the techniques you will read about in this book are effective even if you study just a few hours a day. That means you can still balance your social life while studying effectively. It might seem too good to be true and you might be thinking: "Just because it worked on a few of your classmates doesn't mean it's going to work on me". While the war was being fought I became ill and I traveled to the University College Hospital in Ibadan. I feel as though I will have a routine stay there and would be released after having the issue resolved that brings there. My return to the village of Ijero becomes uncertain as my life unfolds in the hospital. In the hospital I learn that much of life is indeterminate and uncertain. While there I am able to also become immersed in the impact of war, death, microorganisms, our human journey, the illusion of time, and other things. I arrived in San Francisco from Nigeria in 1969. It was a place of counterculture with great tolerance for the socially marginalized. Fifty years later it is a place of gentrification and technological advancement. Over the years for schools there have been such directives and decrees as those for school desegregation, bilingual education, student discipline, academic achievement, standardized testing, charter schools and many other educational acts and initiatives. Such things that once seemed significant like everything else, they change. Newer issues I consider are poverty, technology, and student learning. There are a number of other things I write about that includes questioning and valuing the lives of those who died or are killed. There are examples of uncertainty in medicine, schools, and a moon landing. There is also attention given to being in nature and observing its activity and traveling in the wilderness. Other things include the first black teacher in San Francisco and the homeless living in the city.
