Unstoppable Leaders
When storms hit, most people run for shelter. But like the mighty bison of Yellowstone that charge directly into approaching storms, true leaders do something extraordinary-they run toward the chaos. In these pages, twenty-three men share their raw, unfiltered stories of adversity transformed into opportunity. These aren't tales of fearless heroes, but of faithful men who discovered that God's strength is perfected in weakness. Each story reveals how ordinary challenges become extraordinary breakthroughs when faced with Biblical courage.Jesus modeled this counterintuitive leadership-touching lepers, confronting injustice, and choosing the cross over comfort. He calls you to the same radical faith that turns setbacks into comebacks and obstacles into opportunities. As storms come through your life, the question is: As the Unstoppable Leader God has called you to be, will you flee, or will you harness His divine power, Pressing Forward with Power?

Insane for the Light
A spiritual journey through life's final years and its "mellowing of souls"--the long-awaited conclusion of Father Rolheiser's trilogy of modern spiritual classics, following The Holy Longing and Sacred Fire "Ronald Rolheiser is one of the great Christian spiritual writers of our time, as well as one of my own personal favorites."--James Martin, SJ, author of Jesus: A Pilgrimage Each phase of life presents us with its own unique opportunity to connect with God and to bless those around us--even and perhaps especially in those later decades when careers, raising kids, and mortgage payments are behind us. So argues beloved author Ronald Rolheiser. During life's first years, we embark on a search for meaning and discover in ourselves a profound, unquenchable thirst for the Divine. And when we reach adulthood, we realize that we are called to give our lives away―to our spouses, children, careers, friends, and neighbors in need. But in the end, we must learn to let it all go. In this highly anticipated conclusion to Father Rolheiser's spiritual classics, The Holy Longing and Sacred Fire, and with characteristic attentiveness and care, Rolheiser accompanies readers on a spiritual journey through life's final years and the mellowing of our souls. In these years, bitterness can give way to forgiveness, mere imagination to profound and subtle faith, wishful optimism to virtuous hope, and control to surrender. Readers will learn to see in Jesus a model for a spirituality of holy passivity rather than activity and find in him the courage to overcome the darkest nights of faith. Drawing on the work of John of the Cross and Henri Nouwen, Rolheiser outlines a spirituality capable of giving away one's death―and by that a spirituality of truly living.
Beatitudes and Terror
Throughout history, Scripture has demonstrated its enduring significance by addressing humanity's varied historical situations and social contexts. During times of struggle, Christians seek guidance and answers in God's word. Moments of existential crisis-triggered by conflicts, shifts in cultural paradigms, or sociopolitical changes-encourage fresh interpretations of established theological concepts and biblical exegesis. In this timely and important work, Ukrainian evangelical theologians come together to explore the Beatitudes as a source of spiritual and ethical guidance for Christians facing the major upheaval of revolution, war, and natural disaster. Historically, Christians have regarded the Beatitudes as a key to understanding Scripture, an ideal model for those spiritually rejuvenated through faith in Christ's life, death, and resurrection, and as essential virtues for nurturing personal spirituality and social engagement justice.

But whenone partner opts out of mutuality, a counterfeit covenant can arise-where submission becomes subjugation, not uplift. We can be drawn so gradually into the counterfeit covenant we don't even realise it's operational. Instead of armour-bearing, we've fallen into toxic enabling. Pushed into the role of 'saviour', we've become our partner's false refuge and are expected to sort out any crisis. Staying Joyfully Married...My Little Book of "What-Nots"
Staying Joyfully Married...My Little Book of "What-Nots," is a book about 'what not' to do in marriage. Under the obedience of The Holy Spirit, I was instructed to share the 'struggles' of my marriage journey. I may not be able to tell you what to do. But I can share with you 'what not' to do in order to help ensure that you stay joyfully married. These are my little 'charms' that have been hand-picked from my tailor-made garden. The enemy thought he was going to use my little 'charms' for my demise, but God saw differently. God is using these same little 'charms' for His glory. And now, these little 'charms' have become my testimony. My testimony that God can use even me, in my mistakes. My testimony that God can use even me, in my brokenness. My testimony that God can use even me, in my insecurities. My testimony that God can use even me, in my vulnerabilities. My testimony that God can use even me, in my self-destructive choices. I do not know what my future holds, but I do know 'Who' holds my future. And I anxiously await the next 'Big Reveal' that God has ordained for my life.

