Determinants of Inflation in a Micro Economy
This thesis aims to identify the determinants of inflation in Northern Cyprus. The thesis uses monthly data from 2015-2021. Unit root test results indicate that there is mixed-order integration for variables. The bounds test under the ARDL approach verified that the variables have a long-run association. The findings indicate that inflation rates in Turkey, minimum wage, electricity prices, exchange rates and government spending are the factors that have a significant impact on the long-term inflation rates in Northern Cyprus. Specifically, a 10 percentage point increase in inflation rates in Turkey, minimum wage, electricity prices, exchange rates, and government spending will result in a 9.4, 0.7, 0.99, 1.3, and -0.29 percentage point rise in inflation rates in Northern Cyprus, respectively. Therefore the main finding of this study is that the T羹rkiye's inflation rate largely determines and causes inflation in Northern Cyprus.

Gauging the Influence of House-Price Expectations on Marginal Propensity to Consume Heterogeneity
This study identifies a new determinant of household marginal propensities to consume (MPC): house-price growth expectations. We exploit a detailed and representative data set of Dutch households that allows us to link housing and savings decisions with house-price growth expectations and monetary policy shocks. We document a positive empirical relationship between expected house-price growth and the propensity of households to move-both unconditionally and in response to monetary policy shocks. We explain this pattern using a structural life-cycle model of consumption and savings that features mortgage-financed owned- and rental-housing, and where households have subjective beliefs about future house prices. Due to the housing capital gains channel, households with higher expectations have a higher likelihood of moving. This in turn, leads to higher average and more heterogeneous MPCs, as housing is complementary to non-durable consumption. These results carry over to the rebate coefficients (RC) from government stimulus transfers. Low-expectation households tend to have low and insensitive RCs, while high-expectation households exhibit higher and more dispersed RCs, both per stimulus package and across stimulus sizes.

The skin's importance is often overlooked by about a half of the world's population - mostly men - although this is rapidly changing. Even so, most of those who do worry about their skin are mainly interested in the areas that show like the face, neck and hands.However, the skin is not only the largest organ on the body (human or otherwise), it is also the membrane that literally holds us together. On a recent visit to a dermatologist, I described a small cut on my hand as 'nothing serious'. The dermatologist's response surprised me. "Your skin is not only there to keep bodily fluids in", he said, "but to keep pathogens out. Every time that barrier is damaged, it makes it easier for bacteria to get in. Bacteria can cause infections such as sepsis and blood poisoning which can be irreversible and so lethal". I am no longer so blas矇 about nicks and scratches as I once was in my silly, macho male way.Skin is also very sensitive to what is going on beneath it, which means that acne, pimples, dry or oily skin are early warnings of underlying problems. The problem for most people is that they treat the symptoms - the outbreak - rather than the underlying cause. This is hardly surprising, since skin care companies make hundreds of billions from selling creams, potions and lotions to mask these symptoms. This effectively allows the condition to continue.Having said that, continuous, regular skin care started from an early age is a good thing. However, you need impartial information from a specialist before deciding what kind of skin care regimen to follow. Just doing what one's parents do, or gathering a basketful of products from the local pharmacy is not good enough.Do your own research, and ask the right people, before you decide on how to protect yourself.
