Now lonelier than ever, Gepetto endeavours to finish the puppet in his wife's memory and does so... and wishes with all his might that the puppet would come to life. Bella, the blue fairy and North Star, hears Gepetto's wish and brings the puppet to life, appointing Nicolina as his official conscience. She tells the puppet that he will only be a real boy when he can prove himself selfless, brave and true. He is named Pinocchio and Gepetto is thrilled.
