Perspectives on Pastoral Ministry
"Pastoral care" is still a high priority in a world which is no longer familiar with the church's ministry. Though the church has receded into the background, her vision for human life has not. Human beings have retained their unique value within our post-religious world! The culture is still convinced of the need for compassion even if there is less consensus about what that should look like. This publication shares that common vision for the care and nurture of human beings, but with the added conviction that Christianity's unique role in fostering such a worldview makes it the ideal resource for figuring out what will enable human life to flourish. Over the span of this book, readers will learn about the history of pastoral care, what it actually entails, and what it is aiming towards. All of the writers have proven pastoral experience, and they bring their knowledge to bear on virtually every major expression of pastoral ministry. This is an ideal book for all who care for others but especially for those exercising ministry in churches, seminaries, chaplaincies, hospitals, or pastoral teams.
Words of Grace
The book offers 52 reflections - one for each week of the calendar year. Each reflection considers a 'word of grace' which regularly recurs in the Bible: all, thanks, joy, peace, love, forgiveness, anxiety, and the words 'Christmas' and 'Easter'. These words capture key concepts of human living, and the core beliefs of Christian faith. The book's purpose is not to argue the validity of each concept. It presents each word as a coherent idea of Christian tradition occurring in passages of the Bible, songs, and scholarly references. The book was prompted by the author's personal journey of human living and search for understanding.

Do Pets Go To Heaven?
Our pets are more than companions-they are heroes, partners, and loyal friends. Some serve as police dogs, soldiers' allies in times of war, guides for the blind, or lifesavers in emergencies. Others simply bring comfort and joy to our everyday lives. But no matter their role, one day we must say goodbye. This heartbreaking reality raises questions that touch the very core of our hearts: Do our beloved animals go to Heaven? Do they have souls? This book explores these questions from a Biblical perspective and offers insights and thoughtful reflection for every pet owner seeking peace after loss.Losing a cherished pet is never easy, but understanding what may lie beyond can provide comfort and hope. This subject resonates with animal lovers everywhere-reminding us all of the enduring bond we share with our furry, feathered, and loyal companions, and the even more enduring promises of God.
The 48 Laws of Power Biblically
This book is a sober, unapologetic examination of power-how it operates in the world, how it shapes lives and institutions, and how the believer is meant to steward it without forfeiting integrity or eternal purpose. It does not chase mysticism or cloak itself in abstraction. It speaks plainly, biblically, and strategically to those who refuse to live na簿ve, passive, or unprepared in a world governed by influence, authority, and consequence.Rooted in Scripture and disciplined by Christian ethics, The 48 Laws of Power Biblically reclaims the conversation of power from the secular and the manipulative, returning it to its rightful Owner. Power is shown not as a carnal prize, but as a divine trust-dangerous in the hands of the immature, yet transformative when wielded by the sanctified. Each law is reframed through biblical narrative, exposing where men prospered through wisdom and where they fell through excess, pride, or disobedience. This is a book for leaders, stewards, builders, and those called to occupy influence-whether in ministry, governance, business, family, or culture. It confronts false humility, rebukes cowardice disguised as holiness, and calls believers to a maturity that can carry authority without being corrupted by it. Here, strategy is married to Scripture, discernment to discipline, and courage to obedience. This is not a manual for domination, but a guide for righteous rule. Not a call to ambition, but to stewardship. Not an escape from the world, but instruction for standing firm within it. Power belongs to God-but He entrusts it to those who fear Him, know His Word, and are willing to bear its weight.

