As It Was in the Beginning
Marriage is a gift much like eternal life. God is the one who bestows upon us the potential to love and be loved within the institution of marriage. Every human being who has it receives eternal life as a gift. When we initially entered the world, we did not have it. We were born by the first Adam and destined for death. We did not create eternal life or create it from within us through some mysterious process. It is a gift rather than a domesticated plant planted and nourished on human soil. Therefore, marriage is not given as a reward for good deeds. Since receiving a reward is necessary for doing service, it cannot be a gift. The word "gift" eliminates any connotation of debt. If something is a gift or a grace, it is no longer an obligation or a recompense. Like eternal life, when God implants it in anyone's soul, it is a free gift of Jesus Christ given to the unworthy rather than the deserving. Therefore, we do not see a justification to divorce or revoke marriage from someone who has already acquired it. Imagine if a billionaire gave a poor man a $1 million mansion, and shortly after, the man suffered a hip dislocation in an accident. He could continue taking part in the gift like before his hip dislocated. If his latter situation was taken into account in any way, no one would be able to stop him from receiving the benefit any more than As It Was In The Beginning 02 they could have stopped him from ever receiving it. The billionaire did not give the poor man the mansion as someone who deserved it; it was a gift. The billionaire had already given the poor man the mansion, so there was no reason to stop him from continuing to live there. Just like Mephibosheth did not intentionally become handicapped, the poor man did not intentionally injure himself, and as a result, he was permitted to sit at David's table even though he was a lame man. "David said to him, Fear not, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your father [grandfather], and you shall eat at my table always" (1Samuel 9:7). Or why the present tense, as we have it here, should not always be a present fact. Alternatively, if the poor man abused the mansion, the millionaire had given him, the billionaire had the right to rescind the gift if his name was still associated with it and his reputation was tarnished as a result of the poor man's actions. Without question, marriage is a gift that God never intended to be taken away from anyone. Boredom, communication problems, lack of attention, lack of appreciation, anger issues, unrealistic expectations, division of labor, power inequality, lack of appreciation, stress, and issues are like broken legs and hips in marriages. Although they may affect the joy of marriage they are not justifications for a Giver of the gift of marriage to withdraw it from a beneficiary. It is more of a rationale for the husband and wife to adjust to each other based on their experiences and natural tendencies. Marriage Is A Gift 03 The Unknown Giver Of The Gift Of Marriage And The Abused Gifts T here is a story about a president who was already in office and was seeking reelection. It was at a time when the majority of his country, which had supported him in his first election, had grown weary of his administration's lack of effective leadership. Consequently, in accordance with the presidential polls, they planned to flip parties. In a presidential debate with his opponent, the moderator questioned the incumbent president about whether he had made an effort to visit areas where most people planned to change their party affiliation. The country's incumbent president responded: "Yes, I have, and I believe they are a segment of the country with a short memory, are they not?" They were the majority that elected him to an office just three years prior, but he claimed he had no idea if that was true or not.
As It Was in the Beginning
Marriage often, the institution of marriage is not one of ancestry. It is covenanted between two individuals who may have been complete strangers in the early years of their life. Marriage is a chosen covenant, not a bond based on natural birth. It is not regulated by genealogy, and inequalities do not hinder it. Marriage has strong claims on our attention as a matter of religious reflection since it is intimately interwoven with both the temporal and spiritual prosperity and pleasure of humanity. M arriage has the highest level of sanctity; therefore, those who are conscious of it seek it out and work to preserve it. When they do find it, they do not lose interest in seeing that it develops in grace so that the fullest benefits of its blessing might be realized. Although the Bible makes reference to the sanctity of the married state, people almost universally reject the concept. Thankfully, marriage is always recognized as a hallowed institution in the true Church of God. E very Marriage that God has approved unites God, man and woman. That marriage is always clearly a Trinity in One. And it appears that the sanctification that the Divine blessing bestows on the union is what gives such marriages their sanctity. This could be what makes up its irrevocable quality: "What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder (separate)." (Matthew 19:6).There is no prohibition against severing the ties that God has not established. The warning that man, who can only look at the outside appearance, cannot separate people who, in the apparent appearance, have been joined by God may need to be repeated throughout the book. Marriage's two mysterious components, unity and sanctity, should be seen as its core or the point of connection for all other elements whether they be causes or effects. The Mystery Of Becoming One Flesh (1) W e usually hear about unity among married couples, but I sincerely doubt that many of them truly understand what it entails. Unfortunately, many husbands and wives have very little personal knowledge of unity in marriage. To explain the unity between a husband and wife, various hypotheses have been proposed. One is the concept that the husband and wife have a mystical connection that unites them and turns them into one flesh during sexual activity. It was once acknowledged by human laws as being necessary for a marriage to be complete, and it continues to have some influence on people's opinions. Other issues may arise as a result, for which this is not the appropriate forum. The word family has several definitions. However, for the purposes of this book, I will only talk about two of them. The simple depiction of a family is a household where a man, the husband, a woman, the wife, children, and other dependents live together under his authority, protection, and leadership. That is how a family is represented. In one other sense, a family is defined as all people who can be related through males to a common ancestor. Usually, the word "race" describes a family of that nature.Society is necessary for the well-being of man. The foundation of all governmental and social structures is the family. According to the divine plan, the head of the home should be one man who is married to one woman for life.
