Time is in His Hands

Kate,Evans  著
Choir Press 出版
2025/07/09 出版

Inspired by her own life experiences of God's extraordinary timing, this book examines Jesus' first coming celebrated at Christmas through the spectrum of time and history. Using Old Testament prophecies and New Testament accounts, it focuses on both the big picture and the little details. It shows how God is intricately involved in events on a global scale as well as in the lives of individual people. It seeks to encourage the reader to consider and prepare for Jesus' return, which is also clearly prophesied in both the Old and New Testaments. Continuing from December 1st to January 6th, these thematic readings are accompanied each day by the author's comments and helpful illustrations. There is also a suggested Christian song or hymn and a different name of God or Jesus, which complements the theme. Most Advent devotionals end on Christmas Day but this book takes the reader all the way through to Epiphany.

Divine Revelation According to Christianity, Judaism, and Islam

Paulist Press 出版
2025/07/09 出版

Christianity, Judaism, and Islam face similar questions and challenges about the continuing role of a foundational revelation that gives rise to a Tradition and traditions and, most importantly, to the sacred Scriptures in their formation and interpretation. A conversation among three experts in Christian, Jewish, and Muslim theology, this book introduces readers to the foundational issues that all three Abrahamic religions face as they examine comparative issues that affect major, monotheistic faiths."It is my greatest joy to read and savor my friend Gerald O'Collins's last book. It is the capstone of a long and prodigious career of research and scholarship. Always open to new insights and new fields, O'Collins revisits his favorite theme, namely fundamental theology, on which he has written several trailblazing books, but this time in dialogue with his two confreres on Judaism and Islam. The book is vintage O'Collins, marked by a willingness to listen, profundity of thought, wide-ranging scholarship, and lucidity of expression. The book is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest and prolific theologians of our times."--Peter C. Phan, The Ignacio Ellacuria, SJ, Chair of Catholic Social Thought, Georgetown University"In our disrupted world of global religions, it has become crucial again for interreligious relations and coexistence between Christians, Jews, and Muslims to understand the idea of God's revelation according to the religious 'other.' This book addresses this question in a direct way that is clarifying and hope giving at the same time."--Massimo Faggioli, professor of historical theology, Villanova UniversityGerald O'Collins, SJ (d. 2024), was professor emeritus of theology at the Gregorian University in Rome and a prolific author of books and articles. Marc Rastoin, SJ, teaches at the Biblical Institute in Rome and has enjoyed extensive contacts with Judaism. Jean-Marc Balhan, SJ, has lived for many years in Turkey, where he has engaged in long-standing dialogue with Muslims.+

Visions of the King

Tonja K. Taylor 出版
2025/07/06 出版

King Jesus is returning soon (Rev. 22:12), and the veil between Heaven and earth is very thin!Let Tonja's real-life encounters with the LORD Jesus Christ inspire you that, if God can give her visions and dreams, then He can do it for you, too. She did not seek these visions, and almost all of them came during prayer or deep worship.Know that Christ Jesus is real, all-powerful--and wants to communicate with you in visions, dreams, and more!May 28, 2006: As usual, my husband and I met to pray this morning with the warriors at church. While our worship team practiced in the background to spirit-stirring songs, the LORD gave me a wonderful vision.I was in the Throne Room of God, and there sat Jehovah, His Majesty, on the throne, with the LORD Jesus Christ at His right hand. The thrones were encircled with a rainbow, and there were angels everywhere, some standing and worshipping, some flying around His head.I was clothed in white garments, crawling at first, bowing before the Throne of the awesome God. Then suddenly, I was lifted up and into the open arms and lap of my loving Father! He drew me to His bosom and held me tight, enfolding me in His garments of light. I was completely hidden in Him.Then, again I know not how, I was not in His arms any longer. He had given me many crowns, and somehow I gave them to Jesus--not throwing them and not handing them to Him, but I presented them to Him, and He, LORD Jesus, the King of Glory, the Righteousness of God, accepted them.At that moment, I saw His beautiful smile. He looked into my eyes, and held out His beautiful hand. He pointed to His palm."See?" He said. "I have engraved you in the palm of my hand."I looked, and there, in glistening red cursive, was my name; literally engraved--cut into!--His loving, eternal hand!...15"Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the son of her womb? Even if she could forget, I will not forget you! 16 Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are ever before Me." - Isaiah 49:15-16, Berean Standard Bible