Cross-ing America
We have not been wandering in the wilderness these past seven years. But we have zig-zagged around the nation, again and again. If one drew lines on a map that traced our routes, those lines would look like we were wandering. Up and down, back and forth and all around in the United States of America, we have traveled. We have stood on countless patches of cracked concrete holding up crosses and leading people to the Lord.We have not been wandering, though. We have been following. We have been following the leading of the Holy Spirit and responding to every opportunity that came our way. If a church, for example, invited Leo to preach or to present "The Door," we accepted the invitation. Along the way, there and back, we would do street ministry in the towns on our route. We would also try to find other churches that might want him to preach while we were in the neighborhood. God has honored that approach. More than 5,000 people have prayed to be saved after we shared the Gospel with them during the first seven years of this ministry. These conversions have taken place outside the walls of a church for the most part, occurring mostly on the side of the road or in abandoned parking lots. All glory to God!
The God of Joy and the Problem of Pain
Why would a good God allow so much suffering? Why doesn't God take away our pain? Some say he allows it. Others call it punishment. Still others dare to name it a gift. But what is the truth--and how do we live under the weight of suffering that seems senseless, tragic, or cruel? In a world marked by natural disasters, devastating illness, war, abuse, and untimely death, many wonder why an all-powerful, loving God wouldn't simply make a better world. Couldn't he have prevented it all? With clarity, compassion, and the depth of Catholic tradition, the author invites readers into the heart of the Church's wisdom on human suffering, an age-old mystery that touches every life. This book explores: The nature of evil and why God permits itWhether suffering has meaning--and if so, what might that beHow Jesus transforms pain from withinWhat it means to believe in a God of joy in a world of sorrowWhether you are struggling personally or seeking to understand the suffering of others, this book offers a faithful, honest, and hope-filled perspective for those who dare to ask: Why?

The Mediator
The inspiration for this book came from a video home group series we did at Harvest Church in Trucksville, Pennsylvania, entitled "Heaven on Earth."When you think about it, a major theme of the Bible is bringing heaven back to earth, mankind back to God, and all of us back together, never separated by death again. From Adam to Abraham to Moses and the law, the prophets, the gospel, the New Testament letters, and revelation, all of it is directed toward ending the way God started it. Only this time, the ending will truly be the end.As the apostle John says in revelation, 21: 1, 3-4, "I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and I heard a loud voice from heaven, saying, 'Behold, look, the tabernacle, the dwelling place of God is with mankind again and there shall be no more death, no more sorrow, no more crying, and no more pain' "ever again. The End!

Intercessory Prayer Isn't Pretty
Intercessory prayer is not emotional release. It is not performance. And it is certainly not pretty.Intercessory Prayer Isn't Pretty confronts one of the most misunderstood aspects of the Christian life-prayer that carries responsibility. In this sobering and timely work, Dr. Barbara Palmer pulls back the curtain on intercession as heaven intends it to function: disciplined, discerning, strategic, and weighty.Drawing from Scripture, spiritual formation, and years of lived experience, this book reframes intercession as the situation room of heaven-a place where watchmen are trained to listen before speaking, discern before reacting, and respond with authority rather than emotion. Readers are challenged to move beyond worship as an endpoint, beyond emotional intensity as a measure of effectiveness, and into a mature understanding of assignment, posture, and stewardship. This is not a book for casual readers. It is a training manual for those who sense they have been entrusted with spiritual responsibility but have lacked language, structure, or clarity. Through themes such as entering the Holy of Holies, DEFCON intercession levels, assignment-based prayer, and sustained endurance, Dr. Palmer equips intercessors to pray accurately without burnout and to stand faithfully without recognition. If you are looking for prayer that feels powerful, this book may unsettle you.If you are looking for prayer that positions you responsibly, it will transform you.Intercession is not pretty. But it is trusted work.
Intentional Intercession
Discover the kind of prayer that changes everything. In Intentional Intercession, bestselling author Sherry Weddell (Forming Intentional Disciples) reveals a transformative truth hidden in plain sight: Jesus Christ is actively interceding for the world at every moment -- and he invites you to join him.Far from routine petitions or memorized devotions, apostolic intercession is bold, outward-facing, and deeply aligned with God's saving purposes. Drawing on Sacred Scripture, the Catechism, the wisdom of the saints, and astonishing real-world stories, this book shows how we can become powerful collaborators in Christ's mission through intentional, Spirit-led prayer. If you've ever longed to see God move -- more visibly, more powerfully, more personally -- in your life, your parish, and the world, this book is your invitation. Step into your role in the communion of saints. Pray as Jesus prays. And watch what happens when you dare to ask for more.
Go
The church is struggling to find relevance in today's world. Society is changing, with currents swirling like a perfect storm-a clash of sacred and secular. Christians must once again take on the task of being a missional people. The aim of GO is simple: to mobilize and unleash Christians--maybe one last time--as a missional people in their world, a gospel voice and a gospel presence, with the primary task of making disciples and sharing the only Good News that can save the world and humanity. The future is not bleak, but bright with divine power available to Christians through the Holy Spirit, where they can once again become missional and live out their calling to be the transforming agents in the world. Not just across oceans, but across streets and cities. At its heart, GO involves recovering essential characteristics not only relevant for engaging a postmodern world but also timeless in their fidelity to the heart of the gospel, which is the advancement of the coming kingdom. This inspirational resource will help Christians navigate these changes more effectively.
Defending the Case for Christ
Is belief in Jesus Christ intellectually defensible in a modern, evidence driven world, or does faith require setting reason aside? This book takes that question seriously and refuses to settle for easy answers. Instead of asking readers to believe first and think later, it invites them into a careful, methodical investigation of the most important claim in human history. Drawing inspiration from the investigative approach popularized by Lee Strobel, Defending the Case for Christ examines the historical, archaeological, textual, medical, and philosophical evidence surrounding Jesus of Nazareth. It explores whether Jesus truly lived, whether the Gospels can be trusted as historical sources, whether His claims about Himself were misunderstood or exaggerated, and whether the crucifixion, burial, empty tomb, and resurrection testimony stand up to rigorous scrutiny. Skeptical objections are not brushed aside but addressed directly, thoughtfully, and respectfully. This book moves step by step through the evidence, weighing alternative explanations and asking one central question throughout: what explanation best accounts for all the facts without forcing the evidence to fit a preconceived conclusion? From Roman records and Jewish sources to early creeds, eyewitness testimony, and the explosive rise of the early church, each chapter builds a cumulative case that challenges both casual dismissal and blind belief. Written in a clear, conversational, and engaging style, this book is designed for seekers, skeptics, students, and believers alike. It does not assume prior faith, nor does it shy away from the personal implications of its conclusions. Instead, it shows that faith and reason are not enemies, and that evidence still matters when asking ultimate questions about truth, meaning, and hope. If you have ever wondered whether Christianity can withstand honest investigation, whether belief in the resurrection is rational, or whether Jesus truly is who He claimed to be, this book offers a compelling and accessible exploration of the evidence. The case is presented carefully. The verdict is yours to consider.

