The Future is Male - Advice to My Son on How Not to Be a Snowflake
My son asked me, "What about the boys?" after hearing "The Future is Female." So I explained that the future is male. . . and female. Because men and women need each other and there is a difference between the two sexes. Those that scream "the future is female" may take issue with these self-evident truths. Let them. As men, you and I are strong enough to withstand the false allegations which come with defending men. We decry the very concept of what Orwell called thought crime and refuse to limit the scope of our thinking or be silenced when we express these thoughts. We are men, after all. We are strong and confident and willing to protect women and children. This is our bold response to anyone who seeks to denigrate our son and deny him opportunity by claiming the future is (only) female. We say shame on you and ask you to heed the words of the Apostle Paul that there is neither male nor female in Christ.

Understanding the Adult-Child Relationship
Is there really more of a generation gap today than there was in the past? We believe there is. There has always been a struggle between the generations, just there has always been a struggle between the sexes. In the past, however--in an autocratic society--this rebellion could not come out into the open. With the advent of the state of equality which we have reached in the United States since World War II, however, this evolution has begun to change or emerge more rapidly. We now see a low-level rebellion of all those persons who were earlier in an inferior position. Said more generally, we cannot understand this change--including a rebellion of youth--if we consider it as an isolated phenomenon. This quiet struggle of youth is part of a general, sometimes not so quiet rebellion of the disenfranchised in our society. Many women no longer let themselves be controlled by men, children no longer allow it by adults, labor no longer allow it by management, and minorities--especially Blacks and Hispanics--no longer accept the "supremacy" of Whites/Caucasians. So we have to understand that this struggle, on all fronts, is part of the same rebellion. The goal of this book is to outline the dynamics and processes involved. The author's intent is to highlight the evolving relationship between adults and children as part of this process.
600 Sunsets and the Little Trailer
Twenty plus years, forty national parks, incredible scenery and endless sunsets. This is the true story of how I, along with my brother and others close to me, explored the Western United States over a roughly twenty year period. It is the story of us and a little trailer. It is the story of how we camped, hiked, ate, and drank. Warm personal stories are told. Many lessons are learned. Through it all I emerged as a different person. Ride along with me as I narrate these adventures. Laugh with me and cry with me. Experience, with me, the beauty that is the natural world. This is a travelogue of a different kind. Definitely not a children's book.

The Eastland Disaster has been mostly overlooked in recent years. In 1997, Pearl Pospisil, a retired Chicago writer, and third-generation Pfeiffer, composed a family history and delivered it to her niece, Zara Vrabel, in St. Paul, who was completely unfamiliar with its contents. Pearl had one request: "Do something with this."Zara, also a journalist, was cut off from her family and had no interest in genealogy. However, learning of her great-aunt's death on the Eastland Disaster made Zara's heart sink.Zara's life unravels as she becomes entangled in the plot and realizes that she and her great-aunt shared more than blood. After discovering that the accident was preventable, Zara initially seeks redress. And the release of another Titanic movie poured salt on a fresh wound. So why was the Eastland consigned to oblivion while the Titanic got all the glory?Flower in the River interweaves the past and present of four generations of an Eastern-European immigrant family. It suggests that even an unknown trauma can affect a family for generations.

The Day I Gave MAD Away
The purpose of the book is to help parents and their children explore from a different perspective, the sensations that move through us that we call "MAD". How different could a child's life be if he or she were to understand that "MAD" isn't a horrible or bad thing in and of itself, but just becomes something harmful when its purpose is not understood. When we work together with our child(ren), they in turn, learn to work with others in the very same way. Make it a practice to have "MAD" discussions at the dinner table and share what you have seen through your exploration. You might just find a "MAD" desire to want to know more!

Raising Screen Time Kids
Welcome to a guilt-free approach to one of the most consuming parts of our life. Have you ever handed your child a screen so you could get through a conversation with an adult? Do you send your kids to play games on a device when you need to snatch a few minutes of peace for yourself? If so, does that make you a bad parent? How much screen time is too much for your child? As parents in the twenty-first century, we are facing a challenge none of the generations that came before us had: we are being forced to navigate through a world full of phones, tablets, computers, TVs, and gaming devices. Screens can be great-but they can also be bad, and sometimes they are downright dangerous for our kids (and ourselves!). Today's parents are full of questions, but we must find the answers to this challenge on our own. In Raising Screen Time Kids, biblical counselor and pastor Josh Weidmann-who has six kids of his own-sets out to help us discover scriptural answers for those questions. This is not just a book of "don'ts" and "stop doing thats," but one that gives practical advice for finding moderation in all things, as well as how to use screens to help us disciple our kids.
Columbo: Class Struggle on TV Tonight
After a 35 year-long career on worldwide TV screens, Lieutenant Columbo has become one of the most famous fictional detectives. Lilian Mathieu shows that the Columbo series owes its success to its implicit but formidable political dimension, as each episode is structured as a class struggle between a rich, famous, cultured or powerful criminal and an apparently humble and blunderer police officer dressed in a crumpled raincoat and driving an antique car. Highlighting the contentious context that gave birth to the series in 1968, he shows that the sociology of culture offers intellectual tools to understand how a TV detective story can be appreciated as a joyful class revenge.

This will let you know you're not the only parent who feels they have failed some days. This is just how I feel about raising children! No judgement! We aren't perfect! Nobody is! Raising kids isn't easy, especially now a days, there are so many expectations not just from society, but most of all ourselves! In my opinion if they are still alive, fed, clothed and roof over them, you're doing just fine! Keep at it! One day at a time!

A Common Sense Practical Guide to Divorce
The simple message of this book is that divorcing husbands and wives should not allow divorce lawyers to send them off on a fool's errand that will take what is already a tragedy in their lives and turn it into a nightmare. That is when they are persuaded to employ the law as a weapon in a legal tug of war the object of which is simply to get as much as you can and to give as little as you have to. Rather, they should look to the law as a common framework that they can turn to in their effort to conclude an agreement and thereby get on with their lives. There is a name for this. It is called divorce mediation and it doesn't take forever or cost a king's ransom.
