The Seven Trumpets of Revelation
Before going to temporary, anticipatory sleep in the Lord Jesus Christ, Marvin Moore, a veteran writer and theologian, has crafted an intriguing treatise on one of most challenging passages in the beloved apostle's Apocalypse. The Seven Trumpets of Revelation will exhort readers to diligently, prayerfully study these striking themes and carefully evaluate the author's proposals and conclusions.Moore early asserted his support of Adventism's adoption of historicism as the proper mechanism for prophetic interpretation. Nevertheless, he went on to meticulously unpack his reasons for identifying differences between the trumpets and other visions that would otherwise follow the John-to-the-end or Daniel-to-the-end pattern. Though he was firm in articulating his findings, he still expected and welcomed disagreement with his customary grace.Regardless of how readers process the specificities of Moore's deductions, they will resonate with his emphasis on personal preparedness and practical recommendations to that effect. One way or another, cataclysmic events will continue to unfold, and God has given His people-the whole world-sufficient forewarning to validate the trustworthiness of His Word and the surety of Jesus' imminent, victorious return.
Yhwh's Diversity
The diversity of known YHWH names and the fact that there is no specific YHWH iconography leads to the thesis that there were different origins of YHWH and regional manifestations of this god before the exile. The poly-Yahwistic and poly-iconographic approach to Yahwism leads to a mosaic of regionally distinct, religiously heterogeneous clusters, which were only harmonized with one another in the post-exilic period by Judean and Samaritan interpretive authorities.
Destiny of the Defiant
What happens to the deliberate, defiant sinner? The Hebrew Bible prescribes karet / "cutting off". Donald J. Wold's semantic-field analysis across Hebrew, Greek, Qumran, and rabbinic sources - bolstered by Akkadian and Egyptian parallels - reveals that only God enacts karet - a curse denying eternal life to high-handed offenders.

The Resurrection of The Dead Ones
What happens to a person when they die? It is one of the most asked and least understood questions in all of life and for the Christian, it entails the idea of a resurrection. Every Christian denomination-and there are many-believe one simple truth: the tomb was empty after the crucifixion of Jesus. We often hear sermons where the focus is on the cross and the resurrection is mentioned only in passing. But when you really get into the meat of the Word of God, the Bible clearly shows that the resurrection of Jesus was the gospel message preached by the Apostles and not the Cross.Sadly, the Believers only seem to get excited about the resurrection once a year at Easter time. In reality, every Sunday should be Resurrection Sunday. The early Church met on the first day of the week to celebrate Jesus' defeat of death. Imagine the impact from consciously gathering every week to celebrate the resurrection...And in that vein, we need to seek to arrive at a clear biblical understanding of this particular question regarding what happens to a person when they die. It is my earnest prayer that we, together, could arrive at a much better understanding of this subject.

Cultural Translation and Receptions of Paul in the First Four Centuries
There are two overlapping themes which serve as the focus of Cultural Translation and Receptions of Paul in the First Four Centuries: (a) "reception" of the apostle Paul in subsequent Christian traditions, and (b) the hypothesis that while Paul himself continued to think as a Jew, he was subsequently re-interpreted by non-Jews in non-Jewish and anti-Jewish ways: the so-called "Paul within Judaism" school. The distinctive focus of this volume is on the dynamic of "cultural translation," meaning, for example, the translation from the cultural world of Diaspora Judaism and its Septuagint to Greek philosophical and Greek Christian categories. The contributions to the book are diverse, ranging from younger to more senior scholars from both North America and Europe.
Reformation Movements in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries
Reformation Movements in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries explores how Protestant women across Europe engaged with the Bible, rather than prioritizing how male Reformers viewed women. Contributors consider women as readers, interpreters, and sharers of scripture who encountered biblical texts in their own languages, in devotional texts, and in hymns. Although many available sources derive from and address elite women, the articles collected here show that women of various social statuses engaged with scripture and with their faith.
A Hellenistic Ethical Lexicon
Building on his previous work on Hellenistic Interstate Political Ethics (T&T Clark, 2022) leading historian Doron Mendels presents three hundred interstate ethical rules of conduct which he has discovered within three reconstructed Hellenistic codes. These codes appear in the work of three major Hellenistic historical writers, with Mendels also adding remarks that appear in The Letter of Aristeas. Mendels has formulated these - probably originally oral - rules embedded within the historical narratives using a mixture of statements by rulers and other actors concerning interstate relationships, historical events which point to ethical behaviour of states and/or their breach, as well as related thoughts of the historians themselves regarding interstate encounters. The result is a comprehensive catalogue of ethical rules referring to behaviour on the international scene, which include not only rules but also a lexicon of moral terms borrowed from the individual ethical scenarios. The volume constitutes a significant addition to knowledge of the Hellenistic era in the 3rd-1st centuries BC, the universe against which Judaism and early Christianity operated.
Eschatology and the Use of Psalms in Hebrews
Seth Whitaker argues that the Psalm texts function as the structural and theological backbone of Hebrews from start to finish, and that few scholars have examined the use of Psalms outside of quotations or connected the author of Hebrews' use of Psalms with his broader eschatological outlook. Whitaker suggests that the author's eschatology is his dominating exegetical assumption, allowing numerous psalms to be read with multiple meanings. Whitaker further suggests that Psalms, for the author of Hebrews, not only provide messianic material for his exegetical commentary, but also speak to a deeper interpretive tradition that is detectable through scriptural allusions, shared motifs, and narrative structures. Whitaker examines three passages of Hebrews, 1:5-13, 12:18-28 and 13:15, which correspond to three perceived gaps in scholarship: the relationship between quoted texts, the author's cultural encyclopedia, and the function of scriptural allusions. By focusing on Psalms and the eschatological nature of the author of Hebrews' exegesis, Whitaker concludes that readers will be better suited to situate Hebrews in relation to other Second Temple and early Jewish interpretive traditions.

