Emberly
Unlike other fairy tales, this princess story is actually real! And your daughter is the main character!Imagine reading a "Cinderella-like" fairy tale to your daughter - one that deeply resonates with her strongest hurts and desires. Oh, how she wishes she could be the princess in the story! But at the end she discovers that, unlike other fairy tales, this princess story is actually real and she is the main character. Your daughter doesn't have to pretend to be the princess, she is the princess! And instead of daydreaming an impossible fantasy, she can daydream of a future that will actually happen!I believe fairy tales and princess stories resonate with us because of their similarity to the gospel. In these stories, however, the fictional "Prince Charming" takes the place of Jesus. Consequently, we are taught at a young age that the longing we feel in our hearts is for a human soulmate, when the longing is actually for the eternity we will spend in heaven with Jesus. This message is everywhere - from every form of media. Is it any wonder we grow up looking for a romantic relationship to be our savior? But what if there was a princess tale that told the true love story between Jesus and us? Not only would Christian parents have a deeply resonating "fairy tale" they could feel safe allowing their daughters to read, it would fundamentally change how their daughters view all other princess stories they hear. "Prince Charming" would no longer be seen as a person for them to wait for, but as a metaphor for Jesus Christ. Instead of our daughters growing up seeking a man to fill the God-shaped hole in their hearts, Jesus would be the Savior their hearts seek.It is amazing how well a story like Cinderella could be made to parallel the entire gospel! Kids may not understand all the countless parallels, but through the story they would become intimately familiar with the foundational concepts of Christianity. This would be invaluable as they seek to grow in their faith later on in life, and it would help them avoid many of the common pitfalls into which Christians stumble. Most importantly, such a story would create an almost effortless way for us to teach our kids the gospel and actually lead them to give their lives to Jesus. Parents could read it to their children at bedtime, and churches could use it as a powerful evangelism tool in their children's ministries. Emberly - The Impossible Princess is that story!

Mrs. Buttons and Her Magical Cards
I began telling stories in my early years and yet waited until later in life to put one of my stories in a children's book. The dream to create a book came because a beautiful little baby girl named Clairabelle was born. Over the last eight years, when we had Nana-Clairabelle time, I would tell her of the adventures of Mrs. Buttons. Naturally being the creative, imaginative, artistic child she is, Clairabelle asked many questions, and of course would add to Mrs. Button's adventures. One day I asked her to draw a picture of Mrs. Buttons on a card, and what a beautiful picture she created. Eventually, she decorated Mrs. Buttons' dress with many colorful buttons. I noticed she glued a very special gold-looking button right where she believed Mrs. Button's heart is. Clairabelle, in her excitement, said, "Nana, press the special button and make a wish." As I did, I said, "Clairabelle, this wish comes from deep within my soul." And forevermore, I gave it the name of "Soul Button." I eventually sent the soul button card to a friend. The cards are made thinking of how exceptional the soul button is. It creates a special touch to each card. If you send someone a magical soul button card, imagine a very special wish and tell him or her that the card comes with a wish.I thought it was a great idea to write a story about Mrs. Buttons and all the little children who enjoyed making magical cards and sending them to people they cared about. A Faery Merry Christmas and A Reader in Fae Theology and Folklore
Milly Hope was born in the village of Whimbury to be the Crossover Child of Fae legend. Her destiny is to be able to cross over from human to fae and back again whenever she chooses. But her ability to do that will only be within her powers if the first 'Crossover' takes place before her 7th Birthday. There is a responsibility, therefore, for the fae community of Whimbury to prepare her for this event. She will need to understand the history, legends, myths and folklore of the faeries in order to become truly faery at the right moment. This book of short stories and fae documents is designed to give the reader an insight into those legends and folklore that Milly has to learn, as part of her preparation. They include the Fae Creation legend and popular songs and poems of the fae community, including extracts from the epic prose poem 'Paradise Mislaid'. Many of these have been subsequently adapted and adopted by humans, though very few realise it.Also included here is the story of Milly's first Christmas - her first staging post on the journey to become the Crossover Child.
Oh, Fae
Milly Hope is the Crossover child of fae folklore, but her parents don't know that yet. Of course, they know that their little girl is going to be special - just not exactly how special. To complete the Crossover process, she has to learn how to become fae before her 7th Birthday, and Barry Goodfellow, publican at the Royal Oak, and the rest of the faery community of Whimbury will have their work cut out to help her to do it. First, they have to find the ideal person to teach her about fae history and legends, and then they must decide how much time they have to complete the task. The first Crossover experience must take place at just the right moment. Failure isn't an option. But should they believe the call for urgency, impressed upon them by the tall stranger and his quiet friend, or is the cautionary approach demanded by Eric O'Shy the right one?The human inhabitants of Whimbury know nothing of this dilemma - they have their hands full fighting plans for a lot of new housing in the village, which may affect the Royal Oak itself. All that Miranda and Will Hope know is that their child has a vivid imagination and an apparent ability to communicate, at length, with animals and invisible friends. But will this help her to fulfil her destiny? Oh Fae is the second book of The Crossover series.