Transformed by Love. Empowered to Serve
Transformed by Love. Empowered to Serve challenges contemporary assumptions about leadership by returning to the model taught and embodied by Jesus Christ. In a church culture often influenced by efficiency, authority, charisma, and measurable outcomes, this book calls leaders back to the radical simplicity of Christlike servanthood.Drawing on key biblical texts, practical ministry experience, and reflective questions for further study, Graeme and Julia Cann explore servanthood not as a leadership style or organisational strategy, but as a way of life shaped by humility, obedience, and sacrificial love. The book addresses the subtle ways power, control, unresolved pain, and self-effort can undermine healthy leadership and damage Christian community.Written for pastors, church leaders, ministry teams, and committed believers, this book offers both theological depth and practical insight. Each chapter encourages readers to examine their motivations, relationships, and practices, and to rediscover servanthood as the Church's defining witness in the world.Transformed by Love. Empowered to Serve is an invitation to be transformed by love and empowered to serve-so that leadership in the Church reflects the heart, character, and example of Jesus.

Healing Sanctuary
Healing Sanctuary: Finding Peace After Church Hurt is a compassionate and faith-centered guide for anyone who has been wounded within the very place meant to provide refuge, healing, and love-the church.Written from lived experience and grounded in Scripture, this book addresses the often-unspoken pain of church hurt: betrayal by leadership, judgment from fellow believers, exclusion from ministry, spiritual abuse, and the quiet suffering that follows. Rather than dismissing this pain, Healing Sanctuary validates it-while offering a clear, redemptive path forward.Through honest testimony, biblical insight, and practical wisdom, author Tiffany C. Jacobs gently leads readers through the process of acknowledging wounds, identifying root causes, rebuilding trust, practicing forgiveness, and rediscovering peace within their faith journey. Encounters is a discipleship-focused, Scripture-rooted journey that argues one central idea: real transformation does not begin with effort, but with encounter. Encounter is presented as the point where God interrupts ordinary life with divine reality, and where faith stops being abstract and becomes personal, obedient, and durable. The book opens by framing reconciliation with God as the true foundation of purpose and identity, made possible through Jesus Christ and sustained by the Holy Spirit's active presence. Rather than treating the Spirit as an impersonal influence, the text emphasises the Holy Spirit as a divine Person who teaches, comforts, guides, and anchors the believer's life in ongoing fellowship with God.Core message and narrative arcThe introduction sets the tone: a genuine encounter with Jesus is never neutral. It leaves an imprint that reshapes the inner life, renewing the mind and realigning the heart. Transformation is described as a deep spiritual reordering, not behavior adjustment, and the consistent biblical pattern is laid out as: encounter → revelation → response → transformation. This pattern is traced through key biblical stories (Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, Jacob, Paul), where a collision with God produces a new direction, new identity, and new obedience. From there, the book builds in two main movements: 1. What divine encounters are and how they form faith, identity, and culture.2. How transformation is sustained through surrender, Scripture, the Spirit, and daily discipleship. Encounter as the ignition of faith and purposeEarly chapters insist that faith often requires more than inherited belief. The text argues that encounter gives "substance" to faith, shifting it from concept to relationship. It stresses that people arrive differently; some believe and then encounter, others encounter and then believe, but in both cases, encounter becomes the milestone that clarifies God's nearness and voice. Saul's Damascus-road confrontation is used as a model of sudden divine interruption that reassigns identity and mission in one moment.