How Babies Sleep
From a pioneering infant sleep researcher, this book is a salvation for parents of newborns trying to maintain a nighttime routine. Over the past century and a half, we have tried to manipulate baby sleep to fit with the rapidly changing nature of adult lives. The mismatch we have created with our babies' biology is framed as 'baby sleep problems', and infants are often 'treated' using behavioural and clinical interventions. But it is not baby sleep that needs fixing--only our understanding of it. In How Babies Sleep, Helen Ball brings together cutting-edge science, anthropological insight, and practical advice to provide parents with everything they need to help them confidently--and sanely--navigate the first 365 night-times with a new baby. It will teach you how to harmonise your needs with those of your infant, and empower you to reject approaches that make you uncomfortable. Feel confident in a strategy that works for you and your family!

Though they were offered to stay, Vietnam Veteran Donna's disabilities got worse, making them decide to end the show and start on a new manuscript using the radio stories. What about Men?
An Instant #1 Sunday Times bestsellerWith her signature candor and wit, New York Times bestselling author Caitlin Moran attempts to answer society's weirdly unasked question: What About Men?Like anyone who discusses the problems of girls and women in public, Caitlin Moran has often been confronted with the question: "But what about men?" And at first, tbh, she dgaf. Boys, and men, are fine, right? Feminism doesn't need to worry about them. However, around the time she heard an angry young man saying he was "boycotting" International Women' Day because "It's easier to be a woman than a man these days," she started to wonder: are unhappy boys, and men, also making unhappy women? The statistics on male misery are grim: boys are falling behind in school, are at greater risk of depression, greater risk of suicide, and, most pertinently, are increasingly at risk from online misogynist radicalization. Will the Sixth Wave of feminism need to fix the men, if it wants to fix the women? Moran began to investigate--talking to her husband, close male friends, and her daughters' friends: bringing up very difficult and candid topics, and receiving vulnerable and honest responses. So: what about men? Why do they only go to the doctor if their partner makes them? Why do they never discuss their penises with each other--but make endless jokes about their balls? What is porn doing for young men? Is sexual strangling a good hobby for young people to have? Are men ever allowed to be sad? Are they ever allowed to lose? Have Men's Rights Activists confused "power" with "empowerment"? Are Mid-Life Crises actually quite cool? And what's the deal with Jordan Peterson's lobster? In this thoughtful, warm, provocative book, Moran opens a genuinely new debate about how to reboot masculinity for the twenty-first century, so that "straight white man" doesn't automatically mean bad news--but also uses the opportunity to make a lot of jokes about testicles, and trousers. Because if men have neither learned to mine their deepest anxieties about masculinity for comedy, nor answered the question "What About Men?," then it's up to a busy woman to do it.

In the de Oliveira Evora family, it was a tradition for the women to keep a journal to record life's events. On November 14, 2007, no ordinary day for the family, Lady Madeira passed, knowingly ending centuries of a federation of ancestors who had developed a dynasty with an empire and died like it: a testament to contradictions. In a compelling intergenerational history extracted from journals and oral stories, Viberto Rodrigues traces the roots of this Portugese family from Lisbon to Madeira, England, Brazil, and the United States of America. After detailing their experiences as early settlers of the island of Madeira, he discloses how the family used slave labor in their sugar cane plantations in Brazil, funded their global business with Jewish capital, and assisted refugees fleeing to the Americas during the second World War. Rodrigues also shares glimpses into how a family member worked with the World Health Organization to eradicate malaria in the Amazon, how their close relationship with military regimes led the family to seek refuge in the United States in the 1980s, how the last member of the family searched for her Jewish father, and much more. Lady Madeira Saudade is the fascinating intergenerational history of a Portugese family extracted from journals and oral stories.

