Navigating GP Land
Navigating GP Land takes readers on an unforgettable journey into the daily chaos of a British GP surgery, where humour is as essential as a stethoscope. Dr. Waseem Jerjes invites you behind the scenes to explore the lighter side of general practice, peppered with sarcastic wit and a deep understanding of what it truly means to be a GP. From the waiting room's unwritten etiquette to patients who insist their Google research holds more weight than a medical degree, this book captures the bizarre, the baffling, and the genuinely heartfelt moments that define the life of a GP. With every turn of the page, you'll meet patients with mysterious, disappearing symptoms and witness the comical consequences of "just a quick question" that unravels into a lengthy consultation. Jerjes masterfully balances humour with the very real pressures faced by GPs, weaving in tales of resilience, humanity, and the ever-present need to keep a stiff upper lip amid the unpredictability of healthcare. The anecdotes are more than just stories; they offer insight into the GP-patient relationship and the subtle art of navigating human behaviour with a healthy dose of sarcasm. Whether you're a healthcare professional, a patient, or simply someone in need of a good laugh, Navigating GP Land will leave you chuckling and nodding in recognition at the quirks of NHS life.

Zorba's Embrace
Zorba's Embrace: Love, Lies & Lemon Groves is a warm, witty, and deeply human story about belonging, community, and the glorious complications of living life the Greek way. When a half-retired Englishman and his formidable Greek wife find themselves running a taverna in a small coastal village, they imagine a quieter life built around good food, strong coffee, and the occasional argument about olive oil. What they get instead is a front-row seat to village life in all its chaotic, affectionate, and utterly irresistible splendour.Set in Telios, a place where gossip travels faster than Wi-Fi and everyone has an opinion worth sharing, Zorba's Embrace follows a cast of unforgettable characters as they navigate love, loyalty, and the invisible threads that bind a community together. There are reluctant mayors, philosophical fishermen, a terrifyingly competent cook who rules her kitchen with a wooden spoon, a goat with a talent for disruption, and a village doctor whose consulting room is a wonky table outside the taverna. As winter gives way to spring, old secrets surface, relationships are tested, and the village begins preparing for a wedding that may or may not go according to plan. Between health inspections, emotional misunderstandings, bureaucratic surprises, and well-intentioned interference from absolutely everyone, the taverna slowly becomes more than a place to eat. It becomes the beating heart of the village, where stories are shared, arguments resolved, and lives quietly reshaped.Written with warmth, gentle self-deprecation, and an affectionate eye for everyday absurdity, Zorba's Embrace celebrates slow living, shared meals, and the messy beauty of finding home in a place that refuses to behave. Funny, touching, and deeply observant, it is a love letter to Greece as it is lived, not packaged.Perfect for readers who love Greece, character-driven storytelling, and stories that make you laugh, reflect, and reach for another glass of wine, this is a book about what happens when you stop passing through and start belonging.

