Strategy for a Military Spiritual Self-Development Tool
At the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College (CGSC), students are charged with balancing their lives in mind, body, and spirit; however, self-development tools are readily available to U. S. military leaders in the first two of these realms, but not in the third realm of the spirit. Also, political scientist Samuel Huntington commented in his essay, "The Clash of Civilizations?" that future conflicts will arise among cultures which are most clearly delineated by religious differences; therefore, military officers must understand faith differences around the world in order to prevent and respond to future conflicts. Because the human spirit is often, though not always, tended to through religion, these requirements are inherently linked. Military leaders would benefit by having a practical tool to aid the self-development of their spirit and their religious cultural awareness. This thesis presents a strategy to guide development of a military-specific spiritual self-assessment and religious cultural awareness measure in order to rectify the military's current dearth of such resources. The goal of this tool is to offer the service member a simple way to quickly understand their own spirit in light of how people of other religions see themselves and how they might see the service member. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Training to Be a Top Gun for God
Encouraging Christians to be "Top Guns for God" involves inspiring them to take bold, active roles in their faith and communities. It is to help individuals understand that their faith is not just a personal journey but also a call to action. Emphasize that they are called to be ambassadors for Christ, sharing His love and truth with others. In summary, being a "Top Gun for God" is important as it aligns with the core tenets of the Christian faith, promotes personal growth, and contributes to the well-being of individuals and communities. It encourages believers to take an active role in their faith and to be agents of change in the world.Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith...
My God Stories
Ephesians 6:10-1910 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.Standing next to a lighthouse and watching the sunset is a beautiful experience that brings peace to the soul. However, nothing compares to a God story that reveals His presence in our lives. This book captures a selection of my God stories from my 76 years of life, and my hope is that it inspires you to recognize the God stories in your own life. Share your stories, as they can help others see God's wonderful handiwork in their lives as well. Remember, your experiences may encourage a lost soul to seek Christ and discover the pathway to eternal life in heaven. In heaven, there is no greater joy than reuniting with the souls you helped to save; many of which you will not even know, but God will.

The Fur Bringers A Story Of The Canadian Northwest
The fur bringers: A story of the Canadian northwest emphasizes emotional restlessness, personal struggle, and the collision between independence and expectation in a remote trading region shaped by wilderness and commerce. The focus is placed on a trader torn between duty and a deeper yearning for freedom, with the environment reflecting the psychological turbulence beneath outward composure. A key tension arises from conflicting visions of honor and partnership, where even camaraderie becomes suspect amid unspoken frustrations. Characters are introduced through their internal contradictions, with emotional longing veiled behind stoic behavior and terse interactions. As relational dynamics unfold, the narrative signals that what appears as rivalry or romance is part of a larger interrogation of selfhood and responsibility in a volatile space where survival depends on restraint, vigilance, and trust. The setting is not just geographical but emotional, where lakes, forests, and isolation echo the unresolved tension between autonomy and connection. Rather than centering plot-driven conflict, the novel opens as a psychological landscape, marked by subtle shifts in mood, unspoken desire, and the promise of transformation beneath the familiar operations of a rugged frontier life.
My Lady Of The Chimney Corner
My lady of the chimney corner begins within a rural Irish village, where life moves with the rhythm of hardship and quiet strength. The narrative opens by centering on the presence of a maternal figure who embodies patience and moral steadiness, offering comfort and guidance to those around her. Within the humble surroundings of a cottage hearth, conversations unfold that reflect on kindness, death, faith, and survival. Rather than focusing on major external events, the story draws its power from everyday moments gentle wisdom exchanged by firelight, the consolation of familiar rituals, and a sense of enduring dignity in the face of poverty. The community, though marked by loss and religious tension, is portrayed with empathy, especially through the interactions of neighbors who balance personal grief with generosity. As new generations attempt to find their footing, this domestic world continues to offer both a refuge and a reminder of the values carried by those who came before. The novel builds a portrait not of grandeur, but of quiet heroism forged in daily sacrifice.
