In these pages, you will find a blend of personal reflections, practical advice, and comforting words intended to support you through this difficult time. My story (the one where I genuinely cannot believe how many people have died now, it's taking the piss) is but one of many paths through grief, and I hope that by sharing it, you may find resonance with your own journey. This book aims to honour that individuality, providing you with tools and insights that might help you find your own way. Let my super sh*t story (everyone has a story, but people always tend to do that 'ooo-ummm' look on their face-thing when they hear mine) be a companion on your journey, offering solace and a safe place to understand what's in your heart and what the hell is going on. I hope with all my heart that you find some peace in these pages. May they offer you comfort and guide you gently through the path of healing. Di is a seasoned hypnotherapist and grief specialist, with years of experience guiding individuals through their most challenging life transitions. Prose
There's a randomness and whimsy to this collection, and anyone familiar with Linda, will expect exactly that. It is also represented in the cover art-a zentangle, aptly name 'Goldfish in the Garden'.Prose begins at a nurses' reunion where the usual entertainments slip away as Pathfinder Robyn amazes with a tale as disjointed as ever was told. Brooks relates the in-between stories, the ones best described as 'stuff I never told you.' Walking down an Adelaide street carrying a box and kicking a hammer in an effort to carry the things left behind by removalists. A patient Indian Postmaster's hilarious explanation of the parcel post system to an insistent customer. There are memories of a muddy creek, a barbed wire fence and the time she was maid for a day at an elegant mansion in leafy upper-crust Sydney's North Shore. Untold stories from nursing days. A top-lofty son is embarrassed by his gentle mother's dementia and receives a lesson in grace. A vigilante tenant prunes a hedge and the neighbourhood is not amused.

Every Day (I Thank You)
EVERY DAY (I THANK YOU) is about gathering thoughts and considerations of gratitude along with short stories of individuals and groups-past and present, from all over the place-making their mark on this world. It is an attempt to encapsulate a holistic approach to engagement, learning, and change, a concept suggesting that for any initiative or effort to be truly effective and transformative, it requires us to pitch in not just intellectually, but emotionally and practically as well. Tales of Appreciation, as the subtitle communicates, for Hands, Hearts and Minds. And, most importantly, appreciative to those that are behold as being agents of change. Good change. Sometimes known individuals, sometimes not well-known, other times anonymous to the public. But all of them are beyond the concept of relevance. GRATITUDE, the sheer theme of this book, is the return to the origin. It calls us to remember where we come from, to recognize the forces that sustain us, and to acknowledge our place within the broader network of life. It becomes a transformative force, guiding us back to our most fundamental connections with ourselves, each other, and the universe at large. GRATITUDE closes the loop in the cycle of giving and receiving, creating a continuous flow that strengthens relationships, builds communities, and fosters a sense of belonging and unity.

The Kids Are All Right
From Design Mom blogger Gabrielle Blair and her husband, Ben Blair, a unique guide that subverts the concept of "perfect parenting" by embracing uncertainty. Parents today are often filled with anxiety, overwhelmed with the feeling that every parenting decision carries paralyzing high stakes. The Kids Are All Right gives parents the tools to set these anxieties to the side and connect more meaningfully with their children and the actual issues they face. The book provides relatable examples and insightful frameworks to help parents approach parenting with confidence rather than reacting to cultural fears about screen time or college admissions. Gabrielle and Ben Blair are the parents of six and have been raising kids for over two decades. Through the years, they've charted their own unconventional path: working from home before remote work was a thing; uprooting their kids four, five, six times - including a move to France where they enrolled in local schools without knowing the language. It's been a unique parenting journey characterized by experimentation, trial and error, decisions prompted by financial or psychological necessity, varying levels of anxiety and tension, despair, and hope. This unique path turned out to be fertile soil for growing independent, resilient, and creative kids, and a family that is genuinely close and truly enjoys each other's company. With this book they share how they did it, and show how we can too, and in so doing, offer a heaping serving of relief. They show how to let go of tired expectations of what it means to be a good parent; how to push back against the latest moral panic; and how to come to terms with the reality that the old rules won't necessarily apply in the future. But more than pushing back and letting go, they show what it looks like to build thriving relationships that extend beyond the first 18 years.

Keeping Our Kids Hopeful
Keeping Our Kids Hopeful delves into the essence of what drives us to face each new day: hope and confidence in the future. It explores how this sense of hope can be fostered in children, even amid uncertainties and challenges. By questioning the traditional pursuit of happiness as the ultimate goal for children, the book underscores the importance of equipping them with emotional literacy and resilience. It stresses that a rich and fulfilling life naturally encompasses a range of emotional experiences, from joy to discomfort, all of which contribute to personal growth and self-understanding.Drawing from experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, the book highlights the profound impact of social and environmental changes on children's mental health. It sheds light on how the lockdowns intensified the need for mental health awareness and support in early childhood settings and schools. The author, a seasoned community psychologist, advocates for a balanced approach that not only addresses mental health issues but also promotes positive mental health and practical guidance for parents to help their children feel heard, supported and capable, thereby instilling a lasting sense of hope and confidence in them.

The Cycle Of Life
On a milestone tenth birthday, Greg Scott and his son put into motion what became a remarkable cross-Canada journey. The two ceremoniously dipped their bicycle tires in the Pacific Ocean and pedalled east as far as a young boy's legs and a little bike could handle. One year later, they picked up from the exact spot where they left off and pushed on eastward. They continued in that same fashion each summer for fifteen years, with their sights set on making it to the Atlantic Ocean to dip their tires again. The Cycle of Life shines light on the importance of cultivating connections and embracing a spirit of adventure. It gives us insight into treasuring one-on-one time and the value of sharing stories with our kids. Through ten provinces, five and a half time zones, and seven thousand kilometres, the duo uncover surprising Canadian quirks and tidbits. They tackle mountain passes, abandoned railways, and ghost towns. The pair cope with the elements of intense storms, tough prairie winds, and bicycling snow-outs. They navigate flat tires and bear chasings, bond over pies and poutine, and witness Great Lakes sunrises and twenty-seven-foot tides. Joyfully watching his son grow on the ride of a lifetime, the journey illustrates how a parent can embrace the inevitable passing of the pacesetting torch from one generation to the next.Enjoy the ride.

10 Lessons for Men...and how our partners can help
This book is about our relationships as men, the lessons we can learn, and how our partners can help us to become more human and relate more deeply. I believe you will find my observations and recommendations intriguing, whether you are the male or female in an intimate relationship. I hope to offer practical, hands-on ideas and soul-searching questions intended to bring about enduring improvements in relationships--and indeed, in the lives of men and their partners generally. In a decade of working with men of all ages in small groups, dozens of personal coaching/counseling sessions, interviews, and years of coaching executives, I have learned there are lots of men who see themselves as clueless about relationships, especially intimate relationships. While they would "take a bullet" to protect their partner or loved one, they seem mystified about what else to do to maintain and grow the relationship--and equally in the dark about how or where to learn that. This book is a collection of my own observations about men's issues based on 10 years of facilitating hundreds of small group and individual coaching sessions as well as serving as Executive Director of Men in BalanceTM, a nondenominational501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the spiritual development of men. The saddest realization for me in this work is that many men resist counseling or taking an introspective look at themselves, even when their job or marriage is threatened. Itis my hope that in this book men may find answers to some of the troublesome questions they wrestle with daily about life, career, marriage, relationships, and spirituality.
