Creationism was initiated by Moses about 3500 years ago. Jewish people have excellent tradition of keeping track of their families. In the Old Testament, there are over 50 references of “generations.” They had an oral tradition called the targum. The six-day creation was recorded in both Genesis and Exodus. The global flood was described in detail in Genesis. About 500 cultures also recorded flood accounts, of which, only the Genesis account is most complete. For thousands of years, most Jews and some gentiles had no problem to believe the six-day creation and the global flood. All New Testament books have part of the flood account. Jesus Christ had testified on the global flood twice in the gospels.
The Tell Mardikh, Ebla consists of over 17,000 cuneiform clay tablets and fragments which were found near Aleppo in Syria during the 60s and 70s. These tablets were dated about a thousand years before Moses. Dr Clifford Wilson, the former Director of Australian Society of Archeology, was partly involved in the excavation of some of these tablets which contain creation and the flood among other historical records.
This book was extracted from the lecture notes of a class at the California International Theological Seminary. The notes are in both English and Chinese. They are over 2000 pages. During all these years, they have published many original research papers in the Creation Research Quarterly. Later, the Institute for Creation Research was organized by Dr. Henry Morris in 1970 in Santee, California. They moved to Dallas Texas with eight full-time staff. The Institute has a museum for the public. Their scientists also published extensively in many fields of science. In 1994, Answers In Genesis was formed by a former science teacher, Ken Ham, at Petersburg, Kentucky. They have a museum, a theme park featuring Noah’s Ark and a planetarium.

A few notes on evolution: The evolution of life on earth is the history of life on earth; the evolution of the earth is the history of the earth; the evolution of the universe is the history of the universe. Evolution is undoubtedly tied to history. However, there are at least six characteristics of history: (1) History is not reversible, i.e., a condition from A to B is not the same as from B to A. When a glass of water is spilled to the ground, the water cannot be recovered from the ground. (2) History is not repeatable. A second century BC Greek philosopher once remarked that one cannot step into the water twice because the configuration of the water has changed when one stepped into the water the second time. (3) When we say, “history repeats itself,” it often refers to human sins are repeated in wars and bloodsheds. (4) Reliable history requires reliable witnesses. What is more reliable than the words of Jesus when He said about the Creation and the Flood? (5) Long ages are less reliable than short ages because we have more confidence in a 4000-year history than in a 4-billion-year history. The longer the time, the less reliable it becomes. (6) More views of a historical event are always more objective than one-sided view. The record of Jesus is viewed in four different perspectives in the four gospels. We need to take the above points in mind when we ponder upon evolution versus creation.
The subject matters are voluminous. Therefore, this book is divided into Volume 1 and Volume 2.