Dealing with Resheph
Resheph is mentioned seven times in Scripture. A fallen seraph and throne guardian, it is identified in this volume as a hidden face of Leviathan. Symbolised as a stag and an archer, Resheph is connected with flames and fire, fever, financial distress, mental illness, drought and scorching heat as well as the underworld. Jesus warred against this spirit at least seven times. It's easy to miss these battles because it's easy to miss the prophecies Jesus was fulfilling and the mention of Resheph associated with them. This companion volume to Dealing With Leviathan is the sixth book in a series examining the obstacles we face on the threshold into our calling.

Seymour Reaches the Sky
As a child, I spent many enchanted hours in books recommended by my aunt, a children's librarian. She delighted me with stories from Jane Austin novels as well and enhanced my childhood with magic. When I was sixteen, she sent me a Christmas card of a little mouse snuggled under a patchwork quilt and sound asleep in a squirrel hole in a tree. All you could see were tree trunks as Santa Mouse walked away leaving footprints in the snow. It was so special, I framed it and have it to this day. I enjoy passing on some of that magic in my mouse stories, as well as the importance of my faith.Seymour Reaches the Sky is about a little mouse whose curiosity about God leads him on an exciting adventure. Seymour, a precocious little guy, sets out to find God in the night sky. His journey leads him to believe that he didn't have to go anywhere to reach a conclusion.
Time is in His Hands
Inspired by her own life experiences of God's extraordinary timing, this book examines Jesus' first coming celebrated at Christmas through the spectrum of time and history. Using Old Testament prophecies and New Testament accounts, it focuses on both the big picture and the little details. It shows how God is intricately involved in events on a global scale as well as in the lives of individual people. It seeks to encourage the reader to consider and prepare for Jesus' return, which is also clearly prophesied in both the Old and New Testaments. Continuing from December 1st to January 6th, these thematic readings are accompanied each day by the author's comments and helpful illustrations. There is also a suggested Christian song or hymn and a different name of God or Jesus, which complements the theme. Most Advent devotionals end on Christmas Day but this book takes the reader all the way through to Epiphany.
The Canticles of the Liturgical Hours
"In this well-crafted scholarly work, Abbot Gregory Polan offers a timely exposition and meditation upon the treasures to be found in the canticles that are part of the daily round in the Liturgy of the Hours. This, together with Abbot Gregory's highly acclaimed commentary on the psalms, will be a rich resource for all who pray together 'in the person of Christ' for the People of God and the whole world each day."--Arthur Cardinal Roche, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments"With the prayerful depth of a senior monk, the careful precision of a scripture scholar, and the personal warmth of a spiritual companion, Abbot Gregory opens up the Old and New Testament canticles for all believers, but especially those who succumb to the lure of the Liturgy of the Hours. Even if you have prayed these canticles for many years, here you will dive more deeply into their context, structure, and meaning. You will find no better guide inhabiting the fields of liturgy, scripture, and prayer."--Fr. Paul Turner, pastor, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Kansas City, MO'"No one is more qualified to write this unique set of reflections on the canticles of the Liturgy of the Hours than Abbot Gregory Polan. Not only does he have the experience of praying the divine office daily during his decades of monastic life, but he is a renowned scholar whose insights stem from deep engagement with the biblical text. An essential resource that addresses a long-neglected component of the divine office!"--Ronald D. Witherup, PSS, adjunct professor at St. Mary's Seminary and University, Baltimore"Volumes have been written on the history, structure, and traditions of the divine office, but rarely have authors examined just the canticles--the 'little songs' that punctuate the Liturgy of the Hours. In this book, we are treated to the insights of an historian, the mind of a biblical scholar, the soul of a poet, the heart of a believer, and the experience of a monk whose life has been shaped by the rhythm of beloved texts. This book will certainly encourage scholarship and enrich prayer."--Rita A. Thiron, executive director, FDLC, Washington, DCGregory J. Polan is a Benedictine monk and priest who served as abbot primate of the Benedictine confederation at Sant'Anselmo in Rome from September 2016 to September 2024. Before this, he was abbot of Conception Abbey for twenty years, where he also taught courses in scripture and biblical languages. He holds a doctorate in biblical theology from the Pontifical Faculty of St. Paul University, Ottawa, Canada.+
Divine Revelation According to Christianity, Judaism, and Islam