Help My Unbelief, 20th Anniversary Edition
"Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" Nothing has motivated Fleming Rutledge in her preaching more than addressing people's struggles with doubt. Now with a new preface from the author, Help My Unbelief speaks directly to the "faithful doubters" and the "unbelieving believers" of the church who wrestle with questions and uncertainties about Christian faith. What if I'm not very religious? Why isn't it enough just to be good and loving? How can I respond to an abstraction like the Trinity? Isn't Christianity outmoded? Can we still believe in the Resurrection today? Fleming Rutledge approaches these questions with a combination of pastoral warmth and theological fearlessness, aligning herself with those seeking answers and pointing readers toward the One who creates and sustains faith.
I Saw 2026 In the Spirit
This book is a prophetic guide for those who feel the weight of calling and the tension of timing at the same time. It speaks to the quiet frustration of being prepared in hidden places, to the confusion of delay that does not feel accidental, and to the inner resistance that rises when purpose seems close but not yet released. Rather than offering predictions or quick fixes, it reframes the season itself and invites you to see what God is forming beneath the surface. Written for believers navigating transition, pressure, and prolonged preparation, this book explores why struggle often precedes authority and why waiting is not the opposite of movement but a different kind of training. It challenges the urge to rush outcomes, exposes the trap of premature promotion, and reveals how obedience, submission, and discernment shape leadership that lasts. Through layered insight and practical spiritual wisdom, it helps readers recognize when resistance is internal, when delay is protective, and when alignment matters more than acceleration. At its core, this book is about maturity. It guides readers to interpret their season accurately, to break false expectations, and to develop spiritual perception strong enough to navigate what comes next. It shows how authority is formed before it is expressed, how peace becomes the mark of readiness, and how responsibility grows out of character rather than ambition. This is not a message about striving harder or doing more. It is an invitation to stop fighting the process and start cooperating with it. For those who sense that something significant is ahead but know they cannot carry it the same way they once would have, this book offers clarity, steadiness, and a renewed vision for the road beyond preparation. It is not about reaching a destination. It is about becoming ready for what you are called to carry.
The Doctrine of Justification by Faith (In Modern English)
First published in 1677, The 'Doctrine of Justification by Faith, Through the Imputation of the Righteousness of Christ; Explained, Confirmed, and Vindicated' by John Owen is a definitive defense of the Reformed doctrine of justification. Writing in response to Roman Catholic, Socinian, and Arminian distortions of the gospel, Owen presents a rigorous, Scripture-saturated argument for the imputed righteousness of Christ as the sole ground of the believer's acceptance before God.This modernised edition is based on the full, unabridged original text and preserves Owen's theological depth while rendering the language into contemporary English for today's readers.
Rekindling the Christian Flame

Many of us drift from the Christian faith for real and valid reasons. This book invites readers to rediscover the essential pieces of what it truly means to live as a Christian today. At the heart of the book is the belief that God continually calls us to enter more deeply into the divine mystery woven into our everyday lives. We are invited to awaken to God's quiet presence in the ordinary. Even through obstacles, doubts, and the dark nights of the soul, God walks with us, not by removing hardship, but by guiding us courageously through it. We are called to step forward, to become beacons of hope, especially in the face of injustice and the challenges of our world.Drawing on poetry, stories, and personal reflection, Rekindling the Christian Flame explores how countless people have rediscovered God in unexpected and transformative ways. Each chapter begins with a poem or personal reflection, then moves into a deeper exploration of a key theme that emerges as the book develops.
