Climbing the Sacred Ladder

2025/06/10 出版

Climbing the Sacred Ladder is based on the Kabbalistic idea, which holds, we live simultaneously in four different realities, while being aware of only one. In this world view, what is most important is concealed beneath the surface of apparent reality. Nothing is, as it seems to be. Rather, there is always something beyond what "meets the eye. This applies to such various areas as visual and auditory perception, inter-personal relationships, religious-text study, dreams, and even material reality. The aim of Kabbalah is to infuse each person with a higher consciousness, a less strident ego, and a stronger soul, so each person can consciously choose those deeds, feelings, and thoughts, which accelerate spiritual redemption. The Sacred Ladder, based on the biblical story of Jacob's dream, symbolizes the principle of spiritual ascension from earth to heaven, in order to attain higher consciousness. Each rung or step up this symbolic ladder brings a new realm of spiritual experience from a different dimension of life. Each realm has its own distinct spiritual task, challenge, and skills to be acquired. ". . . a very practical and effective way to gain soul strength. If you work with it, it works for you." -Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, founder of Aleph and Spiritual Leader of the Jewish Renewal Movement "Climbing the Sacred Ladder is a comprehensive, wise, helpful, imaginative, and practical manual for our evolution. . . . This is a lush and creative contribution." -Rabbi Lawrence Kushner, author of more than a score of books on Jewish spirituality and Kabbalah "An inspired prescription for healing the human soul . . . this book is a concise and practical manual to anyone seeking remedy for the pain and alienation from the sacred which marks our society. [It is] for anyone who is ready to begin (or continue!) this sacred task." -Trica Hellman Gibbs, MD, co-founder San Francisco Free Clinic

Race, Religion & Muslim Identity in Britain

Claritas Books 出版
2025/06/10 出版

This timely book offers incisive and comprehensive analysis of faith as a cornerstone of identity. With the rapid transformation within the Muslim community over the last few decades, many young people are now finding it difficult to navigate between the demands of their religion on one side and social pressure on the other. Working with them and addressing the issues pertinent to their daily life is challenging, to say the least. This book is the outcome of Dr Bari's long-term involvement with the young Muslims of London through his voluntary and professional work. This has put him on a continuous learning curve in assessing his personal situation as well. The foremost issue facing a young Muslim is, of course, one of "identity", which the author has tried to address through the lens of Islamic principles.

On The Other Side of Your Pain

Terri,Jordan  著
True Potential 出版
2025/06/10 出版

Life is full of choices, and each of those choices carry a consequence. These choices aren't just ours; the choices of others often bring their consequences into our lives. We can accept the consequence of a bad choice for what it is and work to turn it around, or we can fall into a pit of regret and self-pity. That choice, too, is ours. When those consequences hit me with their full force I found myself plunging downward into that pit. The daylight was growing dim and I knew that in order to survive I had to find something outside of myself to cling to. I chose forgiveness. And with forgiveness came hope.My story is about hope for the hurting. It is a labor of love for anyone whose hope has diminished. As you read these words feel the peace and love I send to you. Again, there is always hope! Never give up. Never let go of it. Hold on to it with passion and tenacity!I also remind you that you are not who others have said you are - you are who YOU say you are. Remove the illegitimate titles from your vocabulary. They do not belong to you! When you change those words and believe them, you will begin to see who you truly are!Beauty, peace, and joy lie on the other side of your pain!

This volume delves into the intricate relationship between the natural world and the teachings of the Scriptures, offering a profound exploration of their interconnectedness. Engaging the Gadfly

Cascade Books 出版
2025/06/10 出版

In 2020, most preachers and congregations were forced into online and hybrid preaching. We had to react quickly. For some, this adventure opened creative forms of preaching--stitches, duets, reels, and VR. For others, it was a season of just getting by--cell phones propped up on books, laptops on dining room tables. We did what we could to proclaim the good news in turbulent times. Five years later, Sigmon invites preachers and congregations to reflect on those experiences as they consider the future of preaching. She helps the reader engage the Gadfly, whose buzzing signals a shift in how we understand relationships, truth, presence, and place in this digital age. Sociologists and historians argue that we are now on the brink of a shift in communication as transformative as the invention of the printing press. No wonder ministry is so challenging right now. Ultimately, this digital age, like previous ages of technological change, presents problems and possibilities to the practice of preaching--and so, ecclesiologically, the shape of the church. What shapes will emerge? Sigmon will empower preachers and congregations to answer that question for themselves through a new media homilecclesiology.

Anacalypsis

Jazzybee Verlag 出版
2025/06/10 出版

Including a detailed historical annotation on Pandeism. *** The Anacalypsis (a.k.a. An Attempt to Draw Aside the Veil of the Saitic Isis or an Inquiry into the Origin of Languages, Nations and Religions) is a huge treatise written by religious historian Godfrey Higgins. It took him more than twenty years of research to discover that there was once an ancient and universal religion, basically the foundation of all other religions that are known today. His theories about Pandeism are still of enormous interest today. *** Echoes of the Eternal is a monumental series that brings together the defining texts of the world's spiritual, religious, and mythic heritage. From the sacred scriptures of Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, and other global faiths, to the mystical writings of saints and sages, the myths of ancient civilizations, and the arcane literature of secret societies and occult traditions-this collection explores the full spectrum of humanity's search for the divine, the mysterious, and the transcendent. Each volume shapes spiritual consciousness and cultural identity across time. Whether it is the poetic wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, the visionary revelations of the Qur'an, the esoteric allegories of the Kabbalah, the shamanic myths of indigenous peoples, or the secret doctrines of the Rosicrucians and Freemasons, this series reveals how humans have long sought to explain existence, destiny, and the unseen forces of the cosmos.

Agents of Change

2025/06/10 出版

The rise of moderate Orthodox Judaism in Israel and the key role of Americans in its emergence The conservative ultra-Orthodox and redemptive "Kook" camps hold sway over religious matters in Israel. Yet from the mid-1960s to the early 1980s, a small cadre of American immigrants arrived in Israel and established or led a range of educational institutions that trained thousands of advanced students and laid the ideological foundations for an Israeli moderate religious stream. In Agents of Change, Adam S. Ferziger highlights the parts played by these Americans in promoting the rise of a transnational community of moderate Jewish Orthodoxy. Analyzing the novel outlooks that have found expression in central areas of debates, from women's engagements in religious and public life and approaches to the gay and lesbian community to interactions with non-Orthodox denominations and attitudes toward academic Jewish studies, Ferziger illuminates both shifting religious dynamics in Israel as a result of this rise in moderate Orthodoxy, as well as the changing relationship between Israeli and American Judaisms, challenging current understandings which see the Jewish co-mmunities of the two nations as drifting apart. Though a minority in Israel, this vocal Orthodox community with a more moderate take on key issues is significant in potentially paving the way for social change. Increasingly, their influence is being felt. Shedding light on the impact of American migration in forming a burgeoning moderate religious direction in Israeli life that has challenged the hegemony of the long dominant direction within Religious Zionism, Agents of Change offers a fresh perspective on the multifaceted collaboration of ideas and practices that exists between Israel and America.