Christianity, Judaism, and Islam face similar questions and challenges about the continuing role of a foundational revelation that gives rise to a Tradition and traditions and, most importantly, to the sacred Scriptures in their formation and interpretation. A conversation among three experts in Christian, Jewish, and Muslim theology, this book introduces readers to the foundational issues that all three Abrahamic religions face as they examine comparative issues that affect major, monotheistic faiths."It is my greatest joy to read and savor my friend Gerald O'Collins's last book. It is the capstone of a long and prodigious career of research and scholarship. Always open to new insights and new fields, O'Collins revisits his favorite theme, namely fundamental theology, on which he has written several trailblazing books, but this time in dialogue with his two confreres on Judaism and Islam. The book is vintage O'Collins, marked by a willingness to listen, profundity of thought, wide-ranging scholarship, and lucidity of expression. The book is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest and prolific theologians of our times."--Peter C. Phan, The Ignacio Ellacuria, SJ, Chair of Catholic Social Thought, Georgetown University"In our disrupted world of global religions, it has become crucial again for interreligious relations and coexistence between Christians, Jews, and Muslims to understand the idea of God's revelation according to the religious 'other.' This book addresses this question in a direct way that is clarifying and hope giving at the same time."--Massimo Faggioli, professor of historical theology, Villanova UniversityGerald O'Collins, SJ (d. 2024), was professor emeritus of theology at the Gregorian University in Rome and a prolific author of books and articles. Marc Rastoin, SJ, teaches at the Biblical Institute in Rome and has enjoyed extensive contacts with Judaism. Jean-Marc Balhan, SJ, has lived for many years in Turkey, where he has engaged in long-standing dialogue with Muslims.+

A Guide for the Scrupulous
In this handbook of inspiration, Fr. Thomas Santa, CSsR provides reflections and prayers to help fill some of the spiritual needs of those who suffer with the affliction of scrupulosity. While each person is different, there are some shared experiences and feelings common to the affliction, some of which can create obstacles to prayer. By identifying these obstacles and presenting new perspectives, the author hopes to provide encouragement when and where it's most needed. This work is also meant to offer guidance to those who, when it comes to prayer, simply, do not know what to say or do. Sometimes all that's needed is a prayer starter--a thought, a word, an experience. It is hoped that you will find that starter within these pages. THE QUEEN'S WORK: Liguori Publications has revived The Queen's Work imprint to support the needs of the people of God who desire a life of greater piety and devotion. It is intended to encourage the positive spiritual energy that's present and growing in the Church today.
Incorruptible Bodies and Bilocation Miracles Across World Religions
For over two millennia, witnesses across every major world religion have documented two extraordinary phenomena: saints whose bodies resist decay for decades or centuries after death, and spiritual masters appearing in multiple locations simultaneously. From Padre Pio's verified bilocations to Buddhist monks' preserved remains in Chinese temples, from Hindu yogis materializing across continents to Sufi saints defying physical limitations-these miracles transcend all religious boundaries.Incorruptible Bodies and Bilocation Miracles Across World Religions presents the first comprehensive cross-cultural investigation of these phenomena, documenting hundreds of verified cases spanning Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Islam, and Judaism. Through meticulous research of historical records, eyewitness testimonies, and church investigations, author William Bodri reveals that these aren't isolated religious curiosities but universal markers of advanced spiritual development-and explains why they occur.Drawing from Eastern teachings on the "five spiritual bodies," Bodri shows how intensive spiritual practice triggers identical transformations across all traditions. The same kundalini purification process that enables bilocation also preserves the physical body from decay. This scholarly yet accessible study challenges our understanding of human consciousness and reveals extraordinary possibilities of human potential supported by centuries of documented evidence from around the world.

The Tao Teh King
"The Tao Teh King, or the Tao and its Characteristics" is a foundational philosophical work from Daoism, written in the late 6th century BCE. This text explores the concept of the Tao, the fundamental force that governs the universe, and advocates for living in accordance with its natural flow. The work emphasizes virtues like simplicity, humility, and non-action as the key to personal conduct and effective leadership. It is structured in 81 chapters, with each chapter containing poetic verses that convey the paradoxical wisdom of the Tao. A central idea presented is that true strength lies in yielding, and that quietude and stillness have profound power. Laozi suggests that those who seek wisdom should align with the Tao, finding balance and harmony in themselves and their interactions with the world.
