99 Reasons
99 Reasons Why Cats Rule - and Why We Worship Them Anyway. This funny cat book collects 99 witty snapshots of real feline life: 5 a.m. wake-up calls, sacred cardboard boxes instead of designer beds, keyboard sabotage in the home office, sock theft, botanical crusades against houseplants, midnight hallway sprints, and those magical moments when a single purr melts every worry. Each vignette reads like a mini sketch - sharp, humorous, and true to the paradox of the cat: aristocrat and clown at once. What's inside The texts celebrate the eternal paradox: cats are independent yet affectionate, strict yet comforting, perched in dignity on the back of the sofa only to become a paper-roll performance artist minutes later. You'll meet bathroom audiences, the philosophy of the door ("always closed - except when it's open"), royal eye contact, Zen-master naps, and the great natural law: "The packaging is better than the gift." Along the way come gentle love bites, affectionate head-butts, and nightly pillow takeovers reminding us why we joyfully let ourselves be trained. Who is it for? For everyone who lives with fur: new cat parents, long-time cat owners, couples, roommates, families, grandparents - and anyone who loves humorous cat stories that bring laughter and stress relief. Perfect for readers who enjoy cat quotes books, cat jokes books, or a good vibes book cats to brighten any day. ✨ Why it works Because recognition sparks laughter: the solemn inspection of the scratching post, the operatic performance in the bathroom, the intense stare into the aquarium, the refrigerator oracle, and the silent rule over couches and hearts. Between irony and warmth, this cat humor book shows how a blink, a head-butt, or a nap on the keyboard teaches us mindfulness, calm, and a pinch of feline wisdom. Cats are the best stress-relief coaches on four paws. Perfect gift idea As a cat lover gift, a funny gift for women or men, a present for a best friend or colleague, a birthday gift, a Christmas gift, or a thank-you for the cat sitter - this humorous cat book works for every occasion. Whether as a travel companion, coffee-table book, or quick bedtime read, these miniatures turn small disasters into funny anecdotes you'll keep sharing. Content highlights From "Water only from your glass" to "Laptop is lava" and sunspot hunting: 99 tiny stories reveal laser-pointer logic, the duel "vacuum cleaner vs. feline majesty," and the eternal riddle "half full = empty." Every scene is short, sharp, and instantly recognizable - pure funny cat humor. Tone & style Charming, cheeky in the best sense, always heartfelt - short, precise mini-texts that dance between light satire and genuine affection. Ideal for a cat mom gift, a funny gift cat lovers, or anyone looking for a quick smile and an anti-stress break. Open, chuckle, sigh, breathe again.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
Hindsight might be 20/20 but that won't help you until it's too late . . . You might be familiar with one "Eureka!" moment, but that's not the only bathtub brainwave out there. Sometimes inventions are the result of just stumbling into a good idea--imagine trying to save people from malaria and inventing a new shade of purple instead. And sometimes ideas are better left on the drawing board, like an instant haircutter that also helpfully burns your hair off, or a trashcan that is also a food-storage container, cheese grater, and flytrap all in one. There are countless inventions that never quite "took off," like a bicycle geared to travel at the speed of light. And then there's the Canadian inventor who discovered how to fly without wings or a balloon. But if you're looking for openings in the market, don't bother building a better mousetrap--there are more mousetrap patent categories than there are successful mousetrap designs. For fans of What If? and MythBusters, What Could Possibly Go Wrong? is a collection of fascinating and amusing "did you know" stories including great ideas that never made it to market, lost technologies, absurd inventions, and more. Some of these stories are stranger than fiction, but all of them have the added benefit of being true.