All Is Not Loss
Grief is not a rare visitor - it is a quiet companion, woven into the fabric of everyday life. From birth to death, loss shadows us, often just beneath the surface. In this deeply compassionate book, Duncan MacLaren explores the many faces of grief - not only bereavement, but also the quieter sorrows of parting, regret, failure, nostalgia, and shame. With insight and sensitivity, he invites us to reconsider grief not as a sign of a broken world, but as a doorway to deeper connection, understanding, and spiritual growth. Ten chapters examine aspects of loss that are widely recognised: parting, regret, nostalgia, failure, bereavement, shame, ageing, dependence, mortality, and disenchantment. Far from offering easy answers, All is Not Loss draws on the lived experiences of those who have been profoundly marked by loss - and yet have found their lives unexpectedly expanded. MacLaren offers a hopeful vision: that even in our pain, we may discover that all is not loss.
The 39 Articles in Contemporary Anglicanism
Are the Thirty-Nine Articles just dusty relics of the Reformation - or a living treasure for today's church?Michael Jensen and Tom Frame argue the latter. With clarity and conviction, they show how these 450-year-old statements of faith still speak powerfully to the challenges facing Anglicans now. Far from being an awkward historical curiosity, the Articles are rooted in Scripture, brimming with theological insight, and vital for anyone who wants to understand Anglican identity.Accessible and thought-provoking, this book is for clergy, students, and lay people who want to rediscover the Articles - and to see how they might shape Anglican faith for the future.
Worship or Suicide
There is a growing unease about the perceived decay of Western civilization. Intellectuals ruminate about a post-liberal future and an atmosphere of dread permeates the public sphere. One senses that the old is fading while the emerging order is not in sight. Worship or Suicide offers both an account of how Western civilization came to flourish and an explanation as to why its decay was already present in its success. Every civilization is rooted in foundational myths and rituals. The removal of the Western roots from the Judeo-Christian soil leads toward the withering of the social order. Other gods move into the vacuum and transform the West into soft totalitarianism. Thus, the church both is responsible for social decay through its idolatry and also contains the potential for renewal. Yet the solution does not lie in the instrumental use of religion. Instead, the church gives birth to a flourishing society paradoxically: By excluding the immanent order and solely focusing upon the worship of the triune God, the church unintentionally redeems society from its suicidal drive.
Rerum Novarum
The virtues of justice and charity are essential for addressing social and economic inequalities. In his encyclical letter Rerum Novarum, Pope Leo XIII takes up the condition of the working classes and the challenges facing the world following the Industrial Revolution, focusing on the relationship between labor and capital, the rights of workers, and the role of the Church in promoting justice. Promulgated in 1891, this foundational text has shaped Catholic social teaching and influenced more than a century of the Church's balanced approach to defending workers' rights while upholding the right to private property and rejecting socialism.Following the election of Robert Francis Prevost, who, as the 267th pope, took the name Leo XIV, there has been renewed interest in Rerum Novarum and the ways in which this groundbreaking encyclical may influence the pontificate of the first American pope. Just as Leo XIII spoke to a rapidly changing world in need of spiritual guidance and clear direction in this encyclical, today we face a world grappling with the life-changing effects of artificial intelligence and in desperate need of truth and charity.
The Spiritual Director
Spiritual direction is a vocation rooted in presence, attention, and contemplative encounter. In The Spiritual Director, Julia Mourant invites practitioners into a deeper understanding of this sacred ministry, embracing its charism as a way of being rather than a set of skills. She explores the distinctive nature of spiritual direction as both vocation and spiritual gift, grounded in experiential formation, theological reflection, and the capacity for personal growth and transformation. Rather than offering a manual on how to 'do' spiritual direction, this book opens a contemplative space for readers to reflect on their own journey. It addresses common themes that arise in training and practice, and considers the skills, interventions, and ethical foundations that support good practice. Throughout, the spiritual director is encouraged to seek accountability, support, and ongoing discernment. A guide not just for the mind, but also for the heart, The Spiritual Director offers an essential companion for those who walk alongside others in the sacred work of spiritual accompaniment.