Fox in a Fix
From award-winning author Aniket Soman comes a workplace satire sharper than office staplers and more chaotic than a Monday morning login failure. Fox in a Fix catapults you into Junglee Log, a jungle-turned-corporate circus where job titles matter more than actual work, caffeine is the sacred life force, and performance reviews are indistinguishable from legal cross-examinations. In this ecosystem, predators chase deadlines like prey, prey chase promotions like lottery tickets, and everyone pretends to understand PowerPoint slides that look like modern art. Running the show is King Chuha Singh, a lion CEO with the roar of authority and the logic of a Wi-Fi signal during heavy rain. His leadership team? Selected entirely based on their lung capacity for flattery, not skill. Enter Chatur, the hopeful young fox with motivational quotes, and unsuspicious amounts of ambition. Standing against him is Chalu, the silky-furred Silver Fox-corporate legend, master strategist, and blazer influencer.
Tales from High Bluff
The third and final journey to High Bluff-a fictional town atop the highest bluff on the Gulf Coast-takes us straight to its heart. Twelve months. Twelve love stories. The kind that survive war, weather roosters (most certainly demon possessed), and circle back decades later to where they began. Coach Wayne Small traded a Corvette and a chili dog for fifty years with Miss Carolyn ... Bull and Miss Juanita learned what happens when a mean rooster takes on a prize Brahma bull ... Kitty and DT found their way back to fireworks over the bay ... Reverend Arbuckle's rodeo obsession that nobody saw coming ... and Stuart and James Reece's friendship that transcended Jim Crow in the scorching summer of 1956. Everything inside is sworn to be fiction, but if you've ever been lucky enough to live in South Texas, you'll spot the difference between the bull chips and clumped dirt.
The Valentine's Day Audit
Valentine's Day is widely regarded as a celebration of love. This audit found no supporting evidence.Instead, Valentine's Day operates as a high-visibility performance environment in which effort is evaluated, visibility is rewarded, and meaning is assigned retroactively-often without agreement or clarity.Inside, you'll find: - a breakdown of the unspoken performance metrics everyone uses (and why they don't work) - the most common failure scenarios, misread signals, and escalation traps - an analysis of where emotional labor quietly accumulates-and who absorbs it - a risk assessment of opting out, minimizing, or treating the day as normalThis is a work of satirical nonfiction. This book does not tell you how to celebrate Valentine's Day.It does not tell you how to fix anything. It does not issue verdicts or recommendations. What it documents is why the day generates disproportionate interpretive pressure, why outcomes often feel ambiguous, and why emotional decompression is the most common post-event response.Written with restraint, dry humor, and diagnostic precision, The Valentine's Day Audit is best read before February 15-though its findings remain accurate afterward.

Goodnight Sundance
Framed as a dark parody of a familiar bedtime story, Goodnight Sundance is a grown-up satirical send-off to a film festival-and a town-on the verge of goodbye. It skewers the rituals and contradictions of Sundance in Park City: the crowded Egyptian Theatre, whispered deals, influencer theatrics, exhausted volunteers, and films that drift from "art" to "content" overnight.Beneath the jokes and insider nods, the poem traces a quieter shift-how a scrappy, artist-first festival slowly became a brand, how local character blurred under global attention, and how the mountains stayed put through it all. Goodnight Sundance is less a eulogy than a knowing farewell: affectionate, skeptical, and fully aware that when the circus packs up, even the most cynical local will feel a tinge of loss.

Beyond the Spotlight
As Robin Skone-Palmer approached the mansion on Rockingham Avenue one hot September afternoon, she didn't know what to expect. "Ask for Phyllis Diller," the employment agent had said. Curious as much as nervous, she studied the beautiful house. Three-and-a-half hours later, she walked away wondering if she'd just stepped into Alice's Wonderland. Plane travel, foreign countries, celebrities, and television studios became part of everyday life-from "This Is Tom Jones" in London to the Glass Festival in Elwood, Indiana. They shared raucous laughter, mind-numbing boredom, and occasionally absolute terror. The work relationship became a friendship that lasted to the day of Phyllis's death at that same Rockingham mansion in Brentwood. Join Robin beyond the spotlight, on the road with Phyllis Diller, as she recalls her days working as a personal secretary for the beloved, ground-breaking comedienne. After leaving Diller's employment, Skone-Palmer became a "Diller Dustbiter," a term Diller coined to affectionately describe her favorite former employees. The comedienne even endorsed the memoir (before she died), writing on one of those sticky notes she had used so often: "Robin Skone-Palmer has written a book-it is FABULOUS!" Diller's son Perry also endorsed the book, saying: "I laughed a lot. What a wonderful, insightful, bright observation of a another time and place. You are kind and fair. Thank you for your service to my mother."