A+ Parenting
Eva Moskowitz, founder of the highly lauded Success Academy Charter Schools, shares her advice for raising smart, successful, and intellectually engaged children. Eva Moskowitz has built a national reputation as the founder and leader of Success Academy Charter Schools, one of the country's most highly regarded networks of schools, but while most people know Eva for her success in educating 20,000 mainly low-income students who are routinely accepted to our nation's best universities, she has also been responsible for raising three children of her own. In A+ Parenting, Eva shares what she has learned both as a parent and an educator about raising children to be enthusiastic and successful learners.Eva's most important message is that parents can and should play a critical role in their children's intellectual development. Each year, children only spend about 180 days in school; how they spend the remaining 185 days is up to their parents. Children who continue to learn when they are out of school will make far more progress than those who don't, but parents need not attempt to recreate school at home. Instead, they can encourage their children to engage in fun activities that will have a huge impact on their creativity, intellectual curiosity, and attention span. A+ Parenting is every parent's must-have guide to enriching every aspect of a child's life, from the morning carpool to the soccer field to the dinner table--without having to hire tutors or carve out more hours in the day. Moskowitz explains how to take the time you're already spending with your children and make it more fulfilling and intellectually stimulating for them. The book is full of practical guidance such as: Which extracurricular activities are best for a child's development. How children can learn by watching movies and playing games--and why you should reach for chess or Monopoly over checkers or Candyland. How to help your child overcome a learning disability and ensure it doesn't undermine their self-confidence.Why getting angry at children doesn't work but expressing disappointment does.In addition to advice, this book is filled with carefully curated lists of educational activities, including games to play, movies to watch, puzzles to solve, books to read, music to listen to, and experiments to perform. These activities, supported with love and joy, are all parents need to turn their children into lifelong learners.

She went back to find where it all started - the panic attacks, the dissociation - in the early days of motherhood. When she found it difficult to read or write. In this wide-ranging collection of essays Boland moves on from the person she was and writes to understand who she is now. She swims with sharks, falls in love with a rabbit, and watches her father fight for his life. She is a newcomer in a small regional town and a mother, but what else? She writes about family and friends, life and mortality, memory and forgetting, and along the way she finds her voice again. This book is for anyone who has felt unmoored. It is about the unremarkable in-between, the way we try to build a home from nothing, the dirty dishes and the loads of washing. The uncertainty and the love. Rules of Estrangement
A guide for parents whose adult children have cut off contact that reveals the hidden logic of estrangement, explores its cultural causes, and offers practical advice for parents trying to reestablish contact with their adult children. "Finally, here's a hopeful, comprehensive, and compassionate guide to navigating one of the most painful experiences for parents and their adult children alike."--Lori Gottlieb, psychotherapist and New York Times bestselling author of Maybe You Should Talk to Someone Labeled a silent epidemic by a growing number of therapists and researchers, estrangement is one of the most disorienting and painful experiences of a parent's life. Popular opinion typically tells a one-sided story of parents who got what they deserved or overly entitled adult children who wrongly blame their parents. However, the reasons for estrangement are far more complex and varied. As a result of rising rates of individualism, an increasing cultural emphasis on happiness, growing economic insecurity, and a historically recent perception that parents are obstacles to personal growth, many parents find themselves forever shut out of the lives of their adult children and grandchildren. As a trusted psychologist whose own daughter cut off contact for several years and eventually reconciled, Dr. Joshua Coleman is uniquely qualified to guide parents in navigating these fraught interactions. He helps to alleviate the ongoing feelings of shame, hurt, guilt, and sorrow that commonly attend these dynamics. By placing estrangement into a cultural context, Dr. Coleman helps parents better understand the mindset of their adult children and teaches them how to implement the strategies for reconciliation and healing that he has seen work in his forty years of practice. Rules of Estrangement gives parents the language and the emotional tools to engage in meaningful conversation with their child, the framework to cultivate a healthy relationship moving forward, and the ability to move on if reconciliation is no longer possible. While estrangement is a complex and tender topic, Dr. Coleman's insightful approach is based on empathy and understanding for both the parent and the adult child.
Unlocking Your Child's Genius
Leading clinical psychologist Andrew Fuller says that children are born bright and curious - with a greater capacity for inner genius than we realise. In Unlocking Your Child's Genius, Andrew Fuller shows that by encouraging their child's own learning strengths, parents can help develop the skills and experiences that allow genius to emerge. He also encourages parents to recognise the qualities in their child that predict genius - creativity, motivation, determination, imagination and the willingness to keep going despite making mistakes. In this way parents can be their child's most important teacher.Covering the age range of 2 to 18, Andrew Fuller draws upon the latest research and his own extensive work with thousands of children in private practice to show parents how to help their child build these essential foundation skills.
The Autistic Mom
The reality of adulting and/or parenting children, with Autism and ADHD. A very honest account of the author's experience of being diagnosed with Autism and ADHD at age 38. The difficulties and mental health struggles faced up until this point and the reasons why opting for assessment was chosen. Following her non verbal son's diagnosis at age 3, Jessica dedicated her every moment to finding the best support and all of the information possible to help him interact, communicate and live to his full potential. This continues to be a working success however, the stress and anxiety of such pressure and the unknown had a huge affect on her own mental health. Subsequently, after several difficult years, it was apparent that Jessica herself needed assessment for Autism and was in fact diagnosed with the condition alongside ADHD. This book details the journey up to this point, looks at her life before having a family and being raised in a different world to what we live in today, whilst being undiagnosed. The process of adult diganosis, child diagnosis, advice for parents and other adults alongside positivity and inspiration make this a must read for any parent, any adult struggling with their mental health and anyone who works with children. Also for anyone that would like to learn about the increasing rates in diagnosis of these conditions, in particular those who have doubts.