Understanding Separation
The third book in the Understanding Apostolic Doctrine series, Understanding Separation offers clear explanations as to why living a life of separation is pleasing to God. Through a conversational style, the author explores the meaning of holiness standards-such as dress and behavior guidelines-making complex theological concepts accessible to readers of all ages, from new converts to seasoned church members. Addressing both internal and external aspects of holiness, this volume also emphasizes the importance of allowing for differences of opinion on matters where the Bible offers no specific guidance. As the third installment, it builds on foundational teachings from the first two volumes, which readers are encouraged to explore before delving into this work.

One Gospel in Clear English
This book combines all the information offered by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and to some extent Paul in creating an easy to read harmonious account of the One Gospel. The book is divided into 259 chronological pericopes each of which has been ascribed a date and sometimes a day of the week and approximate time. Maps show not only where important events happened, but also the chronological footsteps of the Messiah.Because of the logical arrangement of the data within the account of the One Gospel, it is easy to remember where an event occurred within the four Passovers of Jesus's career. It is also easy to build lists of repetitive events. In doing this it was discovered that John writing about AD 98 added to 14 data lists containing seven events thereby putting his seal on the New Testament because the probability of this happening by chance is one in 30 trillion. The book also has insightful informational and theological notes. This book also has insightful theological notes, a reverse Scripture-to-Pericope index, and a cross-referenced index of the Gospel story.Whether you are reading the Gospel for the first or the hundredth time, you are bound to profit by doing so via Ron Banuk's "One Gospel in Clear English." The author's scholarship shines through in his comments on the biblical text on every page, as does his love and appreciation for the Lord, his God, and for His life-giving Word.-Stephen A. The Epistle to the Romans
The Epistle to the Romans is presented in the spirit of building on the Historic Christian Faith, particularly as embodied in its high-water mark, the Westminster Standards. It brings into focus the foundational doctrines often neglected since the Reformation, especially the doctrine of clarity and inexcusability, in order to establish the need for the gospel. Pastor Surrendra Gangadean argues that the righteousness of God, as revealed in the gospel and articulated by St. Paul, cannot be rightly understood apart from the clarity of general revelation, which renders unbelief inexcusable and justifies the call to repentance. Without this foundation, the gospel becomes unintelligible, and the Church loses its power to leaven the culture and disciple the nations.Drawing on decades of preaching and teaching, this volume is both theological and pastoral. It integrates the biblical worldview with Rational Presuppositionalism, follows the progression of Romans from doctrinal issues to practical applications, and provides personal encouragement for service in the kingdom. This book outlines a plan for natural theology and raises awareness of the task of Christian philosophy, as well as the need to settle the voluntarist dispute. This work is offered as a foundation for a second Reformation-one that seeks to restore the Church to its intended role as the pillar and ground of the truth, and to labor until the earth is filled with the knowledge of God's glory by fulfilling both the cultural and missionary mandates.

Is the Bible Divine?
A fascinating record of a six-night discussion between Charles Bradlaugh, a prominent freethinker and editor of the National Reformer, and Robert Roberts, editor of the Christadelphian and author of 'Twelve Lectures, ' this volume, "Is the Bible Divine?", captures a spirited 19th-century debate on the Bible's divine authority. Held in June 1876, the discussions delve into the heart of religious belief, examining arguments for and against the Bible's divine origin. Bradlaugh, known for his atheistic views, challenges Roberts, a staunch defender of biblical inerrancy, creating a compelling intellectual clash. This book offers a unique window into Victorian-era religious discourse and the evolving perspectives on faith and reason.

Sinapi Seed
back cover"The serpent was the most cunning of all the animals of the fields that Yahweh God had made. It said to the woman: 'So, God has said: You will not eat of all the trees in the garden?'" Genesis 3: 1How well do we really know this verse, and have we fully understood what it tells us? Do we really know the nature of all the actors in this scene, as well as the very nature of what is denounced in this passage? Are we sure we ultimately comprehend the message that this verse is attempting to communicate to us, a message too quickly relegated to Judeo-Christian myths?Isn't there something here that we should urgently consider, in this singular moment of our history that seems so decisive in view of the multiple tensions our Earth is experiencing, culturally as well as naturally?Summary"This essay provides a new interpretation of the Biblical creation story in Genesis, focusing on the issue of the regime of value as the foundation of humanity's alienation. The author strives to contextualize the message of warning that this foundational text addresses to humans regarding their relationship with the created world, the meaning of history, and the future of humanity."