And though her sister might take a turn as Magician or Knight, Bobbi embodied the best qualities of the Fool, trekking through life with little but a dog, a backpack, and boundless optimism.Conversations With My Sister: A Fool's Journey Through the Tarot is both a primer on the art of tarot and an inside look at an ordinary family with a wicked sense of humor. Its 58 fun-sized chapters make it the perfect beach or bedtime read, and by the time you reach the journey's end, Annie and Bobbi will feel like your new best friends.Who knew that tarot could be this funny?

Problem Child - The View From The Principal's Office
This is not a memoir, it's a sorta-was, a collection of 25 humorous short stories that date back to the days of the "unsupervised sixties." Problem Child takes you inside the hyperactive and somewhat Machiavellian mind of Robb Lightfoot, the kid who had his own special reserved seat in the principal's office. He wasn't looking for trouble, it just found him. He was president and sole member of Highland Elementary's short-lived rock-throwing club, a chewing gum connoisseur, and woodshop survivee. Robb's recollections are part truth and part tall tales. Learn why school is unlike Jeopardy! and why too much knowledge may be hazardous to your health. Some of these tales happed almost exactly as written, others are a combination of pranks, misunderstandings, and mishaps that have been combined. Still others are epic stories that have grown with each telling, and form a part of the Lightfoot's family lore. A key point in these stories is that usually, Robb is trying to do the right thing and getting it all wrong. His allies are a patient principal, a tolerant mother, and neighbors who have their own quirks. The stories cover Robb's grade school years, and include a cast of his friends. Just like in the TV Show Dragnet, the names have been changed to protect the innocent. Problem Child is dedicated to the late Principal Tom Lewis, who eventually set up an extra desk in his outer office for Robb to take his time outs, reflect, and read. Author Robb Lightfoot went on to complete his studies and enter education as a profession. He now lives, teaches, and writes in Northern California, and owes a great deal to the very patient faculty and staff at Highland Elementary in Oildale.
Mad About Men
MAD ABOUT MEN IS: - A (mostly) true, laugh-out-loud account of a successful executive single mother's search for love. - "Racy, raw, sometimes vulgar, always hilarious," according to a guy in Chapter 32 who actually read it. - An account of dating and sex from a liberated, confident, unapologetic MILF in her 40s. - A warmly relatable story, even though it sounds like a sordid, lustful tale of promiscuity (which it also is, the author admits). MAD ABOUT MEN IS NOT: - A self-help book about relationships. - About a woman who finds herself after some extreme, soul-searching, incredible journey. - A sticking-finger-in-throat sappy account of finding true love and living happily ever after. - Only for women to read. Madelyn gains a new perspective on relationships after a series of major losses (some devastating, some not so much). Root for her as she entertains each potential suitor and laugh with her (or at her) as she tries to make sense of what she wants, what men want, and what to do next. Whether or not you've ever swiped right, Match'ed, or flirted with the flight attendant, you'll relate to Madelyn's search for love and (hot) sex--not necessarily in that order. Go ahead and judge her, she won't mind.

Hide, Stone, and Bone
A skirmish wargame of prehistoric survival. Hide, Stone, and Bone is a wargame of hunting and combat in which players lead tribes of early human ancestors as they attempt to survive in the face of the perils of the Ice Age. From season to season, tribes seek to grow and prosper, engaging in various 'Big Days' that represent important events such as mammoth hunts, attacks by cave bears, and clashes with rival tribes. In between these encounters, tribes must gather food, craft tools and weapons, and consult their shamans to prepare themselves for the next threat, be it from enemies, animals, nature, or something stranger... While the skirmishes and hunts of Big Days are resolved using a d10-based alternating activation system, Hide, Stone, and Bone also features a detailed campaign system that forms a core part of the gameplay experience. Ultimately, survival is all - defeating other tribes is not the sole focus and it is possible for tribes to thrive even if the fortunes of war are against them. With options for solo, cooperative, and competitive play, Hide, Stone, and Bone gives players all the tools they need to meet the challenges of the Ice Age and lead their tribes into a prosperous future.

Cain's Jawbone
