As a parent myself, I have noted my own tendencies to encourage academic success over heart-centered creativity. Most parents, teachers and child-care workers are balancing multiple demands and just trying to survive the daily grind! I was inspired to take up painting as a complete beginner during the 2020 pandemic. The arrival of my first grandchild, Naarah, presented me with the perfect opportunity to channel my efforts into something that I could share with her as she grew.
