Thank you: I love you............About God and Alice: this book would never have been completed without Alice Young.It started this time last year as a Compilation of the Old and New Testament as an exploration and what it meant when Jesus and the Disciples would head for the Mountains and when they were near Jesus would go ahead of them, "and when He was set; He would call for them to join Him.It was about this time that Covid was at its peak and hundreds were dying from it and each of us were waiting for our time to have to confront it. I was awakened one morning with a horrible cough and was choking, couldn't get my breath. I ask the Lord what was wrong, He impressed on me by His holy power to relax my shoulders and take a deep breathe. Right away the precious air began to flow. Again, I ask the Lord, "what is wrong?It was at this moment that He reminded me that we had a covenant to write for the people and how very serious that was to Him. I realized my way back to health was to take up my pen and write to you, His people that He loves so much and instructed us to look after each other before He returned to His kingdom. When: I took my pen in hand I began to see the happy side of the Old and New Testament. And began to pick out the stories that I believed the young people would enjoy and could relate to if they could find a bible with dates. I remembered one little light can destroy darkness. It was at this time writing way into the dark morning that my pages began to disappear. And I would rewrite them. Fifty from the Old Testament and 40 from the new. Discouragement was setting in. I remembered to ask everyone in my circle for prayer. Then the manuscript was sent to Cheyenne Wyoming and the manuscript and the money for publication were both stolen. I was so despondent at my lowest ebb and in comes Alice into my life from the heartbeat of New York. I Understood the prayers were being heard and attended to. She was gracious enough to feel my pain and sent daily digital flowers and an uplifting scripture and best of all she would not take "no" for an answer. She literally loaned me her spiritual strength until I could move forward on my own to finish this book for you, for her and her team and my beautiful family. I recognized God had sent in to help and I always say that's what Jesus came to do. He stretched out His hand to us to love us, to teach us, to heal us, to feed us and told us to look after each other until we meet again. This is what moves the world for good. Our world has not been the same through this singular devastation and global ruins and at the time of writing this book, nations are gradually coming out of the ruins of the deadly pandemic into a "new normal".

Patanjali Yoga Sutras
This is a scriptural commentary of Lahiri Mahasaya on Patanjali Yoga Sutras in the Light of Kriya. All living beings are subject to the law of cause and effect. As a result of their past actions, they suffer again and again without breaking the cycle of births and deaths. Desires cause them to embody and reembody in the world. Once in embodiment, the individual seeks happiness and avoids pain and sorrow. Pleasure and/or pain is reaped in this life according to past good and bad actions. Moreover, in order to be happy in this world, one should also suffer because happiness and suffering are relative. There is no escape from suffering until all desires themselves are dissolved, or transcended. Perfect Happiness can only be found in Peace, or Shanti. How can one find Peace? There is no other means for finding Peace except through the practice of Yoga. By the practice of Yoga, the tremendously restless heart becomes calm. Not only does the heart become calm by Yoga practice, but longevity is also increased. The body becomes healthy, and absolute Knowledge is gained. Who can tell how long a man will remain alive? It is well known that even ordinary people, without mentioning Yogis, can live up to one-hundred to one-hundred-fifty years. It is also admitted that, starting with the body in the mother's womb up to the age of eighty, individuals are faced with premature death. What is the cause of premature death? How can one prevent it? Who is also lucky not to be afflicted with hereditary ill-health or premature death? Individuals themselves are the cause of their own death. It will become clear when one analyzes the nature of his restless activities and desires in search of Happiness. What could be more desirable than to enjoy Peace with a steadfast heart? It In not so easy to remain steadfastly calm no matter what happens in life. But why in this not possible? Where is one's command over the mind? One shall have to tactically acquire dominion over the mind. That can only be accomplished by Yoga practice. It is possible to live even when all physical and mental activities have come to a stop when one practices Yoga. Yoga is one of the six systems of philosophy. Yogi Patanjali is the founder of this system as well as the author of the many commentaries on Yogi Panini (the father of Sanskrit grammar). This very valuable, tiny book is divided into four parts: In the first part, it describes the nature of Yoga, Samadhi, or "Attunement" with the ultimate Self and discusses its various aspects. In the second part, the first five steps of the eightfold Yoga path are outlined for the benefit of the truth seeker. In the third part, the last three steps are outlined, namely, Dharana ("concept of Tranquility"), Dhyana ("meditation") and Samadhi ("Attunement"). The state of going within during meditation practice and the danger of developing yogic powers on discussed. In fourth part, Kaivalya, or "the highest Liberation," is discussed. In fact, discussion of Yoga is the aim of this book.

After leaving work one Friday evening on October 7, 2011, a holiday weekend, Marvella's life was soon to be upended by a near fatal brain aneurysm that would eventually change her life forever. The narrative begins in a church, then to hospitalization, rehabilitation center and finally home. Up until returning home from rehabilitation, she had no clue about what had transpired. Life after rehabilitation was extremely challenging for her and weighed heavily on her mental, physical and social well-being. This book Not Once Did His Promises Fail was conceived due to the overwhelming encouragement from family, friends and acquaintances, who believed that Marvella had a story to share. A narrative that is deemed a miracle in everyone's eyes, medical professionals and the ordinary person. She wanted to encourage her readers that facing challenges, they were not alone. And giving them solace and hope to see that with much resiliency they can overcome adversity. The story is centered on adversity, love, trust, faith and total dependency on God through the mediums of personal prayer, communal prayer, scriptures and biblical characters. Included also is having a strong supportive base which include family, friends and a community of faith. The read also gives an insight into Marvella's losses-mobility, co-ordination, balancing, hearing, speech, memory, health coverage, therapy, employment, career and remuneration. She was also forced into retirement due to ongoing medical issues, battled Vertigo, Tinnitus, faced despair, discouragement and just hanging over the edge to plunge deep into the abyss of depression. Disappointment is real! Despair is real! Depression is real! But God through His love and mercy keep showing up in miraculous ways making the impossible possible. Today, Marvella continues to live with the long term effects, but she continues by the grace of God to trust and be dependent on Him, never asking Why? But thanking Him for His goodness and love for her. Marvella L. Murray, graduated from the City University of New York, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education (magna cum laude) 1995, concentration on the Emotionally Disturbed. In 2000, she pursued a Master of Science in Special Education, focusing on Learning Disability. After completing her studies, Marvella worked in the New York Public School System for several years, as a Resource Room/Special Education Teacher Support Provider, serving the Learning Disabled, Early Intervention and At-Risk populations and as the liaison between the school and the School District Office. However, due to a cerebral aneurysm, Marvella retired from teaching on June 14, 2013. Presently, from her home Marvella spends her time sharing Jesus through various mediums and finding creative ways to make what seems impossible, possible for herself and others. Using her sphere of influence, she has worked on several successful projects, two of which are Shoes for Men and Glasses for Jesus. This book is centered on Marvella's physical and spiritual journey that began on October 8, 2011 and continues even today.