A Guide for the Scrupulous

Thomas,Santa  著
Queen's Work 出版
2025/07/03 出版

In this handbook of inspiration, Fr. Thomas Santa, CSsR provides reflections and prayers to help fill some of the spiritual needs of those who suffer with the affliction of scrupulosity. While each person is different, there are some shared experiences and feelings common to the affliction, some of which can create obstacles to prayer. By identifying these obstacles and presenting new perspectives, the author hopes to provide encouragement when and where it's most needed. This work is also meant to offer guidance to those who, when it comes to prayer, simply, do not know what to say or do. Sometimes all that's needed is a prayer starter--a thought, a word, an experience. It is hoped that you will find that starter within these pages. THE QUEEN'S WORK: Liguori Publications has revived The Queen's Work imprint to support the needs of the people of God who desire a life of greater piety and devotion. It is intended to encourage the positive spiritual energy that's present and growing in the Church today.

Incorruptible Bodies and Bilocation Miracles Across World Religions

2025/06/28 出版

For over two millennia, witnesses across every major world religion have documented two extraordinary phenomena: saints whose bodies resist decay for decades or centuries after death, and spiritual masters appearing in multiple locations simultaneously. From Padre Pio's verified bilocations to Buddhist monks' preserved remains in Chinese temples, from Hindu yogis materializing across continents to Sufi saints defying physical limitations-these miracles transcend all religious boundaries.Incorruptible Bodies and Bilocation Miracles Across World Religions presents the first comprehensive cross-cultural investigation of these phenomena, documenting hundreds of verified cases spanning Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Islam, and Judaism. Through meticulous research of historical records, eyewitness testimonies, and church investigations, author William Bodri reveals that these aren't isolated religious curiosities but universal markers of advanced spiritual development-and explains why they occur.Drawing from Eastern teachings on the "five spiritual bodies," Bodri shows how intensive spiritual practice triggers identical transformations across all traditions. The same kundalini purification process that enables bilocation also preserves the physical body from decay. This scholarly yet accessible study challenges our understanding of human consciousness and reveals extraordinary possibilities of human potential supported by centuries of documented evidence from around the world.

The Tao Teh King

Double 9 Books 出版
2025/06/27 出版

"The Tao Teh King, or the Tao and its Characteristics" is a foundational philosophical work from Daoism, written in the late 6th century BCE. This text explores the concept of the Tao, the fundamental force that governs the universe, and advocates for living in accordance with its natural flow. The work emphasizes virtues like simplicity, humility, and non-action as the key to personal conduct and effective leadership. It is structured in 81 chapters, with each chapter containing poetic verses that convey the paradoxical wisdom of the Tao. A central idea presented is that true strength lies in yielding, and that quietude and stillness have profound power. Laozi suggests that those who seek wisdom should align with the Tao, finding balance and harmony in themselves and their interactions with the world. The text offers practical guidance for individuals and rulers alike, emphasizing that leadership based on simplicity and selflessness is the path to harmony and success. Through its evocative language, the Tao Teh King encourages a life lived in quiet contemplation and balanced action.

Understanding Paul's Writings Vol 2

Jacie,Rowe  著
2025/06/24 出版

Understanding Paul's writings is Volume 2 of the Holy Spirit Series, a collection of books designed to help novice learners navigate and comprehend the Bible using scripture, rather than personal interpretation. The series follows the biblical instruction from Isaiah 28:10: "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little." Many so-called Christians have not been properly taught how to read the Bible. My goal is to share what God has blessed me with so that everyone has the opportunity to understand what is necessary to attain eternal life after the body expires. As stated in 2Peter 3:16 regarding Paul's writings: "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." I pray that all people have the chance to follow the right path to the kingdom of heaven by gaining a true understanding of Jesus' gospel.

The Tao of Physics

Shambhala 出版
2025/06/18 出版

An updated 50th anniversary edition of the bestselling classic on the extraordinary relationship between modern physics and Eastern philosophy. Fritjof Capra brought the mystical implications of subatomic physics to popular consciousness for the very first time back in 1975. Many books have been written in the ensuing years about the connections between quantum theory and the ideas of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism, but The Tao of Physics serves as the foundation on which the others have been built, and its wisdom has stood the test of time. Its publication in over twenty languages stands as testimony to its universal applicability and enduring significance. This special edition celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the perennial classic and includes new material by the author--a preface, an updated afterword, and a postscript--reflecting on further discoveries and developments in the years since the book's initial publication.

