A Life Worth Living

The book "A Life Worth Living" is a book composed of a collection of poems put together by me. In a time where I had so many emotions bottled up, and I was tired of letting those emotions come up in a negative manner. I chose to turn that negative energy into a positive and productive one. Anger is one of the biggest emotions that would get the best of me. That's how I came up with that quote "Driven by anger influenced by pain hoping for love". I let that quote evolve into this collection that truthfully has given me a lot of joy as well as hope for the future. I transformed this situation I was going through from a negative one to a positive one. I changed my perception of the events in my life to empower me. Not allowing stereotypes define me. So a life worth living is divided in 3 parts.Part 1: Esmeralda in the RoughThis section shares experiences, not just my own but also those I observed around me. It captures the voice within that kept me motivated and positive, especially during times of loneliness and limited human contact. It's about resilience and finding strength in the midst of isolation.Part 2: Lethal WeaponIn this part, I delve into moments of frustration, anger, and the darker side of my thoughts. It reflects a period of internal conflict and defensiveness. Despite the heaviness, when I shared these poems, many women told me they resonated with them and encouraged me to publish them. As raw and dark as these experiences may seem, they are a reality for many, offering a sense of connection and understanding to those who might be feeling the same.Part 3: More Precious Than RubiesThis section reflects the core of who I am and the light that has always guided me. It's about embracing the blessings in my life, choosing positivity, and striving for what is right despite the challenges. It's a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and inner strength, acknowledging that while perfection is unattainable, the ongoing effort to align with a higher power and a brighter future is what truly matters.

The Cambridge Companion to Augustine’s Sermons

2025/06/02 出版

Augustine of Hippo is known for some of the greatest theological masterpieces in Christian history, notably, his Confessions, The Trinity, and The City of God. Over 900 of his sermons, a treasure trove of his insights into God, Scripture, and humanity, have also survived. Given the wide dissemination of many of these texts over the past 1600 years, Augustine is arguably the most influential preacher since the time of the apostles. In recent decades, scholars have paid more attention to his sermons, including those newly discovered, with the result that Augustine's preaching has become increasingly accessible to a broad audience. The Cambridge Companion to Augustine's Sermons furthers this work by offering essays from an international team of experts. It provides a reliable guide for scholars and students of early Christian biblical exegesis, liturgy, doctrine, social practices, and homiletics, as well as for those dedicated to the retrieval of early preaching for the Church today.

A Global Defence

Eliva Press 出版
2025/06/02 出版

Every culture in the past has battled issues that oppose the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the early church, apologists combatted heresies and those who were antagonistic toward the gospel. During the Enlightenment, culture was dealing with unbelief (atheism) and Deism. Modernity dealt with rationalism, and postmodernism with relativism. In other words, all cultures throughout history had to deal with philosophies and ideas that ran counter to the gospel. Today, there are new problems that need to be confronted. This study wants to clarify the task that we are called to defend the message of hope that is found in Christ from a biblical and, above all, a Christo-centric perspective.