The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Gay
From comedian Eliot Glazer comes a hilarious and heartfelt essay collection for Las Culturistas listeners, 30 Rock fanatics, and any reader who wishes David Sedaris were just a tad filthier. Comedian and writer Eliot Glazer may occasionally get some stuff right, but being gay is not one of them. Poppers make him dizzy. Parties make him panicked. And the term "guncle" makes him queasy. When it comes to being part of the LGBTQ+ community, Eliot just can't seem to find his shade of the rainbow, which is precisely why he repeatedly suggests a grayscale one instead (although no one seems to listen). In a community built around the "chosen family," Eliot can't even get adopted. The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Gay is for anyone who fully spirals while shopping for a throw pillow, does breathing exercises before entering a pool party, or has a full-fledged breakdown after accidentally dyeing their fake front tooth bubblegum blue amid a torrid affair with a guy under house arrest. (Okay, that might just be Eliot, but it's one hell of a story.) This collection of essays is for Las Culturistas listeners, 30 Rock fanatics, and any reader who wishes David Sedaris were just a tad filthier. Eliot's laugh-out-loud yet quietly heartbreaking stories capture the glory, chaos, and contradictions of queer modern life--a rallying cry for anyone who's ever felt like the odd one out, the minority within the minority, and the one who always seems to "do it wrong."

Advice No One Asked for
From the Emmy-nominated comedian who created "the best segment in late night" (Vulture) comes this hilarious and practical collection of advice for how to live your best life in love, at work, and in comedy. You'd think with a r矇sum矇 like Jenny Hagel's--being a writer/performer for Late Night with Seth Meyers, and head writer/EP of The Amber Ruffin Show--she would describe her greatest accomplishment as something like sharing the stage with Hillary Clinton, or the six times she was nominated for an Emmy. Yet, for Jenny, landing a joke or going to a fancy award show pales in comparison to her true passion: giving people advice. Jenny is so obsessed with (addicted to?) offering unsolicited wisdom that she runs a sold-out live show in New York City called, appropriately, Jenny Hagel Gives Advice. With her debut essay collection, Jenny sets out to backseat drive for as many unwitting strangers as possible. The result is a heartfelt and funny journey through a list of life-changing recommendations, like: wear black when you travel, buy an analog watch, and just because you can go into the monkey enclosure while visiting Honduras doesn't mean that you should.

Class Clown
America's most beloved wiseass finally tells his life story with all the humor you'd expect from a man who made a career out of making fun of pretty much everything. How does the son of a Presbyterian minister wind up winning a Pulitzer Prize for writing a wildly inaccurate newspaper column read by millions of people? In Class Clown, Dave Barry takes us on a hilarious ride, starting with a childhood largely spent throwing rocks for entertainment--there was no internet--and preparing for nuclear war by hiding under a classroom desk. After literally getting elected class clown in high school, he went to college, where, as an English major, he read snippets of great literature when he was not busy playing in a rock band (it was the sixties). He began his journalism career at a small-town Pennsylvania newspaper where he learned the most important rule of local journalism: never confuse a goose with a duck. His journey then took a detour into the business world, where as a writing consultant he spent years trying, with limited success, to get corporate folks to, for God's sake, get the point. Somehow from there he wound up as a humor columnist for The Miami Herald, where his boss was a wild man who encouraged him to write about anything that struck him as amusing and to never worry about alienating anyone. His columns were not popular with everyone: He managed to alienate a vast army of Neil Diamond fans, and the entire state of Indiana. But he also developed a loyal following of readers who alerted him to the threat of exploding toilets, not to mention the fire hazards posed by strawberry pop-tarts and Rollerblade Barbie, which he demonstrated to the nation on the David Letterman show. He led his readers on a crusade against telemarketers that ultimately caused the national telemarketers association to stop answering its own phones because it was getting--irony alert--too many unwanted calls. He has also run for president multiple times, although so far without success. He became a book author and joined a literary rock band, which was not good at playing music but did once perform with Bruce Springsteen, who sang backup to Dave. As for his literary merits, Dave writes: "I'll never have the critical acclaim of, say, Marcel Proust. But was Marcel Proust ever on Carson? Did he ever steal a hotel sign for Oprah?" Class Clown isn't just a memoir; it's a vibrant celebration of a life rich with humor, absurdity, joy, and sadness. Dave says the most important wisdom imparted by his Midwestern parents was never to take anything too seriously. This laughter-filled book is proof that he learned that lesson well.

