The Intellectual Dark Web
Challenging the restrictive and relativistic intellectual and cultural orthodoxies on the left that engulfed universities, the media, and big tech in the 2010s, the Intellectual Dark Web - a loose collective of politically diverse intellectuals, commentators, and scholars critical of political correctness, identity politics, and cancel culture - relied on alternative platforms like podcasts, digital magazines, and YouTube to advocate for free speech, universal rights, and individual liberty. While the term is most commonly identified with Jordan Peterson, Sam Harris, Ben Shapiro, Claire Lehmann, Douglas Murray, and Joe Rogan, the group's concerns extended more broadly to include a wide range of individuals, including Steven Pinker, Jonathan Haidt, and Elon Musk. Although its coherence began to unravel in the early 2020s due to internal differences, such as over the response to COVID-19 and climate change, it played a determining role in changing the politico-cultural landscape, influencing both electorally successful right-wing platforms and playing a major role in the rise of an independent media ecosystem that is today in many ways more influential than mainstream media.

Archaeology and the World of Jesus
Southwestern Journal of Theology 2025 Book Award (Biblical Reference / Biblical Backgrounds)A fundamental principle of biblical interpretation is the importance of context--historical, literary, and canonical. But an often-neglected source of context for understanding Scripture is the field of archaeology. The physical and cultural world we inhabit affects us deeply, and that was no less true for the original writers and readers of Scripture. Archaeology provides insights into important questions like, What did these believers see day to day? What messages did they receive from their environment? What social practices influenced them?In the second of three planned volumes, New Testament scholar David deSilva uses archaeological findings to explore places that provide important windows into Jesus's religious, political, and cultural environment. This visually compelling and beautifully designed book contains over 250 full-color photographs of sites and artifacts. The author focuses on the fruits of archaeology pertaining to sites associated with Jesus's travels and ministry and their connections with specific Gospel texts. This book helps readers visualize the early first-century environment of Jesus, his opponents, and his followers. This volume will be an important supplemental textbook for courses on the New Testament and for anyone who wants to better understand the lived context of Jesus and his audiences.

Britain’s Place in the Great Plan
Now of Great Britain, I ask: What is her place in the Plan? Great Britain has a possibility before her, and a power of accomplishing that possibility, which are not so great in any other Nation in the world. I will tell you exactly what I mean. When I was here in 1919 it was just in the crash of the Russian Revolution, and I ventured to say to a great body of Trade Unionists and working men that Britain was the one country in the world, I believed, where by training and self-discipline and the power of combination in the unions, and the learning in the unions of discipline, there was good hope that this tremendous transformation might be made without revolution or violence. Things are not as hopeful to-day as they were then; and largely because the sense of duty, and of discipline and loyalty to leaders is lacking; these things have broken down very much amongst those who were the most splendid examples of them a few years ago; and that because a class is taking the place of the Nation and the power of the class-what they are pleased to call 44the dictation of the proletariat-is striving to compel the Nation. There is no class, autocratic or democratic or proletariat or monarchic, that has the right to dictate to the Nation and say what it should do. It is not because they are many that they have the right to kill Liberty. Not because they are strong and can starve the Nation into submission have they the right to tyrannise. I protested against it when employers tried to starve the workmen into breaking unionism; and I protest against it as much to-day, when the strong by numbers try to starve the country, because they are engaged in quarrels with their employers. I believe it is possible that these dangers can be overcome, and I want to put to you as my last point that the tendencies everywhere are not only towards Union within the Nation, but of Union of larger and larger Nations as we go on in evolution. In the past those larger Unions have always been made by military force, by power, by trampling on the weaker Nations and incorporating them with the stronger by annexation of other peoples' countries. That they call annexation rather than robbery, because it is a prettier word and covers over what really has occurred. They have been made by aggressive war, which is murder on a vaster scale, which is the outcome of hatred, and therefore destructive and demoralising; and by diplomacy, which is too often only a many-syllabled word for untruth and intrigue
Discovering the Last God
In this work, Prabhuji guides us from the conception of a personal God, through the notion of an abstract Being, until the discovery of the Last God. Following the reflections of Martin Heidegger, we will explore the ontological depths of Being. On this journey, we will see that the divine transcends categories and concepts. By recognizing the limits of human comprehension, the humility necessary to access the presence of the sacred will arise. Open to the unknown, we will explore the paths of contemplation and meditation. Discovering the Last God is immersing oneself in the absolutely unknowable and unveiling the deepest mysteries of consciousness.Prabhuji is a writer, abstract painter, an avadhūta, a universalist Advaita mystic, faithful official member of Hinduism, the creator of the Retroprogressive Path, and a realized master. When he was eight years old, he had a mystical experience that motivated his search for the Truth, or the Ultimate Reality. This transformed his life into an authentic inner and outer pilgrimage. He has absorbed the teachings of great masters, shamans, priests, machis, shifus, roshis, shaykhs, yogis, pastors, rabbis, kabbalists, monks, gurus, philosophers, sages, and saints whom he personally visited during his years of searching. For him, awakening at the level of consciousness, or the transcendence of the egoic phenomenon, is the next step in humanity's evolution. Prabhuji chose to retire from society and lead the life of a hermit. His days are spent in solitude, praying, writing, painting, and meditating in silence and contemplation.