Encountering Pope Leo XIV
Part journalistic narrative, part diaristic travelogue, and part extended theological rumination on the significance of the papacy for Baptists and other free church Christians, Encountering Pope Leo XIV takes readers along with the author on a journey to Rome to follow the College of Cardinals of the Catholic Church in their preparations for the conclave to elect the successor to Pope Francis, experience the conclave itself and the election of American Cardinal Robert Prevost as Pope Leo XIV, observe the beginnings of Leo XIV's pontificate, and ponder its significance not only for Catholics but for all Christians.
... Because of Jesus
Why does one man's life still matter 2000 years later?Because of Jesus cuts through confusion to explore the pivotal moments that changed everything forever. With pastoral simplicity and theological depth, this engaging book provides a comprehensive examination of Christ's work, placing these foundational events into biblical context leading to practical application. This study guides the reader through the four major pillars of Christ's ministry, revealing why the salvation and hope of humanity rests entirely on the person of Jesus: The Incarnation: The book begins by examining the meaning of Jesus' miraculous birth and the wondrous implications of the Incarnation, confronting the reality of humanity's sin and why God needed to take on the human condition. Readers reflect on the massive, multiverse-breaking paradox that the infinite God became infant man, establishing the necessary foundation for salvation. The Incarnation (a truth celebrated during Advent) illuminates the fact that our value is founded in God and grounded in grace. The Crucifixion: The study dives into the profound hope found in Christ's crucifixion, revealing the utter wickedness of rebellious man in murdering the Messiah. It details the gory horror of the cross, emphasizing the glory of Christ's necessary obedience, which resulted in the satisfaction of God's judgment, the defeat of Satan's rebellion, and the certainty of sin's ruination. On the cross (the central focus of Lent), Jesus bore the eternal wrath of God that sinners deserved, acting as our willing substitute. The Ascension and Return: The book concludes by gazing in wonder at Christ's ascension and the future certainty of his triumphant return. Having conquered and risen, Christ is crowned King of Kings and seated at the right hand of the Father, from where he now rules and reigns in might and majesty. Because Christ is the reigning Lord and the returning Lord, believers are encouraged to be obedient to his calling in the meantime, going out to make disciples.By synthesizing these pivotal theological moments, Because of Jesus invites you to discover the real story of Jesus of Nazareth and why everything changed because of this one person. When you encounter the risen and reigning Jesus for yourself, you'll never be the same again. This book will speak to the curious seeker, the unconvinced skeptic, and the growing Christian alike. It is an ideal resource for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Christ's finished work, encouraging readers to grow in Christ and go with Christ until the end of the age.

Baal and the Gods of More
Why the Endless Pursuit of "More" Won't Save the ChurchIn an era of church decline, pastors and ministry leaders face intense pressure to grow--more attendance, more influence, more reach, more budget. But what if this relentless pursuit of "more" is actually a form of modern idolatry? In Baal and the Gods of More, leading practical theologian Andrew Root challenges everything you thought you knew about church growth and success. You'll discover how to● identify the hidden idolatry embedded in modern church growth strategies and learn why bigger isn't always better in God's kingdom;● understand the historic roots of America's church growth obsession through economic theory, cultural philosophy, and the industrial revolution's lasting impact;● break free from toxic comparison and the exhausting cycle of innovation, influence-seeking, and numbers-driven ministry that's burning out church leaders;● rediscover biblical wisdom from 1 and 2 Kings that reveals how ancient Israel's fertility god worship mirrors today's church growth addiction; and● embrace a radical alternative focused on divine action, relational encounter, and theological depth.Root reveals how Protestant churches have become dangerously dependent on growth-driven stabilization, a mindset inherited from the industrial revolution's golden era. He draws striking parallels between ancient Israel's worship of Baal and other fertility gods and the contemporary church's obsession with expansion. Just as the Israelites turned to false gods promising abundance, today's church often looks to secular methodologies, innovation strategies, and growth techniques as saviors. This provocative book argues that creativity, innovation, and endless strategizing won't save declining churches. Instead, Root calls the church back to dependence on divine action and genuine relational encounter with the Word of God.Perfect for pastors, church leaders, students, and anyone concerned about authentic ministry in a post-Christian culture, this book offers a theologically grounded path forward that trades growth metrics for God's presence.

