In the era of the Internet of Things, images have played important roles in human-computer interactions, and with the arrival of big data technology, people have higher requirements regarding image quality, especially for images collected in dark light. This can be addressed through the development of camera hardware quality, i.e., the resolution and exposure time of cameras, which may require high computational costs. As an alternative, image enhancement techniques can exact salient features to improve the quality of captured images according to the differences in diverse features, although they suffer from some challenges, i.e., a low contrast, artifacts, and overexposure, thus making it decidedly necessary to determine how to use advanced image enhancement techniques. The topic of advances in the image enhancement of electronics is presented in this reprint, which brings together the research accomplishments of researchers from academia and industry. The secondary goal of this reprint is to display the latest research results of advances in image enhancement.

Optimal Control Problems Arising in Mathematical Economics

This book is devoted to the study of two large classes of discrete-time optimal control problems arising in mathematical economics. Nonautonomous optimal control problems of the first class are determined by a sequence of objective functions and sequence of constraint maps. They correspond to a general model of economic growth. We are interested in turnpike properties of approximate solutions and in the stability of the turnpike phenomenon under small perturbations of objective functions and constraint maps. The second class of autonomous optimal control problems corresponds to another general class of models of economic dynamics which includes the Robinson-Solow-Srinivasan model as a particular case. In Chap. 1 we discuss turnpike properties for a large class of discrete-time optimal control problems studied in the literature and for the Robinson-Solow-Srinivasan model. In Chap. 2 we introduce the first class of optimal control problems and study its turnpike property. This class of problems is also discussed in Chaps. 3-6. In Chap. 3 we study the stability of the turnpike phenomenon under small perturbations of the objective functions. Analogous results for problems with discounting are considered in Chap. 4. In Chap. 5 we study the stability of the turnpike phenomenon under small perturbations of the objective functions and the constraint maps. Analogous results for problems with discounting are established in Chap. 6. The results of Chaps. 5 and 6 are new. The second class of problems is studied in Chaps. 7-9. In Chap. 7 we study the turnpike properties. The stability of the turnpike phenomenon under small perturbations of the objective functions is established in Chap. 8. In Chap. 9 we establish the stability of the turnpike phenomenon under small perturbations of the objective functions and the constraint maps. The results of Chaps. 8 and 9 are new. In Chap. 10 we study optimal control problems related to a model of knowledge-based endogenous economic growth and show the existence of trajectories of unbounded economic growth and provide estimates for the growth rate.

Over several years I started writing and explaining the different areas of math. It is my hope that this workbook helps students and parents who my be frustrated with "new" math and "common core" principles. In this workbook you will find every area that is covered in math for secondary students. The chapter problems are specially designed to address several levels of a students skill sets. I found that most students would fall into various levels....advanced; standard; basic and remedial. Each chapter problems and chapter tests are designed with levels of "difficult", "moderate" and " easy" problems. As a former math teacher and a parent of three adult children I really hope this book helps.

In particular, it is observed that the parameters promoting CTL responses need to be boosted over parameters promoting antibody production to obtain a biologically relevant steady state. A novel stochastic model of COVID-19 investigates quarantine and lock down as important strategies for control and elimination of COVID-19.

Analyticity and Sparsity in Uncertainty Quantification for Pdes with Gaussian Random Field Inputs

The present book develops the mathematical and numerical analysis of linear, elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs) with coefficients whose logarithms are modelled as Gaussian random fields (GRFs), in polygonal and polyhedral physical domains. Both, forward and Bayesian inverse PDE problems subject to GRF priors are considered.Adopting a pathwise, affine-parametric representation of the GRFs, turns the random PDEs into equivalent, countably-parametric, deterministic PDEs, with nonuniform ellipticity constants. A detailed sparsity analysis of Wiener-Hermite polynomial chaos expansions of the corresponding parametric PDE solution families by analytic continuation into the complex domain is developed, in corner- and edge-weighted function spaces on the physical domain.The presented Algorithms and results are relevant for the mathematical analysis of many approximation methods for PDEs with GRF inputs, such as model order reduction, neural network and tensor-formatted surrogates of parametric solution families. They are expected to impact computational uncertainty quantification subject to GRF models of uncertainty in PDEs, and are of interest for researchers and graduate students in both, applied and computational mathematics, as well as in computational science and engineering.