Full of Grace

Buzzy Bee Books 出版
2025/06/18 出版

Full of Grace is a sacred memoir told in the voice of Mother Mary-not as a distant saint, but as a present, tender guide. Channelled in language rich with poetry and stillness, this book invites you to witness the journey of divine motherhood from the inside out: the trembling yes of youth, the hidden years of quiet love, the ache of letting go, and the light that follows loss. These reflections are more than stories of one woman's life-they are invitations. To soften. To trust. To remember that grace is not found in perfection, but in presence. Through Mary's eyes, we are gently shown that motherhood, in all its forms, is a holy unfolding-one that calls us to surrender, to weep, to sing, and to begin again.Full of Grace speaks to the heart of every woman who has loved deeply, lost silently, and longed to reconnect with something sacred within herself. It is both a devotional and a balm-a quiet companion for the days you need to feel held by something greater than yourself.

LGBTQ+ Companion to Symbol, Mythology, Folklore and Spirituality

2025/06/17 出版

LGBTQ+ Companion to Symbol, Mythology, Folklore, and Spirituality is a revised, expanded edition of Encyclopedia of Queer Myth, Symbol, and Spirit (Cassell, 1997). The volume remains an unprecedented reference source on the theme of same sex desire, gender variance and the sacred with a multicultural, transhistorical focus. In anthropology this grouping of various related topics into a central theme is sometimes referred to as a "domain." The Companion, useful for general readers and essential for scholars, is highly informative, entertaining and empowering. The result of more than 30 years of research, the Companion is a collection of LGBTQ+ related deities, spiritual/symbolic figures, mythological stories and folklore (ancient and modern), symbols (e.g. sacred animals, flowers, colors, designs, or motifs), language/terms/slang (e.g. Polari, a linguistic code, or "cant" employed primarily by marginal persons since the Middle Ages), and literature and the arts (authors, artists, texts, and artifacts). This variety is extensively researched and presented from a broad range of historic evidence and perspectives in written records, from personal interviews, oral histories, the treasured folklore of our communities, ranging from the Ancient Mediterranean, Africa and Asia, to Europe and the Americas. Entries and longer articles often include the analysis of, and approaches from various LGBTQ+ and LGBTQ+-positive scholars of linguistics, religion, anthropology, philosophy, sociology, politics and popular culture. Negative and homophobic critiques and analysis, especially from the mid-19th-early 20th centuries, of spiritual leaders and academics, are also examined.

Kebra Nagast

Jazzybee Verlag 出版
2025/06/17 出版

Including a detailed historical annotation on the Queen of Sheba. *** This volume contains a complete English translation of the famous Ethiopian work, The "Kebra Nagast", i.e. the "Glory of the Kings [of Ethiopia]". This work has been held in peculiar honour in Abyssinia for several centuries, and throughout that country it has been, and still is, venerated by the people as containing the final proof of their descent from the Hebrew Patriarchs, and of the kinship of their kings of the Solomonic line with Christ, the Son of God. The Kebra Nagast is a great storehouse of legends and traditions, some historical and some of a purely folk-lore character, derived from the Old Testament and the later Rabbinic writings, and from Egyptian (both pagan and Christian), Arabian, and Ethiopian sources. *** Echoes of the Eternal is a monumental series that brings together the defining texts of the world's spiritual, religious, and mythic heritage. From the sacred scriptures of Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, and other global faiths, to the mystical writings of saints and sages, the myths of ancient civilizations, and the arcane literature of secret societies and occult traditions-this collection explores the full spectrum of humanity's search for the divine, the mysterious, and the transcendent. Each volume shapes spiritual consciousness and cultural identity across time. Whether it is the poetic wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, the visionary revelations of the Qur'an, the esoteric allegories of the Kabbalah, the shamanic myths of indigenous peoples, or the secret doctrines of the Rosicrucians and Freemasons, this series reveals how humans have long sought to explain existence, destiny, and the unseen forces of the cosmos.

The Seeming Unreality of the Spiritual Life

2025/06/17 出版

Exploring the tension between spiritual conviction and the often elusive nature of faith, this profound work addresses the challenges believers face in sustaining a vibrant inner life. Delivered as part of the 1907 Nathaniel William Taylor Lectures at Yale Divinity School, it offers a systematic and thoughtful inquiry into why the spiritual life can feel distant or unreal in everyday experience. Drawing on theological insight and philosophical reasoning, the author situates his reflections within a lineage of Christian thought that grapples with doubt, moral struggle, and the longing for deeper communion with the divine. Through careful analysis, he unpacks the barriers to spiritual perception and the conditions that nurture authentic religious vitality. This enduring meditation invites readers to reexamine the foundations of belief and to renew their engagement with the spiritual dimension of human existence.