In How Church Could (Literally) Save Your Life, Rebecca McLaughlin explores this compelling data from a Christian perspective. Avoiding prosperity-gospel guarantees of health in this life, she shares the significant and science-backed benefits of worshiping God in community and the good news of Jesus, the Great Physician. Written both for skeptics and believers who may have stopped going to church, this brief, accessible guide invites readers to discover the true source of abundant life. Brief and Informative: Explains key data about the positive effects of church attendance on a person's physical and mental well-being Accessible Invitation to Church: Written for anyone who is not currently attending, including atheists, skeptics, and believers who don't have a church community Timely: Addresses the negative effects that secularism and declining church attendance have had on modern culture and offers hope Practical Next Steps: A QR code leads readers to a webpage where they can find a local, Bible-teaching church A Great Outreach Opportunity: This short book is a convenient resource that pastors and ministries can distribute widely (accompanying tract available separately)
Without a Mediator?
Will Christ's mediation ever end? This question is often misunderstood. In Without a Mediator?, Michael Richards explores the idea that there will be a time when believers must stand without Christ as their mediator. He clarifies that while Christ is our only mediator and essential for reconciling us to God due to the separation caused by sin, His mediatorial role will eventually conclude. However, Richards emphasises that Christ's presence and love will always remain with us. The pamphlet aims to provide hope and clarity, encouraging readers to trust in God's promises and strive for spiritual growth, much like the biblical figure of Job.
Did Christianity Replace Judaism?
"Alan Mitchell here offers an excellent introduction to the meaning, history, and problems of supersessionism. He expertly explains why the texts of the New Testament do not espouse replacement theology. He also shows how contemporary Catholic teaching both repudiates the idea and invites renewed Jewish-Christian dialogue. Anyone wanting to explore these important issues will benefit from this brief and informative book."--David M. Moffitt, PhD, professor of New Testament and early Christianity, University of St Andrews"In a season when antisemitism is again gaining social acceptance among the cultured elite, Alan Mitchell's brief but authoritative study of supersessionism--antisemitism's Christian cousin--offers the sort of antidote that genuine historical analysis can provide. He shows how this theological distortion arose, not within Christianity's founding compositions, but in second-century polemics, and how it continued to flourish for ages on the basis of ignorance and bias, only finding partial rejection in more recent official Catholic pronouncements. This book should be required reading for every Christian, and above all, every pastor and preacher."--Luke Timothy Johnson, Robert W. Woodruff Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins, Emeritus, Emory University"At a time when Jewish-Christian relations face multiple challenges, Alan Mitchell offers a wide-ranging and far-reaching critique of the traditional Christian practice of interpreting the Bible against the Jewish people. Based on a careful reading of the New Testament, he challenges the traditional claim that Christianity has displaced the Jewish tradition and offers renewed ways of interpreting scripture to support Jewish-Christian harmony and understanding. This timely contribution will appeal to a wide range of readers."--Leo D. Lefebure, Georgetown University"Impressively informed by both historical and exegetical insight, this study provides a persuasive assessment of what Alan Mitchell regards as the problematic application of supersessionist theology to specific writings of the New Testament. At the same time, Mitchell forthrightly engages with the early and regrettable emergence of supersessionist patterns of thinking beginning in the second century and the attendant rejection of formative Christianity's inseparable bond with its Jewish heritage brought in its wake. This scholarly study provides an excellent and accessible foundation for the continued ecumenical need both to discern the roots of supersessionist thinking in early Christianity and to highlight the tragic ways in which such thinking constitutes a betrayal of Jewish and Christian identity alike."--Kevin B McCruden, PhD, Professor, Religious Studies and Flannery Chair in Christian Theology, Gonzaga University"In this concise and accessible book, Alan Mitchell presents a wealth of texts charting changing Christian perspectives on Judaism from the New Testament to Vatican II and beyond. The book combines coherent narrative, clear exposition, and extensive citation, especially of harder-to-access texts. Invaluable for Roman Catholics--and all Christians and interested others--who seek a better understanding of this most pressing issue."--Nicholas J. Moore, St John's College, Durham University, UKAlan C Mitchell, who holds a PhD from Yale University, is associate professor of New Testament and Christian origins at Georgetown University and director of the Reverend Joseph A. Fitzmyer, SJ, Institute on Sacred Scripture at Georgetown University. He has published numerous articles on various New Testament topics and books such as 1 Corinthians, Luke, Acts of the Apostles, and Hebrews.+

Dilexi Te
In his first apostolic exhortation, Dilexi Te ("I have loved you"), Pope Leo XIV focuses on poverty and love for the poor. The Holy Father signed this first magisterial document of his pontificate on October 4, 2025, the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. The document's title is reminiscent of the fourth and final encyclical of Pope Francis, Dilexit Nos, on the human and divine love of the heart of Jesus Christ, released in October 2024. Dilexi Te, begun by Pope Francis before his death and completed by Pope Leo XIV, turns our attention to how we can become a church for the poor.In Dilexi Te, Pope Leo XIV reflects on Saint Francis and his radical life of poverty. Like Saint Francis, we must seek to imitate Christ by detaching ourselves from earthly glory and possessions to better serve God and our neighbor, especially the poor and most vulnerable among us.