Real Life, Real Funny
Twenty-five famous Mainers share humorous stories of everyday life in and about the state of Maine. It's homegrown humor laced with folksy wisdom in the tradition of John Gould and Marshall Dodge. Mainers are born storytellers and they have perfected the art of telling a joke with Down East understatement. These wits recount tales of growing up and growing old in times when politics was more fun and Maine people seemed to know how to better cope with the demands of life and times on the rugged coast, the vast inland forest, and the places in-between. The twenty-five contributors include well-recognized political names-Maine's current governor, a senator, a former senator, and a former governor-so there's a healthy dose of political stories mixed into the collection of wicked Maine wit. They are illuminating, bittersweet, and laugh-out-loud funny-and they capture the gritty, independent spirit Mainers are known for.

Washington Post Is Switching Off Lights
Standing on the snarky shoulders of Ambrose Bierce and Dorothy Parker, this tongue-in-cheek examination of everything from patriotism and ego to our collective dopamine addiction is a cathartic work of social philosophy, which is at once heavily satirical and all too realistic. - The Independent Review of BooksBardzik is more than capable of penning the most clever thing you've read today. It's easy to picture his books in the back pocket of his jeans, the lines smudged with a feverish hand and a churning mind. There's a lot going on in that skull of his, and it's a pleasure to be in there with him. - Independent Book ReviewYou don't read this book to follow a story. You read it to be jolted awake. I'll be honest, reading this felt like watching fireworks. Every line bursts for a second, then vanishes, leaving an echo. It's perfect for readers who enjoy thinkers like Wilde, Cioran, or Vonnegut, but want something more contemporary and raw. - Literary Titan

Marianne
This classy, classic, second-chance Regency romance - fifth in what PUBLISHERS WEEKLY itself called 'McVeigh's celebrated series' - combines sparkling dialogue with powerful depth of feeling in Austenesque style. When the widowed Marianne - still beautiful, still impulsive, and not yet twenty-one - returns to London, she's wealthy, with a house in Mayfair and an estate in Dorsetshire. Despite her resolution to remain single, she's besieged by admirers, including the smitten Rushworth, the dangerously attractive Willoughby, and the charming and irreverent Crawford. Then Marianne's sixteen-year-old sister Margaret arrives - exuberantly romantic but also perilously na簿ve. In a shocking twist, Margaret finds herself on trial for her life, while Marianne - in need of every friend - finds her resolution tested to the utmost."Marianne captures the essence of Austen... She throws together characters that readers love, or love to hate, to see how they gel. The result is funny, heartwarming, and everything lovers of the Austen universe could hope for." -BookLife Prize review, 2025"Spectacular! With smooth pacing and classic style, McVeigh delivers a sequel that is sure to please." -Readers Favorite Editorial Review (five stars)"Charming... logically organized and emotionally satisfying - much like the contrast between Elinor and Marianne. Five stars! -Readers Views Editorial Review"McVeigh's prose and plotting are pitch perfect... she echoes the master herself." - Publishers Weekly
The Competently Quirky Parables of an Eccentric Master Gardener
A Note from RosieSome people plant a few flowers. Some grow veggies in summer. Maybe they have a little spider plant or bamboo in the office. I am not exactly one of those people. My philodendron extends from one pot on a shelf across three walls in my dining room. The Maple sapling in my front yard cries when temperatures top 100 degrees. Starbucks baristas across the city save coffee grounds for me. Plant catalogs choke my mailbox and, yes, this 69 year old Master Gardener owns a tractor. I can get somewhat obsessive about it all. My husband has grown accustomed to my insistence that vacations must be planned around key times for vegetable garden harvesting. I write two page long watering instructions for house sitters in the fervent desire that leaving for a week won't destroy the charm and beauty of my home environment. My unusual methods of approaching the challenges of the garden are effective, and I've given lectures for gardening clubs on various aspects of gardening from creating microclimates in high desert areas to vacuuming squash bugs. My friends smile and call me eccentric, fellow gardeners acknowledge me as competent and my kids just think I'm kinda quirky. _____________________________ Comments from readers: From Fil Chavez, author of "Unused Towels"MAD MAD MAD . . . with lots of really good advice! I am not a serious gardener, I am more of a "Well, I tried but ..." Nonetheless, this is indeed CRAZY MAD HUMOR ... i.e., "squash bugs .... Horniest critters in the insect world ... Live in a constant state of post-coital euphoria ... take a cold bath" and it gets better! It is definitely worth getting the book. Thanks, Rosie!
