Angela attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she majored in Psychology; she completed her studies at Philander Smith where she received her bachelor's in psychology. Angela received two diplomas from Penn Foster Career School and is a licensed Therapeutic Massage Therapist. Angela returned to the University of Little Rock in Arkansas where she received her master's degree in counseling and rehabilitation. Angela is currently working on her Doctorate in Leadership. She will attend Trident University Fall 2023. Angela is presently employed with Florence Crittenton Home, an emergency Shelter for children in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is the administrator of the home, where she got her inspiration to write this book. She is the Vice Chairman of the Henry L. Dumas Foundation, Inc. Angela is the proud mother of 9 wonderful children and 23 Grandchildren.

I come from a long line of storytellers in my family. Grandma Arilla, Mama Jeanne, and Auntie Marge spent years teaching Children's Church and Sunday School. So, I'm fairly sure that I've heard most of the stories from the Bible. When I was in high school, I illustrated those stories as my mother told them in Children's Church. Every kid wanted to win the drawing at the end of the service. I added a little of my humor to Jonah's tale. The Bible says nothing about Jonah hating fish, but I merely suggested it would be funny if that was the case. (In truth, that part was more my feelings about fishing than Jonah's.) The Bible does speak about Jonah not being happy about God's love and grace for the Assyrians. It goes into a lot of detail. As I read it, I thought, "Are you kidding me? How can anyone complain about that?" Then, I realized that there was a kid's book just waiting for me to write and illustrate. The prophet Jonah lived somewhere around 750 B.C. The Bible never really says if he changed his mind about the Assyrians. But, in Mosul, Iraq, (present day Nineveh), the grave of Jonah was a sacred site for centuries. So, it appears that he stayed there for the rest of his life. I'm hopeful that he grew to love the people. The grave and the mosque covering it were destroyed by ISIS in 2014.

Prison Rap: Stories from the Inside, is an accumulated literary forum by one prisoner incarcerated in the Florida Department of Corrections began with the author reaching out to numerous community-based newspapers in hopes of being given an opportunity to express his views and share his personal experiences in life as well as what he has observed and lived through in twenty years in prison. Out of all the query cover letters that were sent to editors across the country, the idea of adding a Prison Rap column drew the attention of only one newspaper -The Miami Times, which ran weekly in the author's own hometown.Stopping the press to make room for a serious weekly discussion about the life of a prisoner, had proven to be a successful move as made evident by the positive feedback in letters submitted to D. Whether one can find pleasure in reading any part of the book is something readers must determine for themselves. What the author can guarantee, though, is that an honest illustration of a prisoner's life will be offered in the book, which he hopes will become etched in the hearts of every soul that judges it.
