Storytelling is elevated to an art form on the front porch. Laughter flows as easily as the soft shadows that fall across the yard. Children giggle as they case fireflies while the grownups sip sweet tea. This is a time of magic. One by one, the children creep up on the porch and find empty places to sit, or they climb onto some's lap and snuggle, feeling safe in the bosom of a loving family. As evening hugs the big ole elm tree, the tone of the stories becomes more subdued, and the eyelids of the children grow heavy. Pretty soon, the only noise is the creak of the porch swing and an occasional chuckle from a grownup. The cool night air and the whippoorwills sing the end of a summer day; this is the music that lulls us to complete contentment. Storytelling has been one of the most important elements in our family. We have fun laughing at others, and we love telling stories on ourselves to allow others to laugh with us. The retelling of a story only makes it better. The following stories have been collected over the last twenty-five years. I have recorded them as I remembered them. Entry Level Mom is a book I wrote specifically about my transformation into motherhood. It is a motherhood memoir of sorts. The goal is to uplift, encourage and connect with mothers through honesty, positivity, and vulnerability. Becoming a mother was an acutely confronting transition and transformation for me. I emerged as a mother slowly and cautiously; I was so disoriented that I found myself earnestly writing out my experiences to orient myself. I would reread my words and use them as a guide, and in doing so, I felt less lost, more found. As time went on, I devoted myself to chronicling my experience, and I wrote this. This book is my own personal, heartfelt take on the experience of becoming a mother.In this book, I share my genuine and vulnerable tales with the promise of honesty, vulnerability, and positivity. I've often heard the advice that you should write the book you need to read; that's exactly why I took seven whole years to write this book. I wrote down lessons, hilarious moments, triumphs, and failures. I wrote down what I thought I had figured out, only to edit and or delete a month later. Then, I sorted the stories by color, flavor and topic, and stitched them together like a patchwork quilt. Becoming a mother is a monumental shift in every woman's life, yet the resources I could find on how to navigate this transformation are frankly scarce. As I journeyed into motherhood, I found an abundance of material on pregnancy and raising strong kids, but I found little to no dialogue on the enormous shift a woman goes through herself. I know (and honor) that everyone's journey is unique, beautiful, and challenging in its own way. But how can we support each other if we're not willing to share our honest truths? That's why I'm sharing my own truth in this book. I'll be sharing my experiences, my feelings, my lessons, my perspective, that all led to growth. My hope is that my words will resonate and uplift.

The question behind men & women's relationships is a structural one that precedes today's societies.The argument about the structural identity of male & female is not a legal argument about how people should be treated within the bonds of the relationship but the structure. Rather, men & women tend to make it about whether heterosexual or homosexual relationships should be identified as having the structure of a marriage, and only after that can civil rights considerations emerge about how citizens should be treated fairly with respect to a relationship or marriage. Those who want homosexual relationships to be redefined as marriages say that many aspects of their relationships are like marriage-having sexual play, living together, loving one another, etc.-and therefore they should be allowed to call their relationships marriages and should be recognized in the law as marriage partners. But this cannot be a proper legal matter until the case has been made that a homosexual partnership and a marriage are indistinguishable. Otherwise, the appeal amounts to nothing more than a request that homosexual partners be allowed to call themselves what they want to call themselves regardless of the differences that exist in reality under the naturalization act. The answer they want is for the law to make and adjudicating authorities to change the law based on the principle that reality is defined by the will and declarations of the individuals, not as it is thru all of whom should be treated without discrimination. But here, in the relationship between a natural man & woman you see that the greater appeal constantly being made not an appeal for judges and lawmakers to reconsider past experimental judgments about similarities between heterosexual and homosexual relationships, but simply for the creation of man and woman in the "Creation of Love" relationship to learn how to learn to exist on the only physical planet in the seven layer universe called earth.

Chicago's Daughter A Memoir
Not everyone from Chicago is or was a gangbanger, drug dealer or user. Despite what is used as the face of inner-city Chicago. The majority of us are the casualties of this lifestyle that was chosen by others. People that were wounded and hurt in their own childhoods and decided to pass down the dysfunction and pain. After decades of sifting through the chaos I inherited as a casualty, I decided to give some things back. Some things that belong to others so that I can work on only what belongs to me. This is my story. These are my experiences and reflections about growing up in the foster care system during the 1980s-90s after losing a brother. With a father in prison and a negligent mother, I wanted to know how (and why) my siblings and I got to where we were. Separated, and in the system for over a decade. I wanted to know what was going on in my family that so many were involved in gangs, drugs and violence. Becoming a victim to murder was too common and prison was a norm even for minors. With my D.C.F.S. (Illinois' Department of Children and Family Services) file, along with included reports from family members, counselors and psychiatrist from that time, I was able to gain more insight to what I had really experienced. I was a daughter of the system. I was taken from my grandparents at six years old with no one in my family thinking of me until I was ten. Even after coming into the family I was reminded that I didn't belong. I was a ward of the state. I was Chicago's daughter.
