Sight Word Fun 1
Sounding words out is just one piece of learning to read. Sight words are often not phonetic, so sounding them out won't work. Yet many are "high-frequency words," forming up to half of all written text. That makes it super important for early readers to recognize them "on sight." For example, think of the words "walk," "one," "to," or "their. The best way to learn sight words is by seeing and saying them over and over. Practice and memorize!