Within This Covenant
Within This Covenant examines the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, the role of the believer in the sacrament and within the Christian community. For many Christians the Lord's Supper, also called Communion, has become a practice of tradition rather than the rich fullness of devotion. Beginning with the bread and the wine, Eileen Moore looks closely at the Covenant we enter when we accept salvation and forgiveness from God, before thinking about how we examine ourselves before taking Communion. She believes the command to examine ourselves helps to restore relationships within our communities, drawing us back to worship and service as God intended. Moore finally reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Due to her experience as the daughter of Protestant missionaries, Eileen Moore has long considered the practice of Communion and its meaning in her own life. Her stories add a rich color to the discussion of the sacrament and help us to pause as we consider what the Lord's Supper means to each of us. Within This Covenant calls us to fully celebrate this sacrament apart from the distraction of life, focusing our attention on the fullness of faith that God has given his church in their individual communities.

For the Love of Women
If we hope to fight and eventually heal from misogyny, we must first be able to identify and understand it.Despite the undeniable progress for women and girls in the 20th and 21st centuries, misogyny is still alive and well in today's culture--often in ways that are more subtle and more insidious than the outright sexism of the past, and in spaces that we overlook or excuse as normative.Misogyny has shape-shifted through the generations while maintaining a consistent through-line: it blinds individuals and cultures from seeing women as equal image-bearers, fosters hierarchies rather than partnerships, disdains vulnerability, and prevents all of us--women and men alike--from fully thriving. In For the Love of Women Dorothy Littell Greco draws on in-depth research, interviews, biblical concepts, and vulnerable personal experience to explore how misogyny continues to impact six spheres of contemporary culture: HealthcareGovernmentThe workplaceMedia and entertainmentThe churchIntimate relationships While recent movements succeeded in raising consciousness and initiating important changes connected to misogynistic practices, alarming trends and rhetoric are on the rise in America today. We still have a lot of work to do--and the battle is more urgent than ever.Like other deeply rooted, systemic injustices, misogyny is neither morally neutral nor random. It's pernicious and calculated. For the Love of Women is for anyone who wants to educate, inspire, and empower themselves and women collectively to affect real change for everyone's benefit.

Fighting for the Ones We Love
Don't Let the Unseen Battle Sabotage Your Relationships. How can we keep from continually fighting with and hurting people we love the most? How can we gain and maintain peace in all our relationships? By equipping ourselves to fight on God's side in the spiritual battle instead of fighting with the people we love.Scripture tells us Satan-our common enemy-seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. That's his goal with our relationships too. Yet you and I can only win this spiritual battle if we're aware of it (unmask our enemy) and are willing to fight God's way (defeat him). The enemy of our souls doesn't work through obvious attacks of evil, but by luring us away from God, one small, seemingly innocent choice at a time. It's not long before we find ourselves aiding and abetting Satan in his mission to hurt the ones we love because we are unprotected by the armor of God, unaware of how he operates, or unwise with our choices.Mary uses personal examples, practical advice and biblical insights to communicate what she learned about winning the daily spiritual battles through Bible study, obedience, perseverance, and faith in the One who already won the war. Through your own battle readiness, improved relationships, and increased peace, you'll demonstrate God's love to a world that desperately needs to see it. Together as God's army we can answer His call to advance His kingdom on earth and love others into it.
